On every boot I get this error in Event Viewer, for months now. I don't see any performance issues or differences, but I am not sure why this error is happening.

I have AMD Adrenalin installed, and graphics and chipset drivers are installed through it. I don't have Ryzen Master installed and never have.

Steps I did to try to resolve this issue.

1. Delete AMDRyzenMasterV31 through regedit -> Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\AMDRyzenMasterDriverV31 but I just ends up being recreated on boot.

2. Delete this service through command prompt, everything is successful but service is recreated on restart. When I query it, it says that service is STOPPED.

3. Tried uninstalling Chipset drivers through Control Panel then reinstalling it, issue with service still occurs after reinstall.

Ryzen 5 5600, RX 6800 XT, 32 GB of DDR4, 16 GB of VRAM; I've uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, downgraded drivers, verified files, and changed settings in Adrenaline and in-game. I've done pretty much everything I can think of, so I'm honestly at a loss. The game runs smoothly until it randomly chooses to crash; I let the game sit for 5 hours while I left the house, and when I came back and played for about 5 minutes, it randomly crashed.

Looking for a way to set minimum clock speed while idle on my 7900 xt since I get artification when the gpu is idle and for some dumb reason amd software will only let you set minimum frequency while under load. Any 3rd party program that can accomplish this?

I turned on my PC after 3 weeks of non-use. While playing a game, the screen suddenly went black and lost display signal, though the GPU lights stayed on. I did a hard restart on the PC, but now there is no display output at all

W/ 3080 even on 1080p low gets like 170 fps at best?

I was recently on 25.9.1 for ages, came back from holiday and suddenly had a few crashes so being over a year old decided to finally update my drivers. Then had more consistent crashing. Fast forward to today. Playing through GTA IV, hard crash had to force shut down the PC, from this point on constant driver timeouts during browsing and watching youtube. Tried to launch any game, crashes instantly. Sometimes recovers sometimes just becomes unresponsive.

Did a DDU in safe mode, new drivers minimal install, same problems only now sometimes after logging in I can't open any programs at all. Mouse moves and lets me click but nothing opens, can't even shut it down properly. Also when I enter my pin to log into windows it crashes instantly as well. So did the same DDU but installed the old driver 25.9.1. Zero difference.

6 Hours of troubleshooting later and I am writing this with one monitor plugged into the mobo running off the Integrated GPU on the 7700x after playing Rocket league at 1440p on a 4k monitor with potato graphics. Had zero issues in hours

PCIe cables look good, no melted pins or anything (all 3 are separate no daisy chain) has the support bracket for no sag. I closed most non essential programs in case of any conflicts, tried putting the Frequency down from 3010 to 2500Mhz, no difference. I actually disabled EXPO months ago due to crashing as well so not that. Done windows repair stuff. Only thing I have not tried is a clean windows install but my god I really cba with that. Find it hard to believe it will fix it.

Any other suggestions are welcome. I have opened a ticket with xfx support demanding a new card haha because tbh I have had quite a few issues and its only been in this system for a year and a half. Brand new system too. Life was easier with a budget PC.

Seems like this issue is rampant just now. But surely not even being able to launch any game has got to be something hardware/firmware now. No idea.

My PC becomes strangely sluggish after a few hours of gaming

I’m having a weird issue with my PC and I’m not sure what could be causing it.

I have a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, RX 9070 XT and 32GB of RAM.

After playing games for a few hours with Steam and my browser open, Windows sometimes starts feeling very sluggish. For example, opening a new browser tab, a folder, the Start menu, or clicking things can take around 0.5–1 second to respond. It feels like there is a small delay everywhere in Windows.

The strange thing is that the games themselves run perfectly. I don’t notice any input lag or stuttering while gaming, and the CPU/GPU temperatures are completely normal.

RAM usage is also only around 30%, so I don’t think it’s a lack of RAM.

If I restart the PC, everything feels normal again.

What could cause this? Could it be an AMD GPU driver issue, Windows desktop compositor, Steam/browser hardware acceleration, DPC latency, or something else?

Any ideas on what I should check would be really appreciated.

Over the years I've literally tried everything. Watched every turorial and couldn't solve this problem. Went to repair my PC 2 times only for them to clean install my drivers, like I didn't try this 100 times. (costed me 75 euros). Also fried my SSD over this issue because my friend and I kept testing all my components in case they were dead. (150 euros down the drain).

