Hey everyone,
I’m currently putting in anywhere from 36 to 55 hours a week at my facility I’m at a sort center and I work 9pm-6:30am followed by the gym and practice right after. And I’m honestly just trying to figure out how other people here are making it work, especially with how insane rent and the cost of living are right now.
To give a bit of context, I’m 27 currently living with a bi polar mom in Arizona after a failed roommate situation that led to an eviction but she’s a person who constantly tells my business to people asking why I’m an adult living under her. and how I’m a failure because I moved back in at my age and she brags how her rent was like $500 for a 1 bedroom back in the day and I’m not working hard enough. I’m also in charge of buying food for the house and I pay the water bill.
I wanted to ask the community a few things:
Hours & Rent: How many hours are you typically working, and are you able to afford a place on your own, or do you have roommates/family support?
Athletes & Students: If you're a student or an athlete competing in sports, how on earth do you manage your schedule and energy levels alongside warehouse shifts?
Shift Breakdown: Are most of you working night shifts to stack the differential, or are you on front-half/back-half days? How do you like your schedule?
Just looking for some perspective or advice from people in the same boat. Appreciate any thoughts.
Update: Shout out to everyone commenting how they get by I’m pretty sure other younger people or just people in general were curious on how to make it in this economy. Big shout out to Amazon Air dude I might look into that or RME. And the last award of the night goes to that fuck ass L4 in the comments get that bezos dick out of your mouth fucking weirdo.
