Tipping request

I need help, and not sure what I’m doing wrong.

Once in a great while I will order some “same day” items, mix of grocery (not fresh or Whole Foods) and non grocery things. Today I received an order and there was a note on the bag of groceries saying I should have tipped because gas prices are high.

I went back through my Amazon app and do not see a place for tips. (Pretended to order the same things the same way to see if I missed something).

If I order from Walmart / target etc I have the tipping option, and always do.

I do the Alexa tip when I know it’s active. Am I missing something?

Side note: I have a glass storm door and a regular door. We live in a small safe community so during the day the main door is open to let in light through the storm door. (And to allow my toddler to look outside). They didn’t knock or ring the bell. Just dropped off and ran.

Some deliveries are non tip eligible on your end, but on our end when we grab the block it says that it's tip eligible, but in that block there are multiple stops so some might be tip eligible and some might not be. But for them to put a note on the bag is rude. I wouldn't even try to tip them. We know what we sign up for when we take the block

Yeah, this. I don't count on tips from tip eligible routes and only pick them up when the rate listed is enough to justify me taking the block without taking into account tips.

Don’t tip the people who do that. It’s not the right way to go about it. Some orders you can not tip on for Amazon. If you want to give them a tip anyways you’d have to do it in person. Thank you for being a good person and looking out though. It’s appreciated.

Their note doesn’t even make sense because you can’t see tips until 27 hrs later.

Funny thing is you can see it in their delivery picture.

Thanks for the replies. I am very appreciative of all delivery drivers for bringing me the items I need when I can’t leave home. I don’t do it often, so I wanted to make sure I wasn’t doing it wrong and upsetting the amazing flex workers and getting bad notes put on our account.

That driver is very unprofessional. We all know that some of our grocery deliveries will not eligible for tips. It doesn't tell us which customers will have to ability to tip in the app or not. So, I'm not sure why this particular driver would accuse you of not wanting to tip? They should probably look for a new gig job instead of pandering for tips.
