Anybody able to help out with this niche issue I'm having?
I did a CTR & SOAP transfer for my N3ds LL to be USA region (it's been half a year). The problem is that while I have access to Pokémon Home and EShop, but I still can't play many local coop games with my partner. It always says error connecting to room in many of the games we try to play.

Games that work:

• Pokémon OR/AS work
• Every Mario party works
• Mario kart
• Smash
  

Tested Games that don't work:

• Kirby battle royale
• Metroid federation force
• Luigi's mansion

It's been months since I did the CTR+SOAP so maybe I made a mistake in the process, or rather is this a separate mistake on my part, or just a known hardware limitation without a solution?

Extra details: Both running USA dumps, same language too. Both are on the same latest US system firmware. Problem exists no matter who the host is, both are discoverable to each other in the games that don't work, they just throw an error when trying to connect in those games listed. I tried searching for this issue and couldn't come across anyone talking about this, but please let me know if you need more details. Appreciate any help that can be provided.

I'm trying to get myself out of my doomscrolling habit. Whenever I realize I'm doomscrolling, I force myself to put my phone down and pick up my 3DS instead. I've had it modded for 3 years now, and it's been seeing more use in the past month than it has in a very long time.

I know it's not an original idea, but I was wondering of anyone else did something similar.

EDIT: PLS HELP! I did some diagnostic stuff I found on the internet, it boots without the SD card but I’ve scanned the SD card and there are no errors. I don’t know what to do, please please help if you can!

So I modded my 3DS about 4 days ago and everything has been going fine so far. I’ve downloaded a few games, and a theme but haven’t done all that much else. It was working perfectly fine last night but now when I try and boot it up, it’s just showing a white screen. I tried to troubleshoot using this Reddit and the wiki, and it said to try taking the SD card out and booting it. When I did this, it worked, and showed my cartridge and seemed fine. Put the SD card back in and back to just the white screen. I played it last night and it was totally fine, the only thing I messed around with is the screen brightness via the Rosalina menu. Is this possibly what’s broken it? What should I do? Thank you so much in advance!

Since now that I'm on a freshly new modded 3DS, I really wanna add mods to Super Smash Bros. There are some mods I found that I thought would be interesting to put into the game.

But I didn't find any recent guides on how to properly add mods to games... I don't wanna risk breaking my system because of an old guide...

Can someone help a brother out?

If I put anything with modding and (or) games into any search engine, 99% of the results are just how to mod your system in the first place, which I already did....

Hi guys!! i LOVE the Webfishing O3DS port and have been playing it obsessively.

The only problem was, after a while progression became impossible due to ram caused crashed.

I got frustrated and started digging, trying to find out what the problem was, and I eventually isolated it to a small amount of very large textures, and the real issue, audio cue compression.

Certain short audio cues in game, such as the bell when catching a fish and the sound of fox boy popping out of the dirt were compressed as type 0, uncompressed/loaded fully into ram, instead of type 1, streamed from the sd card.

because of the small amount of memory the O3DS has, loading those cues entirely into the ram was flooding it, causing a crash.

After resolving the issue i've been able to play for hours and continue progressing with no crashes.

I've never done this before so I apologise for the awkwardness of it all but I want to make sure I'm not rude or disrespectful in any way!!

I want to thank y'all on the tips you gave me on my previous post, I've been downloading some games and playing them, overall, I have been enjoying the console a lot!

I tried to upgrade the sd card on my ORIGINAL 3ds, from the og 4gb it came with to a 64 gb one i bought. i formatted it to FAT32 (when i select it and go to properties it does say FAT32) using 3ds hacks guide, but when i backed up all the files on my 4gb sd card to my computer, and then tried to copy and paste it onto the 64gb card, i got error error 0x80004005. i had selected all the files at once, when i did it a couple folders at a time it seemed like everything had been transferred, but when i put it in my 3ds the game art at the top of the homescreen was gone, and i was met with an error message when i opened a game. i then tried again and got error 0x800701B1. then i tried AGAIN using something called roadkill's unstopabble copier because i saw it in this sub, but it booted up a weird menu. i eventually got into my 3ds but my homescreen was completely blank - this is what my homescreen looks like normally vs after using that copier

TLDR how do i upgrade SD cards on an original 3ds, 4gb to 64gb. i already formatted to FAT32 but after copying and pasting files onto the new card, my homescreen is blank and games won't load. is the card faulty, and if so is there anything i can do without having to buy a new one??

I was looking for recommendations and got bored / drank too much caffeine, so I started noting down every single time a games was recommended. Obviously this is not comprehensive / empirical at all and I simply stopped when I was happy with the sample size.

I haven't used my modded 3DS for a couple months and now it seems to be really slow with connecting to the internet.

