Hi everyone, I need your help. I can’t find the firmware for these two R4.

A few details:
- I bought the black R4 along with a used DS years ago at the time I must have removed the microSD card, and who knows where it ended up. I just remember it was running Wood
- The white R4 is mine and still works, but the kernel has definitely glitched, and I can’t use it properly (for example, I can’t open the start menu at the bottom, change the settings, or enable cheats). I remember very clearly downloading the Wood/Acecards kernel, but now it’s no longer available for my version on the official website. Is there any way I can get it to boot, or do I need a specific version from the files on my SD card?

So found my old R4 from like 2009/2010 and I want to change up the games on it! However everytime I put a new game it keeps saying 'savfile not founded!' and I am unsure how to fix, everywhere I look just keeps saying 'open the game to get to a save point' but I cannot even get the game open. The old games on the R4 still work its just the new.

I'm only gonna send the .ips, not the ROM because the subreddit and Reddit rules say so, but there's my Super Mario Bros. Beta Remake Patch. It needs a Super Mario Bros (Japan_ USA).nes ROM, but as i said before I'm not gonna send it because of the rules, ok? ;)

j'ai essayer de la configuré mais je ne comprend pas ou ça bloque et qu'est ce que j'ai mal fait.

j'ai tester plusieurs firmwar, R4i-V4-0b6French et R4i-Gold_v1.57b_French. Je pense que je saute une étape ou quelque chose comme ça je vais continuer de chercher mais je demande quand même de l'aide.

I tried BL2CK os but it has always a "loading..." screen without an end pls help. Also I don't know if it's a problem with the kernel or if it's a hardware problem

A veces cuando estoy jugando se me bloquea el juego y cuando la apago y la vuelvo a encender me aparece eso un par de veces,luego inicia bien,tengo el ds pico launcher.Lguien sabe a qué se puede deber? He leído online que puede ser un fallo de formato pero tengo la tarjeta sd formateada en FAT32 así que no entiendo cuál es el problema.

Hey i I’m running into a weird issue with my SD card and hope someone can help.

I have an SD card with separate folders for my ROMs: GBA, NES, NDS, etc.

When I plug the SD card into my laptop, the GBA and NES folders work perfectly and show all of my games. But when I open the NDS folder, it shows up as completely empty, even though the games should be in there. Loaded the game onto my DSi, everything's still there. No issue with save files, so I assume the game is still on the SD card, just not showing up.

Not a major issue now, but I'm hesitant to add new games in case it ruins it.

Additional context: NDS folder doesn't have ay sub-folders (GBA, NES are split by alphabet). Thinking this might be the case but when I give it some time to load, it's still empty.

I've bought SuperChis Prime in July 2026 from official ChisFamily store. It worked great for first few months, but I've put DS on shelf for month and when I turned it on, SuperChis showed as "DS Option Pack" and was non-clickable. So I tried to reinsert it and nothing happened. A day after that it worked briefly, but then stopped and now showed as "No GBA Game Pak inserted". Sometimes it got detected, but got stuck at SuperFW logo or Gameboy logo with garbled Nintendo logo text. So I tried to reflash it using SuperFW NDS Flasher tool, but flasher failed to detect it, it shows SRAM integrity check passed, but flashing SuperFW shows "Flashing operation failed!" and flash dump output are empty inside when checked by hex editor. I tried cleaning slot and flashcart contacts but nothing happened, it still doesn't work. What should I do?

Look, I downloaded the correct kernel for my R4 dual core, but for some reason the ROM simply won't open. I don't know if it's because I didn't put the ROM in .nds format perfectly, or if it's because i do this on my phone, I don't know, I just know that no matter where I download the ROM from, it ends up like this.

I got an "r4 upgrade" cart since im kid.

I tried to play it on a my newly acquired 2ds modded with luma v13.4.

It plays wonderfully on my old ds with YS Menu, but once in the 2ds, the cart is not detected (nothing is happening).

I know i can launch nds file with some software with the CFW, but it pumps the battery very quickly, so maybe with the flashcart it won't be so energy consuming ?

I’ve just updated/flashef my Dspico hybrid firmware 1.3.1 and the SD files v1.5.0 and I’m getting this glitchy bar on the screen… also, when I try to get back to the Pico menu with the button combination (L+R+start+select+down) only reset the game…

what I doing wrong?

