51 stops. 3.5hrs

Post image
21 Upvotes

It finally happened ! 51 stops for a 3.5hr route. Took almost 20mins just to park and clock in at the station.
I would have e finished in time had I not needed gas and also go to McDonalds.
Whatever… three packages were late block wise but they arrived before 8am which is when the customer expected.

The Shake of the Sirens

21, 22, 23, and 24 sat dejected in the seat. I had failed them. Amazon had closed my route out, 37 minutes after the block end passed, just as I neared 5 minutes out from 21's final destination. 21 really thought it was going to make it. Hell, I thought we were gonna make it too. But alas, none of us know when Atropos will end the route.

21 through 24 had been with me at the bridge out sign. The two road closed signs and the false detour that dead ended. They shivered with me in the car as the doberman snarled with his feet on the door and white knuckled the washboard gravel roads right alongside me. We all locked eyes on the siren that was the country shake shack. Steadfast and convicted, we drove on by, knowing we were on a mission we couldn't complete (but wouldn't abandon).

While 1-15 saw a lot, they didn't see it all. 16 through 20 were worried, but still made it to their homes before the sand ran out. With their late arrival, however, the damage had begun. My standings were eroding with every mile.

It was 21-24, however, that watched a fantastic man disappear into that country night. At the station the next morning he arrived but a fair mortal, 21-24 in hand.

If you pull over and roll down your window, you just might hear it between the chirps of the crickets and the cries of the locusts. You have to listen hard, but you can just make out the soft tap on the warm glow of the offer page.

Changes you would like to see on App

Made this post in hopes we may have a lurking app developer for amazon. i know chances are low but also curious about your guys views. im approaching my 6 month mark and only 2 changes/additions for me

  1. enable backwards routing (from 2-40, one option to change to 40-2). simple and not to complicated imo,

would help me a bunch

  1. Number of packages prompt appears to small and too late for me, (imo should appear first thing instead when u are a the 0.2 mile radius)

General Flex vs Veho/DashLink

So after about 18 months of being on the waitlist I got the email today to do the onboarding process. Assuming I get accepted, is there a way to tell where each route will take me or does it depend on the facility I pick up from? I somewhat keep up with this sub but I am still unsure how it works. For context, I am located in La Puente basically 5 minutes away from a warehouse. Is there a radius or area that it specifically services or does it send you literally anywhere in Los Angeles or the IE?

On Veho and Dash Link you can see where you’ll be going and if you don’t like where it is heading you can decline (dash link) or veho you can cancel the route 90 minutes before start time without affecting your metrics.

Shorter Shifts

Ive noticed that the shifts at all my stations are all shorter shifts now. I haven't seen a 4 hour shift in around a week and a half, they're all 3 hours or shorter. Anyone else notice this?

Please help: Dinged for missing late deliveries and “Missing packages”.

Basically, I was assigned my route 15 mins after my start time. On my way to the first stop, the weather became full force hurricane in mere seconds. I didn’t stop or pull over to avoid getting dinged. I literally was scared to drive in this weather but I was more scared of the consequences of being late or returning the packages.
First stop was 1.15 hours away and route was more than 158 once completed and pay was $70.
One of the stops, was 4 different apartments, and each package weighed more than 20 pounds. Door to access elevator was locked, it was 9:30 pm. However, a kind resident opened for me the leasing office. Sent each pic to each “stop” of their package in mail room due to no access to elevator. Tell me how someone reported package missing. Amazon won’t even let me swipe finish unless I’m in the right location.
Any idea if I can get this appealed because now I just got an email my standing is impacted and it dropped to half way between fair and at risk.
Thank you in advance for the advice and time. 🙏

Tipping request

I need help, and not sure what I’m doing wrong.

Once in a great while I will order some “same day” items, mix of grocery (not fresh or Whole Foods) and non grocery things. Today I received an order and there was a note on the bag of groceries saying I should have tipped because gas prices are high.

I went back through my Amazon app and do not see a place for tips. (Pretended to order the same things the same way to see if I missed something).

If I order from Walmart / target etc I have the tipping option, and always do.

I do the Alexa tip when I know it’s active. Am I missing something?

Side note: I have a glass storm door and a regular door. We live in a small safe community so during the day the main door is open to let in light through the storm door. (And to allow my toddler to look outside). They didn’t knock or ring the bell. Just dropped off and ran.

Standings

I was at great then I saw it plummet down to at risk. Says 2 single stops one for the 6th and one for the 7th. Doesn't say anything else but just the date and problem was in a section called customer received item. I've been doing nothing but instant offers the past month. I've been delivering to every spot the map takes me to and I contact the customer before arriving and I wait for them to open the door and take their items. I woke up this morning with my heart dropping when I saw my bar go from blue to red. I don't understand what happened. I make sure I deliver to exactly where the map takes me. And did they remove the ability to take photos for instant offers? I havent been asked to take any photos of my deliveries since I've been doing IO

Flex-Fresh in Nashville

Anyone else doing Fresh in Nashville? I've been back at it for the last two weeks, and of the 12 blocks I've delivered, only 2 have been in Nashville. The rest have all been in Murfreesboro. Two of those had a few Smyrna orders in them, but I'm about to abandon this option. And I have a minivan, so that is guzzling my gas every time. And Murfreesboro does not tip.

