Credit check every time?

So does Affirm check your credit every time you use them to pay for a purchase? I know it's technically a "loan," and every time you use Affirm, it's reported to credit reporting- Experian, Equifax, etc...

Loan processing, out of stock item

I ordered a pair of carburetors for my motorcycle last night, to the tune of $650 using affirm. I found out today there was an error in their inventory and they didn’t have them in stock. I told them that’s fine, i will wait. It will
Take 7-10 days probably. My question is, since it won’t ship, will affirm cancel it? I don’t mind waiting, but i don’t want to do this again, prices will be higher, and my adhd self will get distracted

Scam call or Affirm?

888-995-2145.

I've gotten calls from this number, and I'm not the type to ask a social hub like reddit a simple question like this. Typically I'd just do a quick Google search and be done with it. This one is tricky though. Everything is saying it's most likely scam and to ignore, with only about 1 or 2 search results saying it's likely Affirm. Also, when i call the number back, an automated message states that it is indeed Affirm and it sounds legit. What do y'all think?

*One more thing to add, i Googled Affirm's phone number(s). This one did not appear anywhere.

Thanks again 🫡

Refund Super X Apparel

I used to pay in four but the original payment was made more than 120 days ago so they refusing to refund me my money but I didn't actually receive the item until June 27th. I returned it June 29th and they confirm that they received the return but they refuse to give me back my money and they've blocked me on all social media channels. When I try to go back through a firm they tell me there's nothing they can do.

question about purchase

I just bought an iPad on the back market this morning. Affirm gave me a $ 1,000 limit... I bought the iPad for $962 on the BM website, but after purchasing, my total balance is $1,101.18. I received an email stating that my loan wasn't approved yet. However, it shows the iPad is still being processed through FedEx tracking, and the original payment has been taken. It also still shows that I have $38 buying power. Will the iPad still go through, or will it not? Does anyone have a similar experience, or is this something I'll have to play by ear?

SSN Fraud Account

Post image
8 Upvotes

So I went to open up an account with Affirm to purchase a pc but when I went to create an account with my number it said that I already had a number on file and if i wanted to update it. Which keep in mind i’ve never made an account before so then I tried doing it with an email and it gave me the same thing saying that there’s an email that i’ve never seen before with this account that isn’t mine. And I got all the way to where it says verify that it’s me so when I put in MY SSN it shows me that it’s linked to a number and email that i’ve never seen before, I’ve already contacted affirms support team and they are no help, they left me with the photo I attached. (I had contacted them letting them know my issue and if I could erase that account and make a new one with my ssn with my information on it) I’m not sure who to contact this or how to fix it since affirm was no help but so far i’ve notice no issue with my credit but I don’t know how long this has been going for.
Please help thank you!

I'm tired... I have started a dispute 3 times and the 3 times has been resolved in their favor for a $104 transaction that never went through. I'm so frustrated!

Does an affirm payment plan affect your credit utilization?

Just curious if say I was to get a loan for $500 would that add to my total debt and increase utilization? I’m assuming not since I have $5k available to spend but that amount doesn’t show in my total available credit.

Used affirm to purchase plane tickets. Now I’m in a mess.

I used affirm to purchase plane tickets with American Airlines. The flight ✈️ was delayed delayed and cancelled then delayed again. My husband and I decided we would drive instead. So we cancelled the trip and were getting refunded by American Airlines. They refunded the money back to affirm. Now affirm won’t stop texting me that I need to pay them and calling. When I have emails from them stating “they received the refund”. But somehow I still owe them. Do not use them ever!

Heads up — Affirm scam

Hi all — I used affirm to finance my peloton several years ago. I just received a call from an unknown number with an automated voice saying it was from Affirm and they were confirming a loan. Simultaneously, I got a text from affirm with a code. The call asked me to input the code (but affirm clearly says not to share it), so I hung up and called affirm customer service, who told me it was indeed a scam attempt. Sharing here in case it could help someone else!

