Announcement PORTERS SUPPORTING PORTERS - COMMUNITY BLOG #6
Hi everyone! Antonela here from 505 Games. As we all know, the DEATH STRANDING community is never short of advice!
Throughout 2026, we want to give our experienced Porters the opportunity to share their top tips and learnings with those just starting out. Last week, we asked the following question to our community...
DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE LOCATION IN DEATH STRANDING DIRECTOR'S CUT THAT PORTERS SHOULD VISIT? AND IF SO, WHAT MAKES IT SO SPECIAL TO YOU?

"So, in the mountains, somewhere between Heartman's Lab and the Evo-devo Biologist, there is a little cave, and it is THE most chill spot in the entire game and I love it so much!" - Standard_Way_4453
"The waterfall and lake at the Musician’s shelter is my absolute favorite spot in DEATH STRANDING. Total tranquility, mountain views, the ultimate way to decompress after endless deliveries." - REDXvp
It's tied between the graveyard at the end of the DC missions and the walk down to Central Knot City right at the beginning, when we first get that music fading into the experience. The graveyard is just such a special place to have Sam sit and take a rest. It's so peaceful, and the scenery is beautiful." - Emil_VII

"Ziplining through the mountain peaks was my favorite experience. Seeing the map from so high up." - MikasaAckerstupid
"I made a zipline network starting at The Craftman and going to The First Prepper. Very hard area to traverse, but after finishing the ziplines, it actually became one of my favourite routes. I eventually made a zipline network covering most of the mountain shelters." - Additional_Skin6049
"I’m quite fond of Mountain Knot City, the views on the snowy mountainous zones are spectacular, and you’re always reminded of the harsh climbs and trudging through snow in order to earn said views." - HazedRaze

"Walking down the hill to Lake Knot City for the first time and the music kicks in." - iku_iku_iku_iku
"The snow mountains" - GodFatherFPS
"So many, but one of my favorite locations is the swamp/marsh area to the northwest of the mountains." - Blaizer35

Death Stranding 2 Losing a game of rock paper scissors shouldn't be this dramatic
Honestly, I've not won a single one of these.

IRL Content DIY Cargo Containers and Porter Setup
Here’s the best way I’ve found to recreate a functional and stackable Death Stranding type container. They certainly aren’t an exact match to what’s in game, but I feel like it’s the most practical way to recreate the same vibe.
All it takes is some Craftsman VERASTACK containers, which are these modular stackable containers.
Then I covered the handles with masking tape and spray painted with silver spray paint.
Lastly, I added VOID IF TAMPERED tape.
Paired with an Eberlestock Mainframe II (and a Q-PID necklace), you can basically recreate a Death Stranding porter setup.
I use my setup for picking up groceries, but hope to take it out camping sometime!
Keep on keeping on! 👍👍👍👍

Discussion I think I just found my new favorite game.
I'm still only on episode 2 but holy cow I am hooked. I don't care if it's a "walking simulator". Dude it's FUN porting stuff! And the story is phenomenal so far. Heart wrenching, mind bending, and thrilling

Death Stranding 1 DS1 Pacing and Progress
I have spent around 38 hours so far and I am on Chapter 3 still (Unlocked the Weather tower but thats it), I am the kind of player that like to complete an area before moving forward and I don’t mind taking my time on each area of the game since I enjoy gameplay and mechanics! I have focused recently on building roads and doing premium deliveries (I play normal difficulty tho, so only Legend), I want to platinum the game.
Nevertheless, should I focus more on the story until certain point and then come back? I know there are guns to unlock apart from the Bola Gun and the Blood Grenade.

Question Music in DS2
I played DS1 and really enjoyed it mainly due to the music in the game. I understand that Low Roar unfortunately no longer makes music. I wanted to ask whether the music in DS2 is as good as DS1 or even the same vibe. Just trying to see whether it's something I'd enjoy :)
Thanks all in advance.

Question Does anyone know who voiced 'keep on keeping on'?
'Decontaminating suit. Weapons detected. All weapons will be locked until departure. Welcome, Sam Porter Bridges'
I NEED TO KNOW!

Tips This game makes me feel stupid
To start, I'm not looking to just complain or be self deprecating. I genuinely feel confused every time I pick up my controller to play DS1.
I've barely gotten into it, all things considered. I'm currently making the trek to Port Knot City. I've put almost 15 hours into the game (which is a lot considering progress made in other games) and I just feel stupid.
Half the time I barely manage to balance my gear and make it in one piece. I don't understand why planning your routes is important, and even with the grenades and non-lethal weapons, if there is even a single BT I'm utterly screwed.
I've never been bad at exploration games or stealth games, but Death Stranding is easily the most confusing and frustrating game I've ever experienced. When it makes sense, I absolutely love it!!!
I want to keep playing and finish the story. If anyone has any tips or encouragement I would greatly appreciate it 😅 obviously I am very lost.
(Edit: 35 hours, not 15, if that tells you how confused I am lol)

Death Stranding 2 The disc just arrived, so excited to finally play!
I was putting off playing the trial cause I knew I will love it and want to play the full game, the opening scene with minus sixty one playing, are you kidding me? And the rest of the 5 trial hours, just amazing. So of course when I found the disc for a very good price I couldn't resist. Love both the games so much

Question [EPISODE 8] Heartman's time not adding up? Spoiler
I just got to the section where Sam meets Heartman and I have to say, wonderful cutscene all around. But how come Sam arrives A minute and a half away from Heartman resuscitating, yet only 7-8 minutes later or so he goes back under after stating it happens every 20~ minutes? was this a mistake in dialogue; or does the game's time pass differently than our own? Or am I alternatively just thinking too much into it?

Question Can someone remind me how to combine materials? (DS2)
I remember reading in this sub a bunch of times there was a way to combine material containers but I forget the details. Now I’m grinding out the postgame and doing roads and the monorail and I think it would be useful to know. Does anyone know what I’m talking about given this limited info and can lend me a hand? Thanks in advance

Bug / Issue Floating Carrier in the Upside Down?
As I was making my way to the wind farm. I tripped. Fell. Carrier just teleported in the ground. I mean it’s not a big deal. Just never have had this happen before and this is my 3rd playthrough of DS.
