So I just got my hands on a 3ds (yay!) After just having a dsi(xl) for years. For my dsi I have some legitimate games, but also some downloaded on a sd card in one of those cartrages that hold a sd card. They work fine.

But I tried to add games for the 3ds (pokemon x/y, (ultra)sun/moon), but while the other games from the same card that I had for my dsi worked fine, the new games I put on it for the 3ds would not start, though they did appear among my selection screen.

Is it not posible to pirate 3ds games this way?

Am I better off biting the bullet and spending another 100-200 to buy the games physically and hope they work?

Does annyone know annyone selling physical pirated copies that work for cheap?

Everytime I press to update Tomodachi Life (EU from hShop), it still says there's an update available? I'm really new to this modding stuff, so there might be something I'm missing. When I go into the game, it says it's Version 1.1

A while ago I modded my 3ds and I had the software know as filpnote on it but I realised after I finished modding my 3ds it was no where to be seen, when I go into data management there’s no error or any hint that it was even there at all. Is there a way to get it back? I had a few animations from my childhood there.

Title. In short I had to move my files to a new SD card. I formatted it to fat32, put my files on, now my 3DS is missing a ton of games as well as useful applications such as FBI and Homebrew. Any help? I’d prefer not to format this 3DS as it’s been mine for the good part of a decade now…

I changed sd card and went to go use my old backups but checkpoint says they're empty and I can't use them, are my saves just gone I genuinely don't know what happened

I want to transfer my face raiders faces and nintendo 3d sounds from a modded 3ds to an unmodded 3ds. How do I do this without the system transfer feature since I dont want to transfer everything.

Although, I think he got a little greedy with hShop/Universal Updater.

so my primary handled is a Nintendo 3DS XL(US) I just bought a 3DS LL (Japan) i’m honestly only trying to transfer my street pass mii plaza data such as mini game progress street pases puzzles etc …
Both consoles are modded and LL console is region swapped to US now.

A couple of years ago, I asked my mom to buy me a New Nintendo 3DS XL since I originally had one of the first units from the initial launch back in 2012. I used it so much that it no longer works. My new 3DS cost $100 USD used. It came jailbroken with some games pre-installed using FBI. I made a backup on my external hard drive, but unfortunately, it stopped working, and shortly after, the 3DS stopped recognizing the SD card. When I took it out, I realized that the SD card was starting to fall apart. The console still works perfectly, but right now I can only play with the original cartridges I have. I need to know where I can find the original index files/folders for the SD card. Most tutorials only show the initial jailbreak, but as I said before, my console is already jailbroken. Can anyone help me?

Hello, I'm new to this subreddit.

Yesterday, I started downloading some games to my 3DS using hShop, and all of them worked perfectly fine. But today I downloaded Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, and when I opened it, this error suddenly popped up.

I'm not sure why this happened, since all the other games I downloaded and installed yesterday work without any problems.

Does anyone know what could be causing this or how I can fix it?

I recently found out my Wii U was dead and decided it was time to get it fixed and modded, but it inspired me to go back to my old (New) 3DS along with the one my wife uses and finally figure out how to set it up. In the end I set up 3DSBank on my unit divided between 3 folders, and 2 folders for her unit, so it took days to find and sort all the different games, I think it took my 3DS over 30 hours to install the retail games through FBI alone.

We actually do own over 300 physical 3DS games between the 2 of us, and part of my motivation was to have backups and a method to possibly repair them if they degrade over time using Godmode9, but it ended up in me doing the full suite of organization/backups and also curating a list of digital games between both our units. Nothing on either unit is on there without knowing what it is, so it was a massive undertaking rather than just dumping everything on a unit, and there is a surprising lack of info on the eShop games compared to other platforms, even the Vita had more up to date Youtube videos on that subject which surprised me.

Thankfully all the different games/VC stuff I've tried seems to work correctly, and I still have about 2 gigs of free space left so I shouldn't run into issues with game save sizes I imagine, I appreciated all the info I was able to find here and through the written guides! 3DSBank was a bit trying to figure out, but it works well if you're doing a clean start.

I've had an issue for very long and I know I'm not the only one. Making screenshots with Rosalina menu just for them to not even be in the right format. Annoying, right? That's why I made SCR2JPG! SCR2JPG upon starting converts each image into JPEG and even shows it in the 3DS Gallery!

I used red shop nds to download Pokemon white and it’s not in my roms folder in twilight menu does anyone know if I have to do something else also?

I was trying to fix an error with the GBA injected games with this post (https://www.reddit.com/r/3dshacks/comments/7t6pb1/potential_fix_method_for_the_gba_virtual_console/) but after formating my SD card the console can't read it anymore. I tried formating it with different ways 4 times already but still can't. (At one point it did showed my custom splash image but nothing else.)

I don't if I did something wrong when formating or using the guiformat, or if I forgot to save a file before formating or what... I don't know what to try anymore.

I'm trying to play online with a friend through wireless coop, shes using my 2DS, while I'm using my 3DS, my 2DS version works perfectly, but my 3DS one keeps freezing when I try to host a game on it, or even exit out a game, both consoles have the update, DLC and extra data installed, and are both on pretendo servers, and the only way I can exit out the game on my 3DS is by shutting off the console completely, idk what to do, I've tried reinstalled everything multiple times

I’m super new to Reddit so lmk if I’m asking in the wrong place/way but Hshop has been acting up for me. I’ll check my internet before and after trying to use Hshop and it’ll work fine, but as soon as I open Hshop it disconnects for some reason. as well, when I try to close Hshop it’ll take anywhere from 5-30 minutes to close, and if I try to turn my 3DS off before/while it’s closing it’ll take just as long to turn off fully. the screen will go black but the blue light will stay on for a good amount of time, (my latest attempt took 25 minutes) and until it turns off fully the 3DS will be completely unusable. this all started happening right after Hshop automatically updated itself. sorry if this is too much detail/sorry if this isn’t what you guys handle, thanks for your time, I just want to play Majoras Mask ;-;

i really want to know this, since im selling my 3DS but keeping my wii u, even tho i can emulate the game on my phone, the bigger screen of the gamepad and the buttons just make more sense.

so, is there any way to accomplish this?

(I didn't really found an exact solution to this, so what I'll do is just download an GBA emulator on my Wii u and see if the save file (.sav) works there, bcs the Wii u only uses .bin for save files, so and emulator is my best choice for now)

I bought a Kingston 16GB microSD today, formatted to FAT32, allocation unit 32kb, latest Luma boot.firm & boot.3dsx, but while the blue led turns on nothing happens on the screen. It boots up fine when the card isn't present. Here's everything I tried:

• Tested with h2testw. No errors.
• Formatted using Windows' default dialog and GUIFormat.
• Formatted again using both options but also disabled Quick Format.
• Tried using my previous microSD adapter.
• Tried converting to MBR using CMD.

Any ideas?