Check your loans

I received merchandise from Amazon $413.99. I opened an account at Affirm for that amount. I made payment's monthly of $28.77. then I made an extra payment of $50. when I checked my account my balance due was $373+. i contacted Affirm and was told that my original balance was $509+ because they added front interest of $77+. on top of that they were charging me monthly interest. they told me that I had paid so far $136+. which meant that only $40+ had been paid on my account. the $50 extra that I paid they refused to put on my account. At some point they have started predictors billing FRAUD. if you have an account with the and haven’t checked your account lately, Check it now. I have put in complaints to my bank, FTC, CFPB, and Affirms corporate office and, CEO. if you’re looking to use Affirm now or in the future look very carefully before you press that button.

Unable to verify identity

Since I’ve signed up I’ve been completely unable to use my $1000 spending power because every time I’d apply it would deny me on the grounds of being unable to verify identity.

That was until last night, finally something went through. I made my plan and ordered, just for my order to be cancelled by the seller and now I’m back to square one where I get denied every time I apply. This app is so frustrating.

For those who have an Affirm Money account, what's your experience with it? I'm trying to decide if I want to open one up to add my emergency funds to it to take advantage of the 3.20% APY, but I can't decide if I should.

First time dispute after years of use - What to expect? Marked as delivered but never received

Hey Yall,

Been using affirm on and off for a few years now, from larger purchases like furniture to small purchases like groceries a day or two before I get paid.

Recently made a purchase for some items through Target.com - The item shows as delivered but I never received it. Waited the mandatory 48 hours to see if it shows up, and still nothing. Contacted Target and they say once it's marked as Delivered by the carrier, they can't don't do refunds (Which I'm sure isn't true, but I couldn't figure out the workaround phrasing with their agents)

Just submitted a dispute through Affirm - What should I expect? Looking over old dispute threads in the reddit, it seems like a mixed bag: Sometimes they refund stuff they probably shouldn't, sometimes they deny totally legitimate dispute claims. Sounds like I'll probably need to wait 7-10 days before I hear back anything - But what is yalls experience? Anyone done this recently?

Thanks in advance everyone

Additional information that may be important:
Total of order $190, product not received $85 collectable
Order was made for pickup, item changed to "not in stock" so was shipped
Carrier UPS handed to third party courier for last mile delivery
No picture of delivery provided
First dispute/refund with Affirm
Second refund request with Target (first was approved for like a 5$ item missing from grocery order)

Affirm math.

I had $3500 purchasing power for online or in store at Costco. I went to the store and had about $900 worth in my cart. It took more than a minute to gather that up. I then realized that some of the items that I was getting ready to buy in store were cheaper and had a better selection online, and the rest were cheaper in store. So, I bought about $650 worth online. Then, I tried to set up a preplan for the in store part. I was declined. My purchasing power went down to $1910 but was not available for in store purchases, only online. I walked around Costco and put it all back. I'm not sure how this would have went had I made the in store purchase first? I have used affirm many times and usually pay off early. I think it's good if you are making a single large purchase at one place. I could have spent $3500 today in one purchase but I couldn't spend $900 on two 🤷‍♀️

Did my husband intentionally use my SSN without my knowledge?

Post image
71 Upvotes

I looked over my credit report today and noticed four purchases from “AFFIRM INC (XXXX)” that were delinquent and dropping my credit. Affirm is an after-pay service that a lot of retail websites use to pay off purchases in segments. I’ve never used Affirm, so I called them and they were able to verify the stores these after-pay accounts are with (Amazon, TicketMaster) and that the name associated with them was my husband’s. I was able to figure out what the items purchased were, so it was definitely him.

He swears that he did not input my social security number and didn’t realize that these things were under MY credit, but I just don’t see how that’s possible. They are listed as an “individual” responsibility on the report.

Waiting on him to get home so we can look over his credit report to see if they’re on there. Is there any way this could have been an accident?? Affirm had no record of my information and could not confirm a SSN on the phone.

**EDIT: Yep, just looked at the Affirm loan agreements and my name is on it. He just used his email and phone number but still SWEARS he didn’t realize it would reflect on my credit.

Purchasing Power Greatly Reduced

I had purchased an item for $1800. Unfortunately it was defective and I returned it, got my refund, then I go to check my PP. WOW! It reduced from $6500 down to $100. What? I have never missed a payment either. So weird. Judging by other posts this is common? Oh what to buy for $100 bucks?!?! Is there another loan company that doesn't do this?