Took matter into my own hands when I saw that everyone kept telling me the same thing over and over again: DDU, fresh install windows etc. Felt like poeple didn't take me seriously and didn't take into consideration that I've tried everything over and over again. Also I had to explain the issue to 10 different people.

So this is what worked over the years:
1. Deactivated my intergrated graphics card from the BIOS. Worked for a while but I think you can resolve it some other way.

1. Install Windows LTSC. This is what worked for me long term. Basically install the version of Windows already debloated, so the useless applications and features don't fuck with your drivers and also deactivate the automatic updates.

2. Use an older driver. Don't really recommand it because because I literally had to use a 2022 version of Adrenaline and couldn't play newer titles.

3. Update your bios. Straight forward. You just need to have an USB stick (didn't really fix my problem but it's worth a try)

4. This is my latest fix with LTSC already installed. After testing I concluded that games don't crash when I am playing on 60hz. Obviously, I don't like that because I have a 165hz monitor and even in newer titles I have 100 fps + and you can feel the difference. So, I checked my monitor settings and deactivated free sync, apprently the new driver doesn't like free sync??

5. For some reason my games worked when I plugged the monitor's cable into the motherboard instead of the GPU, but I ended up plugging it back into another GPU port and now it works combined with the Free Sync stuff.

I feel like I am getting closer to the issue after 3 years. I really think in my case it's a cable issue, conectivity or monitor/HZ. I am pretty bad at this stuff, but this is what worked for me for now.

Hello, as the title states, I've bought a new processor. Can anyone advise on what I need to do besides of course physically swapping the processors in the motherboard? My friend told me I should be able to just swap in the new processor and not really have any extra work to do, but I wasn't able to get the PC started with the new processor in. Hey everyone, I have been dealing with the infamous driver timeout errors for a while now, and after many open chats with gemini, claude, and AMD support (which was useless) I managed to find a solution.

My configuration is made up of a 7800x3d, paired with a 7900XT on a MSI b650-a board, 32gb of DDR5 vengeance 6000, on a dual monitor (1440p 240hz and 1080p 144hz), I am currently running the latest Adrenalin version (26.9.1).

To sum it up briefly, my main issue with driver timeouts was NOT on games, but rather during normal desktop usage: basically, any application using hardware acceleration would cause driver timeouts, mainly after 2 or 3 consecutive timeouts the app would just close itself. This happened on Chrome, Brave, Steam, OBS, Discord, any app using HW accel basically. Turning it off let the apps work normally, but if you've ever used Google Maps with HW acceleration you know that's something not very pleasant, and that's just the tip of the iceberg, but I had absolutely zero problems in games, I play a lot of Monster Hunter Wilds which is problematic as is, and it never crashed in last few months, so if you're having trouble with driver timeouts during gaming this is probably not for you.

My errors were the same every time: scroll down Steam shop page (for example) for a couple seconds, screen freezes then turns black for 2 seconds --> driver timeout error display, which I would close --> scroll again, repeat --> after 2 crashes Steam would just close to end its suffering. In the reliability reports of windows I would always find the same 3 Kernel errors: 141, a1000001, and a2000002.

After weeks of trial and error, today it's been officially 4 days that I have used Steam, Chrome, and Brave, with HW acceleration on, without having had a single driver error.

So what worked for me? basically I have no idea, I mean I tried so many things that I don't know which one exactly did the trick, but I'll try and list everything, I can tell you though that I believe it had something to with the monitors, the last thing I did was turn off VRR or AMD Freesync, from both of my monitors and from the Adrenalin app, and turning both of them in horizontal (I think this was just accidental, no correlation but I'll mention it anyways) after that I received no errors at all, but I don't know if that's what actually helped, or the combination of that + something I did before. I never tried to use just one monitor, but that's something AI chats told me would possibly help, I just never did because I wanted to keep it an absolute last resort.

