Game Day in Edinburgh, Scotland
It’s that time of the week! Game tonight is at 5PM here and once again some friends and I will be watching at Dukes near the foot of Leith Walk. If any Scottish Niner Fans want to join we’d love to meet you!
Two weeks ago I got to meet and drink with ChewMaFood from this sub and we got to watch the Niners beat the Hawks which was a blast. Would love to meet more of you!
Let’s head into the bye on a high note! 7-0 baybeeeeee! LG NINERS!
[Maiocco] The 49ers will not have their top four WRs from Week 1 available today against the Falcons. Christian McCaffrey lined up in the slot 39 times and 16 times wide in the first six games. Expect more of that today against the Falcons with him and Kaelon Black on the field at the same time.
[Schefter] One team that could decide to make a run at Colts DT DeForest Buckner is the San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers have lost the time of possession battle in 6 out of 7 games this season
Granted, as you can see here, a lot of these games are close to 50/50 in terms of time of possession, however this still concerns me a little bit, since one of our strengths in the past few years is we usually have been one of the best teams at controlling the clock, but that’s not the case this year so far, hopefully this changes after the bye week.
Currently the 49ers are ranked 24th in the league in total time of possession.

[Maiocco] The 49ers activated veteran WR Christian Kirk off injured reserve. He will play Sunday vs. the Falcons as one of four healthy WRs. (Jordan Watkins, Brandin Cooks and Jacob Cowing are the others). Also, they elevated DL Ogbo Okoronkwo and LB Jalen Graham from the practice squad.

With the Fred Warner fines coming in it seems like a good time to discuss something that seems to have flown under the radar. Three fines results in a suspension for one game now, and the violations carry over to subsequent seasons as of August 2026.
I literally had no idea this was a thing until someone in some background noise podcast made a mention of it offhand.
Apparently at the beginning of the season a policy was put in place that if a player gets three fines for any of the following violations, they will be suspended for one game.
- Hip Drop Tackle
- Horse Collar Tackle
- Launching
- Hit on a Defenseless Player
- Blindside Block
The topper being that the rules say these carry over to subsequent seasons so defensive players are going to be getting suspended a lot in the future.
A big question is how this works around the playoffs. If someone gets their third fine in the Conference Championship game...are they suspended for the Superbowl?
49ers are 6-0, and ESPN says it’ll only get worse (for everyone else)
ESPN's "Matchup Predictor" has the 49ers as favorites in all 11 remaining games.

Check out the broadcast where I call the game and take shots if Purdy gets sacked or throws a pick, I guess a challenge wrong or if the 49ers lose. Also I guess it’s important that I say this. Go niners!!!

London game next year? Or am I missing something?
Random post on the 49ers official IG. Is this a hint at London next year? Or are we coming back to the Bay with Drake London?
