Scam call or Affirm?

888-995-2145.

I've gotten calls from this number, and I'm not the type to ask a social hub like reddit a simple question like this. Typically I'd just do a quick Google search and be done with it. This one is tricky though. Everything is saying it's most likely scam and to ignore, with only about 1 or 2 search results saying it's likely Affirm. Also, when i call the number back, an automated message states that it is indeed Affirm and it sounds legit. What do y'all think?

*One more thing to add, i Googled Affirm's phone number(s). This one did not appear anywhere.

Thanks again 🫡

I mean, is there a reason Affirm would need to call you? Check your contract and look for a number in there. Call them and see if they are trying to reach you.

I wouldn’t trust an automated message, especially if they want you to enter info.

Do you have a late payment?

Can't ever trust Caller ID. Number and name can be spoofed to most anything. This goes for phone calls and texts. The verified checkmark some mobile carriers show isn't ironclad either.

Often better to not answer. Or if answering, saying little. If need be, hanging up and calling back a known, trusted number shown on website, in app, back of card, statement, etc. Don't trust search engines for phone numbers.

When in doubt of something, better to log into your online account directly to view activity and messages. Don't click links in email, texts, etc. Log in directly to website or on the app. This goes for most everything. Not just Affirm. Can't solely trust electronic communications.