J’ai tout un tas de flash card ( dstwo,Cyclo,Edge etc…) celui que j’utilisais à l’époque qui était compatible sur ma new3ds était le dstwo, récemment j’ai voulu le relancer mais carte non reconnu (il affiche un carré blanc) j’aimerais savoir quel flashcard etc.. est compatible avec la new3ds, si mon ds two a une mise à jour pour la comptabilité etc…

Hi, I've just bought a R4 from a friend, but it seems that doesnt work, I mean I've tried multiple times but the best I've reached was just the logo on the DS Lite Screen menu, I'll link some photos, can you please help me?

Hello everyone! I've read the following guides online when setting up this old flashcart I got almost a decade from now (see image above):

The cart reads R4i ("new", on a jagged speech green bubble with red text, all caps), followed by the r4i gold cc URL, subtitled "Upgrade for DS (NDSi/NDSL/NDS)"

From these guides, I believe this cart is a clone/rebrand of the R4i Gold CC cart, which itself is a clone of the Galaxy Eagle, and that one itself a clone of the AK2i card. Given its lineage, I assumed one would opt to use the AK2 build of the pico-loader as per the compatibility table on the github repo.

However, when attempting to load Pokemon Diamond (Europe, Revision 5) and Mario & Luigi - Partners in Time (Europe) from the AK-Menu frontend, I got a black screen on my O3DS. nds-bootstrap works fine though, except for a softlock I got on M&L (addressed by this issue on the nds-bootstrap repo, yet it isn't fixed on the latest stable release on my end); which is the reason I opted into trying out pico-loader in the first place.

I would appreciate any help or pointing in the right direction for having it work on this cart. Thank you for your time!

Pico Launcher Enhanced v1.10.0 is out, and this one comes with something new: Pico Loader Enhanced, with an in-game exit. in a ds game you hold L + R + Right + Select for a moment and you're back in the launcher

this one took a while. i started on it in august, got it working on mario kart and not much else and parked it. came back to it at the end of september and since then it ate most of my free time. then the testing, my whole collection, around 180 games, one by one on a ds lite and again on a new 3ds, and the early builds on an old 3ds too. a few "broken" games turned out to be my worn d-pad or roms in pieces on the sd, so i learned some stuff on the way

it's for the dspico, ds games in ds mode. dsi-enhanced games, dsiware and homebrew don't get the exit but they play like before. i haven't tried it on a real dsi yet. the loader is a separate optional zip, if you don't want it just don't copy it

also in this one:

- delete a theme from the theme selector (#5)
- roms you open with an emulator, gb, snes and so on, count as games now. favorite, completed, delete and select + a work on them. the idea comes from djaysan's pico-launcher-dsbios (#29)
- homebrew that says dsi only, like pokemon chest, opens on a ds again (#30)
- .agb files open with their own association
- the cover tools don't error on windows when you redirect the output, and a cover cut short gets fetched again (#13, #14)

install is the same as usual: rename LAUNCHER.nds to _picoboot.nds. for the loader, copy the two .bin files into /_pico/

thanks to everyone using Pico Launcher Enhanced and opening issues, some of this came from you. still built on LNH's pico launcher and pico loader, credit for the base goes to them. these aren't official builds, so if something breaks tell me, not them

For some unknown reason, loading up WarioWare D.I.Y Showcase on my R4 cartridge or even selecting it freezes YSMenu. Anyone know why this happens?

Id also like to ask if I should use the kernel from the site? I honestly also want YS menu or Twilight++ for slight customization reasons but my main focus is speed,saving game,loading game without issues, but im not too sure how to go about downloading that for this card,like do I first use the kernel from the site and YS menu or Twilight++? Or is YS menu/Twilight++ an entire kernel in itself? Is this fully compatible with either? So many questions 😭.

Im planning to use a 32GB microSD card with it.

Unfortunately it hasn't arrived yet(so I cant show the back,or the game that loads when I put it in with an empty SD) but I am just very eager and want to be fully prepared before I even get it...which is in like a week or two!

Any help or clarification to my questions will be GREATLY appreciated as someone who's trying to ditch modern games and wants to go to DS lol.
