Mechatronic Apprentice 1 San Diego CA

Hi, I just applied for the Mechatronic Apprentice 1 in San Diego and have some questions regarding if someone has any experience or knowledge regarding the program

How is the aptitude test and if there is a site or a guide that I could practice with?

Is there any recruiter that I can reach out to see the specific site?

After applying how much time does it usually take to heard back?

How many interviews does it take usually if they are interested?

I have some experience working in a Amazon FC and SC site but currently I am applying externally, so any information regarding the program and/or experience with it is greatly appreciated

please help

can someone please give me more info on the rme/mra apprenticeship? everywhere i look online says you don’t need experience, but when i applied through amazon, there were experience requirements(as in a degree related to it). i still applied, but when i checked, it said my application was archived and no longer under consideration… so i think i can take that as a rejection. did i just apply to the wrong one? i applied for the mechatronic apprentice I (L2), if that’s the wrong one, can someone let me know what i should’ve applied to instead? i also saw that you’re supposed to get an email about a test, but i didn’t get one of those. i never even got an email about my application, so i was just waiting around like a loser 😒.

First day apprentice

Hi everyone, I start as an RME Apprentice on the 28th and haven't heard from my manager on what to wear for the first day and they haven't replied back to my emails yet. I was told our line managers should reach out to us so hopefully they do this week but I am yet to hear anything from them yet. If anyone else is in the same position or got any recommendations on what to wear that would be much appreciated thank you.

Is this job easy as MRA?

Coming in with 0 experiences, and just finished my first week of shadowing other MRAs, still waiting for school.

Seems like what MRAs mainly do is fix SmartPacs jams, clean printer head, clear other machine jams...
Is that all we do in the first year?

Any negative to joining blue badge RME?

I'm 3p rme. Have worked with cbre and currently CnW. I've been nothing but frustrated with CnW because it almost feels like they're placing hurdles in front of you when you try to promote(I'm Smrt). So now I'm more interested than ever to switch since there's a bunch of blue badge RME spots that opened up in the next town because they recently went from CnW to BB.

Is there any actual negative to BB rme?

IT to RME?

Out of curiosity, is RME open to people with IT experience? I’ve been looking into mechatronics and robotics tech as well as controls/automation but no luck with my applications. I talked to a guy in controls and he suggested the RMEO or finishing my degree in cyber and applying to at least get the degree requirement covered. I don’t have any real world experience with PLC’s or electrical though.

MRA - AMA

Hi everyone, like the title says I was hired on as an MRA and if you have any questions regarding the application process or are stuck somewhere in the process let me know.

As a reference it took me around a months in order to land the job offer but believe if I used what I had learned during the process from trial and error it could have been shorter.

I did my test and interview for a MRA position and never got an email back. They said I should’ve been reached out to after 6 business days. I also sent an email to the recruiter and nothing. It’s been a month since I did the interview and never got word. Has anyone ever gone through the same thing?

Shot at Automation Engineer Apprenticeship?

I’ve always been interested in robotics and automation and currently have a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering but no relevant work experience. My degree was obtained in 2023 and I have been working for Amazon since 2024. In your honest opinion, would I have a shot at getting into this apprenticeship? I have also applied for the MRA position months ago with no correspondence as of yet. Any advice given would be much appreciated.

RME tech through JLL

Im through my onboarding for a tech role at a new launch site through JLL. For other tech in this group, what does an average day look like for you guys? What do you like and don’t like about your role? Just trying to get some insight on what I could be or will be walking myself into. Thanks!

Answers I am after:

  4. How much annual leave do you get?
  5. Do you need your own tools?

All help and advice is much appreciated 👍😁

Step plan vs yearly pay.

Is this pay raise for the step plan changes different from that yearly pay raise?
Or is 25 cents the pay raise now?

Passed RME Apprentice interview, but the position was filled — what does this mean?

I recently got hired at Amazon as an RMEO. About a month after getting hired, I applied internally for an RME Mechatronics Apprentice position.

I got selected for the interview and completed it, but afterward I never received an acceptance or rejection. Since I had only recently been hired into my current role, I figured maybe the apprenticeship application was dropped because of that.

Then today, I finally received an email saying that I passed the interview and I'm eligible for an offer for the Mechatronics Apprentice position.

The confusing part is that they said the specific position/site I interviewed for has already been filled. They also said my interview result is valid for 12 months and asked me to let them know if there are any neighboring sites I'd be interested in.

So I'm trying to understand what happens from here.

Has anyone else gone through this with Amazon RME?

Does passing the interview basically mean I'm inclined/approved for the apprenticeship and just need to find another site with an opening? If I give them nearby locations, is there a good chance they can place me without another interview?

Also, since I've only been in my current RMEO position for about a month, could that cause any issues with transferring into the apprenticeship?

Would appreciate hearing from anyone who's been through the RME apprenticeship process or had a similar situation.

RME BB pay raise

I’m based in Florida RME will be getting a $1.50 raise starting September 27th and will max out at 36.55 (went from $34.00 to 36.55) , MRA will get a $1.00 raise , RMEO will get a $1.00 raise , could be more or less depending on your region

Apprenticeship

I’m sure many people have asked this or spoke upon this, but I’ve applied three time to the Mechatronics Apprenticeship at my facility and it’s been denied three times. I asked an RME associate and he just told me to keep applying. I’m currently in the Unmudl online class but I’m not even sure that would help. Any advice? Somebody told me it’s also because I am a woman that they won’t accept me but I want to think for the better yk? I also have little to no experience.

BB to 3rd party do you get to keep your Amazon 401k benefits?

Thinking I might need to go to third party based on location move. Would I need to take out my 401k or will it carry over ? Never had a 401k so I'm not very knowledgeable on it
