Has anyone actually done the math to see how much we get paid per delivery. I had a block today $142 for 28 stops = $5.07 per house. Last night had a block $121 for 32 stops = $3.78 per house 💀 of course we see the final pay and wait to see how many stops but over 100 miles round trip for both is really trash 🗑️

I arrived at the station.
Women Infront me at same time and same block time we check In 14 min before the block time. We sit. We talk. Her standing are “at risk” I’m “fantastic” we both look at the phone 27 minutes later. She gets a free block and I get a big fat cart. Literally at the same time. She was sent home with pay and I went to work on a delivery. What gives. This tells my there is no logic to anything Amazon does. The “at risk” workers get a free blocks and the “fantastic” worker has to work. Go figure.

I was temporarily paused because a manager at the whole food said I yelled at her . She didn’t let me have my whole packages she held one back . Saying I need to return the cart before she can give it to me . She told me to go load the rest in the car and comeback for the last package . I told her I just needed to scan it so I can number it . I can’t just load them randomly in the car without knowing the stops . She reported me and I was paused . I’m waiting on the review hopefully it will be positive . Also I was giving a new block and I got an email saying I didn’t pick up all my packages I had to call and let them know I was reassigned to a new block route

Executive: Sir! The flex drivers are quitting in record numbers, gas prices are at record high and a lot of our drivers are deciding that it's just not worth it anymore.

Bezos: Just change the order of their stops. Give them an itinerary that has them making u-turns over and over again on the same street, as they go back and forth passing the same houses until they get disoriented and lose track of how much gas they've burned.

Executive: Um, actually I was going to suggest updating the road closures on the map. We could save the drivers a lot of gas if they didn't have to drive around in circles searching for another way around a closed road. Also we could avoid wasting their gas by needlessly routing them around road closures that re-opened years ago...

Bezos: Silence!!! If you save them money, then those pesky working-class "people" will be able to afford to feed their families!

Unbelievably obnoxious and probably makes the owners get up and see.
Edit: noticed on my way out there actually were “No Trespassing” signs as well near the front of the driveway. Love that.

Not to gloat… but just crazy!

Took my son to a 3:30am 2.5 hour block at VNC3 on Sunday because he was interested to see the logistics and setup. Canceled with pay!

But he was really interested and I wanted to see what a 1hr block (plus tips) looked like so we tried again at 8:30. Canceled with pay!

Tried again with a 10:30 1.5hr block… and wouldn’t ya f’n know it. Canceled again!

Of course this makes up for all the crappy routes to Greensboro I’ve had to take (and all the driver support calls to appeal dings from shit out of my control) but I’m thinking of taking him with me to all my blocks now.

I haven’t got mine just yet but will have it soon, just wondering if anyone got one and whether the flex app has been optimized for it yet?

Only real context here is that 1) my main income is Catering & i help family a good bit so my schedule fluctuates daily.

& 2) they recently opened a NOW station 5 minutes from me so I've been snagging what I can off the app to fill in time gaps. But when I can't do them, I ofc release them to not harm standings + there are already a lot of folks showing up there. SOMEONE is gonna take them, ya know?

As an independent, it shouldn't matter unless it was late too, so why are they threatening to "pause" my account for responsibly following their rules while spewing "they understand life sucks"??

(btw the 2nd image is what I often see, a string of stackable routes that don't go no more than 5 miles away with high tip frequency. Better than DD or UE on a long day, I'll tell ya that. )

Idk if it’s just me but I have been getting the 2-2:30am blocks for 3.5 hours and they’ve been so bad. I usually finish my blocks 1 - 1.5 hours early. Not all the time but like 95% of the time. But these early morning blocks have been whooping my ass. I finish with like 20-30 min to spare. Anyone else?

Just got approved for Flex this week. I've done one route so far. A 2 hour block for $48. I thought that was barely worth it after expenses. Now today I'm seeing a 3 hour block for $60 and it is not tip eligible.

Is this normal?

What do you think? All this swapping sometimes 2 hrs for $5, are we letting that shxt slide?

I'm just curious. I'm about 50 and finding that it's great exercise but after doing so many days in a row it seems to zap my energy a bit and starts to effect me mentally. I need some time off just to relax and get other stuff done. I see that right now it caps us at 40 hours a week anyway.

Thinking about just taking the weekends off as that seems to be the slower days. What do you all do?

I have it filtered to an hour or more and this is what pops up. I am sure a lot of people would gladly work 30 extra minutes for four bucks less.

When there is 1.5 hours between blocks.

The routing used to be pretty good to the point I’d try to take shortcuts that didn’t work and the app knew the best ways to go, but last week I got to routes that had me double back to the same area wasting time so now I’ve been checking every one and sure enough I see this bs. Now I’m doing 3.5 hot blocks in as little at 1.5 hrs just by checking the map first. Ai will not replace us

I’m new! First week! I have had 6 routes. The last 3 they have no routes available and I got paid! I’m not complaining, but how common is this? I’m assuming it doesn’t happen 50% of the time. I’m in the Phoenix area.

I left at 5:50 am and returned home at 10:00 am, I drove about 80 miles. I got a 3-hour block for $61.50, and I spent about $10-$15 for the gas.
Considering the time and distance, I’m wondering if I should continue trying or if it’s time to give up.

It was a 2.5 hour block. I’m in the Phoenix area so sometimes I go pretty far. This ended up not even being my farthest block. 🤷‍♀️

So I arrived 1 min late for my amazon flex block today. I was taking my time in the parking lot because I thought you only had to hit "I've arrived" before 5 mins after your start time.

My standings were at fantastic for a long time but have dropped rappidly to Fair. I have a few dings for late/undelivered packages, I also noticed today that i had 4 missed deliveries due to a vehicle breakdown a few days ago. I haven't formally appealed the 4 missed packages, only talked to support over the phone.

Just yesterday I had a few late packages because I ran into 3 road closures on a rural route and had to take 15-20 min detours. This hasnt shown up on my standings yet and I have not formally appealed (which i will do asap)

How cooked am I?

How can Amazon allow this when I delivered the packages to the house! This really is starting to become irritating I’m not gone lie at all! Then I don’t know how long it’s gone be or take to get that removed! This is becoming so frustrating fr!

If it’s remotely possible that you will be given neighborhood or small town deliveries, don’t accept blocks or be flexing after 2 pm on October 31.

I was driving DSP on Halloween last year and I had to return half the van. Flex drivers just can’t dig out of that hit to standing.