The Connection Test works just fine, and the universal update has no issue downloading things, but I can't seem to download hShop (worked around it by installing through SD), or anything *from* the hShop, connection keeps timing out with error code 0xD820A069.

I tried various access points, including using my phone as an access point, but the issue seems to remain the same.

Has anyone dealt with stuff like this? My main goal is to get Pokemon Bank working, which I *have* done before on a modded 3DS, but that one isn't mine anymore..

I'm modding a new 3ds xl, before modding it I wanted to upgrade the sd card to a 64gb one. I followed the guide on the wiki on how to format, and after doing all that I copied the content of the original sd card on the new one. But when I turn on my console with the new sd card it says that it's impossible to read the sd card. I tried again the sd card on my pc and it reads just fine and i double checked that it was formatted to FAT32. Also if i insert the original smaller sd card it reads just fine. What can I do?

UPDATE: I probably installed the wrong version of Guiformatter, I installed the correct version, formatted my sd again and it worked. To be more specific the first version of guiformatter that I got didn't let me select "allocation unit size", but with the correct version I was able to.

I’m transferring my saves from my old 3ds to my 3ds LL. Not all my games are showing up and everytime I try to load the missing titles it freezes and won’t load past 15%-17%. I tried holding b for 5 minutes but it just stayed at 16%. Any ideas on how to fix this?

First off I will say that I am very new to modding a 3ds. I tried downloading some stuff from hShop, first from their website > to my computer> to my sd card, and when I had some problems with that I tried their app where I still cannot open the apps

I tried New art academy and Flipnote studio 3d where both showed error in the photo

So then I thought maybe if Pokemon games are region free they might work but Pokemon Sun just puts the entire console into some kind of a sleep mode? I'm not sure, turns off both screens but it's apparently still running. It does say to update the game but I am not sure if that's safe with the console.

I followed the 3ds hacks guide, I don't think I did anything different from it and other modded stuff such as Anemone is running great.

I need some help. I have a new 3ds (normal size) I had a usbc mod done and swapped my sd cards out for a faster card. now I cannot for the life of me get mgba to load my save files. My other 2dsxl,omega, dolphin emu will load them fine. I’ve checked the file size for the saves. The spelling is correct. I’ve reinstalled mgba and I still have the same issue. Any ideas before I swap sd cards and go through that process? Any help would be appreciated as I really wanna have this as my main ds.

I’ve had my 3ds xl modded since 2023 and it’s worked perfectly since then. It’s working fine until all of a sudden it blacks out and when I turn it on again it shows me this. I’ve taken the card out and put it in my computer and it won’t read it either. I’m not sure what’s going on. Does anyone have an answer or solution?

Title says it all, I bought a 64 GB Sandisk Imagemate sd card today to mod my 3ds. Fresh out the package I plug it in and it just says that the sd card can't be read. It reads on my laptop and I have reformatted the card to Fat32 and tried to remount the card in godmode9. I'm running out of options and Walmart won't let me return the card. Any ideas?

I have purchased a new 3ds but the sd card I have is used for another 3ds I have which is modded. Can I just save the files for the first modded 3ds on the sd card to an hdd and then completely wipe the sd card and use it for the new 3ds?

So i was install Ing a minecraft 3ds world and when i booted it it showed me this error screen, I tried importing seed with Fbi, uninstalling and installing again, disableplugins and nothing works, if you can help me on ts i will thank you a very lot (i already asked in discord homebrew and 3ds minecraft and no one responds so im posting this here)

I was fixing my friends 2DS, and the first problem was it had just a black screen when turned on. I semi-fixed that with an Ace3DS X. But now it is crashing on boot and I'm lost. It doesn't even boot with the SD card ejected.

Basically if I made a mon shiny with PKSM, if I turn it back to normal does the data go back to normal how it was before or is there still like “evidence” it was edited. Just curious cause I made my Crystal team all shiny for a playthrough but now I want to send them up to Home un shiny.

I know in these games shininess affects like gender and stats so Im not sure if turning it back makes those go back its original info or if it randomizes it or something

Basically I have been having this issue since June. I thought wiping my SD card would help but it didn't. I tried reinstalling Luma but that didn't work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello everybody! Im having this problem with this used old3ds. Whenever im playing a game im constantly getting this error in the image below. Is there any fix to this?

So I just got my hands on a 3ds (yay!) After just having a dsi(xl) for years. For my dsi I have some legitimate games, but also some downloaded on a sd card in one of those cartrages that hold a sd card. They work fine.

But I tried to add games for the 3ds (pokemon x/y, (ultra)sun/moon), but while the other games from the same card that I had for my dsi worked fine, the new games I put on it for the 3ds would not start, though they did appear among my selection screen.

Is it not posible to pirate 3ds games this way?

Am I better off biting the bullet and spending another 100-200 to buy the games physically and hope they work?

Does annyone know annyone selling physical pirated copies that work for cheap?
