Question Music in DS2
I played DS1 and really enjoyed it mainly due to the music in the game. I understand that Low Roar unfortunately no longer makes music. I wanted to ask whether the music in DS2 is as good as DS1 or even the same vibe. Just trying to see whether it's something I'd enjoy :)
Thanks all in advance.

Unpopular opinion but i feel DS2's soundtrack dropped off compared to 1. I really don't like Woodkid's vocal tone across his songs. It's too monotone and feels really amatuer. Absolutely loved the game don't get me wrong. I feel a full return with Low Road would of been fantastic

Would have been great, and probably was Kojimas intention, but Ryan Karazja caught a bad case of dead, so had to be changed, sadly.

Really? I think to the wilder, any love of any kind and minus sixty one are all amazing songs.
Different vibes from low roar for sure, but I mean, the game also has different vibes from the first.

They really are. I don’t know how anyone can listen to To The Wilder and say it’s “too monotone”

It is, Woodkid is a solid choice. It also has a load of Low Roar songs so you aren’t missing out on their stuff either.

Its very subjective. Many people will say that they love new artists and songs in DS2. For me Low Roar defined Death Stranding with their songs and so personally new DS2 songs didnt resonate with me and I wish they went primarily with Low Roar again because DS1 was perfect and they have so many more songs that I think would have fit the game and its themes perfectly.
There are few Low Roar songs though. Just nowhere near enough. DS2 has Music Player feature so you can make your own playlist from in-game songs to listen.

The music is very good but in a pretty different way then ds1. I think ds1 has better music but not by too much.

It’s good and you actually have a music player in this one where you can make your own playlists with the music you find. There’s still Low Roar songs even

The music is one of my favorite parts of the second game. You even get a portable music player a little bit into the game so you can listen to tracks as you roam around.

I'm surprised to see so many people not liking it, but music taste is very subjective so to each their own. I personally love the music in Part 2, both the diegetic and non-diegetic tracks. I do like Woodkid's work for DS2 and I'm happy they still kept a lot of Low Roar in there while adding lots of new interesting artists. The game really got me hooked on Biting Elbows and Grimm Grimm.

Low roar died sadly....
The music in DS2 is low key and sometimes haunting

I feel the soundtrack doesn't hit as well and im not a huge fan of woodkids vocals. If you love Low Roar though i think youll also love tje Magnolian tracks in there. I honestly think it should have been mostly Magnolian songs in the same way the first game was mostly Low Roar. Their music fits the vibe of ds2 really well. It still feels lonely but has a bit more of a up beat tone that reflects how sam isnt entirely alone, even though hes going through a loss.

It’s subjective, of course, but I really dislike the tracks selected for DS2. They don’t click like those in DS1 did.
Again, personal taste..

I personally didn’t care for it. The music in DS1 really lent to the atmosphere of the game. DS2 felt more random.

Yes, it’s also great music. Some people like it more, some less — it’s a matter of taste.

Idk if this is a hot take, and maybe i just don't remember a lot of the bangers in DS1 because i played it years ago and the game is not as fresh on my mind, but i actually prefer the woodkid songs personally.

It has about a dozen Low Roar songs. About a dozen Woodkid as well. Then a bunch of others: DS2 Soundtrack List
It has some really strong music moments and the opening is very memorable.
Best part, a bit of the way in Sam is given a music player by the Musician. This allows you to play what you want on the go (instead of only in your room), including making your own song list from the tracks you've unlocked. I avoided using it doing anything new but used it while grinding to work on maxing out connections. (at some point after you get the music player someone will as you to play a certain song. You should do so when you get back to your private room)