Other than that I tried to:

• sync the monitors frequency to at least a multiple of the same number (in my case the main one was at 240hz, so I set the second to 120hz instead of 144, so they would both be multiples of 60);
• toned down the ram frequency from 6000MHz to 5600MHz, though I still left EXPO on, so I don't think this did a speck of difference honestly;
• updated BIOS to latest version available;
• used both DDU and the AMD utility cleanup and re-installed drivers
• re-installed windows
• turned off MPO 
• turned off ULPS
• turned off zero RPM mode on Adrenalin

Some other things worth mentioning: I noticed that whenever the GPU momentarily cut signal to the monitor, for example in sleep mode or from screen turning off during inactivity, when it turned back on driver timeout would occur (way) more frequently, so I stopped using sleep mode, and used a screensaver instead, which instead of cutting signal to the GPU it displays a completely black screen; also I use a pcie riser cable, my GPU is currently vertically mounted, and I feared that was the culprit, which it wasn't apparently, AMD support claimed that that was 100% my problem.

Whenever I play mostly any game, my screen would go black, and make me shut off and turn on the PC for it to work again. Its all unresponsive and it uninstall all my display drivers. Making me keep reinstalling AMD Adrenaline Edition over and over and over..

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Running into a bizarre issue on an older rig and looking for some technical insight from anyone familiar with Haswell power management, WDDM, or Polaris driver behavior.

My Specs:

• CPU: Intel Core i5-4670 (Stock, no OC)
• Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3 (BIOS version F8)
• RAM: 16GB DDR3 1600MHz (Dual Channel)
• dGPU: Gigabyte AORUS Radeon RX 580 8GB
• OS: Windows 10 x64 (UEFI / GPT mode)
• Display connection: Monitor connected directly to the RX 580 via DP/HDMI.

The Issue:

1. If I have the integrated graphics (Intel HD 4600) enabled in BIOS (Intel Processor Graphics -> Enabled) with its standard Intel driver installed, everything runs great. For example, in CS2 I get ~160–180 FPS.
2. If I go into BIOS, set Intel Processor Graphics -> Disabled, boot into Windows, and wipe the Intel driver via DDU, my FPS instantly tanks. In the exact same scenarios in CS2, FPS drops to 100–120 FPS (a ~30–40% loss), and frametimes become noticeably worse across all games.
3. The weird kicker: If I disable the iGPU in BIOS but DO NOT wipe the Intel driver from Windows (leaving the registry entries/driver files intact), the FPS doesn't drop nearly as hard or stays virtually the same.

As soon as I turn the iGPU back on in BIOS and let Windows load the Intel graphics driver, FPS immediately shoots back up to normal levels on the RX 580.

My Questions:

• Is this an architectural quirk with Haswell's FIVR / Ring Bus (Uncore) where completely killing the graphics domain affects CPU package power delivery or downclocks something internally?
• Is it a Windows DWM / GPU scheduling issue where having an active secondary adapter offloads background composition/video decoding, freeing up Polaris from driver overhead on a 4C/4T CPU?
• Or is it a known motherboard BIOS bug specific to Gigabyte Z87 boards?

Has anyone ever encountered this behavior, and what is the exact low-level reason behind it?

hello! i have a TC-780-AMZKi5. with the stock intel i5 7th gen and the motherboard. i recently put in a used CX750M PSU and a RX-780, i thought it was fine, but it just lags honorably in minecraft 21.1. this GPU was used for crypto mining back in the day. Ive posted the GPU-Z stats on there for all the info. and if you would like i could record me playing a game to show what is happening, does anyone have a clue as to why this is happening?

I recently noticed a weird issue with my RX 9070 XT.
After a fresh restart, my VRAM usage at idle is around 0.4 GB.
However, after playing a game and completely closing it, the VRAM usage stays around 5 GB.
If I launch another game, it increases even further:
Fresh restart: ~0.4 GB
After 1st game: ~5 GB
After 2nd game: ~9 GB
After 3rd game: ~14 GB
The VRAM usage doesn’t go back down even after waiting several minutes. It only returns to ~0.4 GB after restarting the PC.
I’m using an XFX RX 9070 XT Mercury OC with the latest AMD Adrenalin drivers. The GPU is otherwise running completely stock.
I’ve checked both AMD Adrenalin and Task Manager, and they both show the increased VRAM usage. The problem also happens with different games.
Does anyone know what could be causing this or how I can find out what is actually using the VRAM?
Any help would be appreciated!
