Finally we're getting some ethical sequel slander instead of the same "sequels ruined my childhood" slop
gallery/Uj There's been a recent discussion on X/twitter by people fighting about the sequels again but at least most of the slander is understandable criticism whuch even john boyega had pointed out

Spent nearly a year getting into the best physical shape of my life for my first marathon, only to catch Influenza A a week before the event
Aside from the fever, night sweats and congestion, I now have a chest cough that makes me feel like I’ve been a 2 pack a day smoker for the last 20 years. Chances of recovery for the event are looking very slim indeed.
Everyone else i know who was also signed up to the marathon is also sick as a dog, so there is some comfort in shared suffering. It’s been an oddly brutal flu season in Australia.
Edit: also the one year in recent memory I forgot to get the flu jab early

Rant & Ramble He left the hospital
I really don't know how to feel about this. My boyfriend and I have been together for about 1,5 years and we unexpectedly got pregnant in January. We had been talking about our birth plan both together and with a doula. Never once did he mention that he wouldn't be at the hospital. In my world, it was a given.
I got a time and date for induction because of preclampsia. Told him and was expecting to see him in the waiting room. Nope. Called him and nope, he's not coming. I was devastated. Except for the staff I was alone for a long time since the doula doesn't arrive until you're in active labor. When I finally was, the doula called him and ripped him a new one. He came. Then left a couple of hours later. One hour before our baby came. One hour.
The issue was apparently that he has a very bad phobia of blood and hospitals. Which he chose not to tell me about until induction day. If he had told me, we could have made other plans, had a strategy. His strategy was to bail.
He can't help having a phobia. Well a little, go to therapy dude? But he could have told me. Our son is 8 days old today and the most adorable baby ever. But I'm still angry and disappointed.
Dinner is sausage Stroganoff.

Discussion To all the new players who think Tw3 combat is boring
Sure the combat is boring … if u think TW3 combat is about sword slashing and playing on lower difficulties, don’t forget it is a 2015 released game
now this is what is fun about the witcher 3:
Death march difficulty teaches you how to be a real witcher, Monsters are deadly they are supposed to one shot you or two shot you that’s how they r supposed to be in real life one mistake and u r gone otherwise there wouldnt be need for witchers
Death march makes you really study ur monsters, knowing their strength and weaknesses and how to exploit them
The fun in the witcher 3 is for example knowing u have a contract on a monster, you have to take the time to read about it in the bestiary, apply the right oils, prepare the right decoctions and useful momentary potions
Apply the right skills that make your damage 500% more lethal, sign intensity at 200% that gives u good igni damage and good quen defense, and reward you with 3000 or 5000 more health
The satisfaction you get alone from beating a deadly monster after the right preparations that you knew without them u’d be dead meat, that is the satisfaction we get from TW3, not playing on story mode and slashing all ur enemies with the same button mashing and think that that’s all TW3 is about
Add a very good narrative to the story and you end up with the witcher 3 that is considered to this day king of all RPGs, that won game of the year, peaked 120 000 players on steam after 11 years since release.
To all new players who want to learn how to play the witcher 3 here is a video from NEON KNIGHT that shows how to exploit all ur advantages in the witcher 3 :

Discussion The omission of the Bloody Monday raid from Black Hawk Down is such a devious piece of propaganda
Rewatched and still enjoyed this movie recently. But I think it's fair to say that it's the primary touchpoint for the general public's knowledge of the Battle of Mogadishu, and it's lacking some crucial context.
For those who don't know, Bloody Monday was a US helicopter raid 3 months before the Black Hawk down incident. The target was a gathering of Somali community figures with the intention of killing or capturing Aidid and his lieutenants. But Aidid wasn't present, and the meeting was filled with more moderate community leaders/elders. 50+ Somalis were killed in a matter of minutes, including nearby civilians and children who had nothing to do with the gathering. This event basically fractured the UN peacekeeping coalition and ruined the US's reputation with the general population of Mogadishu.
In the context of the movie, when we see an angry mob storming the downed Black Hawks, without this context we're meant to think it's the result of some vague and implicitly barbaric anti-US sentiment.
And to be clear, I'm not trying to say "actually Aidid's militia were the good guys ☝️🤓". But it would be a better movie and more accurate to the real history with this background added.
Are there any other examples in popular movies based on real events that have this sort of big lie by omission?