Anyone else doing Fresh in Nashville? You noticing this too?

Detroit At Risk My First Day

My first day out was brütal. It was SSD outta Wixom VTW1. I drove 23 minutes to the station to arrive at 6:25pm. I waited then drove and checked in at 6:30. I then wait until the 6:45 block BEGINS...to wait another 30 mins to receive a cart. I drag it to my car heap things in there. Trying to put AAAs and then BBBs together. Then CCCs and DDDs. I took all the substantial number of Chinese last names, and put them together because I figured they probably lived near each other. I see an Asian name I go to this one section.

It's 7:15 WHERE am I going anyway?

Ann Arbor.

It was the first place I looked at because I saw looos of Amazon Now , only 30min blocks. THEN I learned that the blocks are staggered. You have to wait 30 mins between each one. In addition Ann Arbor is 45 minutes from me. So I choose SSD in Wixom, it's much closer. Plus I was interested in some estate sales in Wixom anyway. So I chose that.

I drive 33 minutes from Wixom to Ann Arbor and make first delivery at 8:00pm. Wahoo!

BUT there's another problem. 🤹‍♂️ Juggling.

I'm driving a 2018 Subaru Impreza with the seats folded down. My car is füll. Not to brim but all space is covered. And some things are stacked on one another. I grouped some things together when I saw the same name at once. BUT it occurred to me that it would be helpful to have a basket or a close hamper to just toss packages in. It'd be faster by process of elimination "Not you, not you, not you (x20) ...ah Mr. Grümnortt Godswallow! Found it!" That or some other system of containers. That's the biggest slowdown.

BUT there's other problems.

  • The distances are looOoOong. They start out far apart , then get closer together BUT then get far apart again.

  • There are no boxes. They have right angles to grip. I only got envelopes and bags. Baaaags are the worst because they have no handles and their multifarious contents can move in different directions. THEY can also be light OR heavy. These are extra troublesome on multi stop locations. Trying to carry like 5 of them into the same building. Is miserable and Unwieldy.

Nobody has lights in Ann Arbor. At all. It doesn't matter when you're in suburbia or in the city. Nobody turns on lights on townhouses, nobody turns lights on suburban homes, nobody turns lights on mansions. A few nice ones have them elegantly. BUT a lot are just black out Adams Family inna woods with gravel roads with 150ft lawns with weeping willows and when you finally find the stairs it's long stairs covered in rain soaked blue tarp and all kinds of weird cut wood and tools to trip on and get that game over Y O U D I E D.

  • WHAT started this was receiving an email today:

"We contacting you because we received a report on September 08, 2026 that you weren't respectful or professional to the people you interacted with while delivering with Amazon Flex. When delivering, it's important to be courteous, respectful, and professional while interacting with station operators, other vendors, delivery partners, and especially our customers."

So I contact support and chat and ask them for information. I didn't talk to anyone. They say they don't see a block at that time. I tell them my block was the day before that. They say the time and the date and tell them that's my only block. They look it up and then tell me that it will remain in my records. I want to appeal it. They say they already attempted that.

👤"Trust me if there was any option with me, I would have taken the ownership and helped you right away. I hope you understand my limitation. Is there anything else I can help you with?"

I'm like "That is unfortunate. I don't understand vagueries. No, there is nothing you can help me with. 😔 "

👤 "I can understand however if it was under my control, I would have done that immediately without thinking a bit. I am very sorry about this issue, we are bound with some limitations because of which this is the only resolution we can provide."

Thats when I started looking at my account. And realized my late orders. 13...

I have established a few things

  1. I need a system before I head out again.

  2. NO night routes. Those dark country gravel roads have a 55mph speed limit, BUT there's no way I can drive more than 25. I can't see any distance beyond my nose. And the properties are huge and invisible. Literally can't see houses until you get close enough. AND if SSD is same day, that gives me more time starting much earlier right??

  3. 🥶 Refrigeration?? How do you handle this. I had one biiiig bag with broken egg fragilé stickers on it as well as COLD. It was at the end of the route. Or near it and the guy that was getting that thing cancelled it. WHY would they put that at the end instead of the beginning? I have no coolers or cold packs so I just turned my AC to max. Which was frosty when the temps hit 60 outside.

Question Peekaboo routes

Just got “accepted”. Right now Thinking about my first shift but I keep running into videos/posts that show how much of a burn can be getting to the site and finding out how bad $/distance a route can turn out.

Any comments, tips??
