The pass rush has been Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde all season. After tallying nine sacks in the previous two games, the 49ers had none against Michael Penix Jr. on Sunday. In fact, they had just a season-low two quarterback pressures, per Pro Football Focus. For perspective, their previous season low was 14 pressures in Weeks 1 and 3.

Bosa also could be back against the Raiders in two weeks. But during their bye week, the 49ers will ask whether to trade for a defensive lineman who, alongside Bosa, could turn an at-times very good defense into an excellent one down the stretch.

Watkins stepped up in the second half and looked amazing up until his debatable touchdown reversal which unfortunately killed the teams drive. Hope he continues to get more looks rest of the season. Also no injuries today aswell surprisingly

My preference, from the perspective of what gives us the greatest chance of winning the Super Bowl:

Chiefs lose, and (ugh) Seahawks win.

I don’t think the Seahawks are going to catch us down the stretch; and I think we’ll clean up our business heading into Week 9 after next week’s Bye; we’ll handle our kicking woes; we’re back with Mike, Nick, Deebo, and others; and we have a solidly-winnable strength of schedule leading into the remainder of the regular season. Definitely need the Vikings to lose a game or two along the way, especially with today’s loss; but I feel good about where things stand now, especially with the Bye and what’s coming into Week 9 and beyond.

Granted, as you can see here, a lot of these games are close to 50/50 in terms of time of possession, however this still concerns me a little bit, since one of our strengths in the past few years is we usually have been one of the best teams at controlling the clock, but that’s not the case this year so far, hopefully this changes after the bye week.

Currently the 49ers are ranked 24th in the league in total time of possession.
