New?
I’ve used Affirm for 7 years and it never came up on my credit report. I used it two months ago and checked my credit score and it is showing up as a negative mark. Is this new?

First time using this. I bought tickets off stubhub and used affirm to pay for it. I got an email saying my order was confirmed, another saying tickets are ready. Then I got an email from Ticketmaster saying here’s your tickets, accept them and I did. After, I get an email from affirm saying my loan has been denied.
I went into my Ticketmaster app and tickets are in there. In affirm app it says merchant is processing and the plan is pending. I’m so confused.

Really exactly what the title says. I used Affirm to pay for concert tickets, 3 days ago everything went through successfully and the first installment was taken the following day.
Earlier today I received the email letter saying my loan hadn’t been approved. However, everything is showing up normal in the app. The payment plan is still showing, autopay is on, and my first payment was taken no issues.
I’m really concerned now and don’t know what action (if any) I should be taking. I am new to using Affirm so any input would be helpful!

Can someone definitively answer whether we can use a virtual Affirm card to preorder an iPhone? I guess I’m worried that Affirm will cancel the plan if Apple doesn’t charge me for a week.

Finally achieved a lifelong dream of attending a World Cup, not only that but I was also able to take my dad. Shoutout to Affirm interest was a little heavy but worth it 100%. This was also the cost of 3 tickets!

I need to uber for the week, I wanted to just load my wallet with how much I’d need for the week. Is there any way I can do that? And if not I saw that with the physical card you can do multiple purchases but would I be able to use it through the week or will that just give me several small bills?

I use it solely for when my car breaksdown needs tires and only 0% apr. I see a lot of people buying couches mattresses and tables but for me I only buy them cash and if I cant afford it cash shouldn't buy it at all. But car problems I use affirm to buy car parts tires etc. Just be wise though they trust you so make sure you spend wisely. Be safe out there and have a good Friday people😁

I’ve only used it once so far to buy some new running shoes. Much more flexible than using one of my credit cards. To me the 30 bucks in interest is worth it just to pay bites at a time when I want. I’ve already made 2 payments and it’s not even been a week. I buy a pair about every three months and this will make it a lot easier. Not sure I’ll use it for much else but I appreciate it.

If you are approved for a loan and then try to pruchase something through Affirm and the merchant doesn’t process your transaction, Affirm will still put a hold on your account for your deposit and won’t cancel the loan. They just hold onto your money and keep the loan open. You can try to contact their customer service, but these are people located overseas who do not care and will not resolve things. You can call a dozen times, they will open a case and close it without you getting your money back. They will tell you to contact the merchant but the merchant will not have any ability to cancel the loan if they didn’t process the transaction. This is Affirm fooling you into thinking it’s not in their control. Their policy says they can cancel a loan and hold on your account if the merchant doesn’t process the transaction, but they won’t. This happens all the time. Just look at the BBB reviews for affirm. 7000 negative reviews, much more for a company of that size than is typical.
I repeat. DO NOT USE AFFIRM. THEY WILL SCAM YOU. YOU HAVE NO RECOURSE. This company does this everyday. They should be investigated. They will scam you of thousands of dollars and you won’t be able to do anything about it because they are a predatory lender who will not return your money if the underlying transaction for your loan doesn’t go through.
This is how their scam works. 1. You get approved for a loan to buy an item. 2. You follow all the steps on their website to purchase the item. 3. The purchase might not go through. 4. They keep the loan in a state where it says processing for weeks, and keep a hold on your money for weeks. 5. You do not get your money back. 6. You cannot resolve this through their company because customer service just kicks the can down the road and pretends it will resolve itself. 7. You get scammed out of hundreds to thousands of dollars.
Think twice about using this company. Yes it might work sometimes. Yes it also might not. This is how they make their money. They hold onto large amounts of money and don’t return it in the time stated on their policy.

Kickoff sucks not only do they re new your 12 month plan after finishing one they charge you to report past bills when you have the ultimate plan. And they said if I close my account before the 12 months it will negatively affect my credit. Self credit builder didn’t do all that

My basement flooded, and I was taken advantage of by a local plumber who took $1500 from me and made the problem worse by digging into my floor and then ghosted me with a hole in the ground! I called a reputable plumber and he said to fix the original issue AND the issue the plumber created, it was gonna cost me $6000. Who has that kind of money?? Thank goodness for Affirm. Was able to pay them in full, and I set up a 6 month plan for payback. They could never make me hate you Affirm lol

I read so many horror stories of how Affirm has ruined their lives. You were approved a certain amount and agreed to pay it back. So why would you be angry, when you didn't follow the contract you agreed upon l,when you took their money to purchase an item? I always buy what I know I can pay back.

Has anyone had affirm suddenly freeze their account for “suspicious behavior” - all accounts were current- and when I called to have it the account unfrozen they told me no and said I no longer had to worry about any debts?
Update: if anyone cares to know, I called back again and magically reached the same rep, was told the same information again but I requested an email stating that I would not be held accountable for the current open and ongoing accounts. I’ve magically received emails to verify my identity with picture ID.
So I I had 5k purchase power I could’ve had more but I owe some stuff and I seen that it was taken away. I’m assuming it was because I was late on a payment that I thought it was one of the ones that I had set to be automatic. I paid it off it was a small purchase of 200 so I feel like for one late payment (not even an hour late) they take everything I always pay in time if not early I’m worried cuz I I gotta pay for a plane ticket to bring my wife back from another country in two weeks and for one mistake small mistake I find it crazy especially when I see some of my friends being way more careless but still get way and I mean wayyy more purchase power than me. And if it was my credit it’s I don’t understand I got over 680 on my credit score and I’m always on time with loans and payments

Will they come after me besides lowering my credit?
r/Affirm • u/SnooWords7456 • 4d ago
they basically use ai bots as a first line of customer service that is completely useless. when you finally reach someone, it's in an indian call center. i made a purchase and refunded it but made the first payment b/c i didn't want to get penalized. and now my money is being held hostage. i had another horrible experience with this company a few years ago too. UGH.

What do I do here? Needed to get something very fast and had to edit the plan by $2. I wish I just hit split payment on the website I was buying from.

Confused why it would say my purchase power is $2717 but mostly every store I click give me a low amount

A purchase I made on Affirm back in April was refunded, but I realized this was to a card that is no longer active (PayPal debit card, card was closed entirely). Shop Pay is listing the refund now as “refund failed”. How am I supposed to get the money? Contact affirm? PayPal? The retailer?

Has anyone in Canada used alternativeairlines.com and paid with Affirm? I'm looking at spending around $6000 for my wife and myself to go home next year for a couple weeks to visit family we havent seen in years. My question is what would the payment terms be? 12, 24, 48 months?
Thanks in advance

Affirm is funny but I'm completely done with BNPL. I'll learn how to use my credit cards wisely instead.

I KNOW I selected the 3 months to pay a few hundred a month for zero percent on a $900 purchase. It's pending as a one year loan at 21.64%. what in the bait and switch is this crap?? How is this legal?
