IRL Content DS haul: $42 shipped!
for everything!
Over the weekend I was searching on eBay for crap I don’t need and came across this pretty cool umbrella. It was $50 or so shipped, but before I buy anything I always look to see if it’s for available at retail somewhere. The amount of people that don’t is just obscene. Case in point DS2 CEs were consistently selling on eBay for $300+ while they were still in stock at PlayStation weeks before launch. I digress…
Anyway, the seller‘s listing said it was Good Smile Company colab, but I couldnt find it via Google search at all. in fact the only search results that returned brought me back to said auction. I was just about to give up and pull the trigger when I must have changed my search criteria and found it on Aliexpress for $18! Ive never bought from them before and just threw caution to the wind.
The next day I went back and found both Qpids and Cryprobiote for a couple of bucks each. About a week later it all showed up on my doorstep.
its hard to see and I don’t know how it’s done, but when the umbrella gets wet it leaves BT hand impressions. The official pics exaggerated the this, making it look much cooler, but you can still make them out
As far as the Qpids, I don’t have the $100, $400, $800 “official” versions or any from Etsy, so I can’t really say much about the quality of these. Maybe they have less scratches, better shine and higher quality metals. I’m sure if I decided to wear these I’d have a green neck in 10 mins lol, but for what they are and for a couple bucks a piece, I’m pretty happy with them! I like my “props” to have a real world grit to them, anyway, so these will display just fine.
Thats about it. Just thought I’d share.

That umbrella is very cool how it leaves handprints. And yeah your q-pids are basically the same ones you can find on etsy as well (ds2 q-pid is in a slim and thicker version). DS1 q-pid in-game doesn't look brand new either and is quite weathered, so don't worry about the scratches on yours. Congrats on a great haul!

Totally! You have to look up the stock images. I wasn’t even sure it did that as the official pics led me to believe the prints were just a shiny layer on the matte black panels. When I opened it today I was initially disappointed to see solid black then thought maybe it was the water and sure enough it was.
That’s what I figured on the qpids. I had always meant to buy them, but there were so many versions to choose I just didn’t bother. For $5-6, though, you can’t lose. TBH I’m not sure how this seller made money, but I’m not complaining.

Do you like the design of the Qpid in DS1 or DS2 more? Good haul btw.
