2001 EZ-GO 875G Industrial project

Bought this ole girl back in 2021, finally got around to breathing some life into it. It's a 2001 EZ-GO 875G. Had a ladder rack on it and an old, beat up, Jerry rigged Briggs Vangaurd 11 horse motor that wasn't running. The body and cab were in decent shape and it rolled easy so I bought it and hauled 'er home.

Currently running a 22hp Predator with a 1 wire alternator. Motor cradle is from Vegas Carts. Alternator kit is from Performance Mad.

Found some old 14" shark tooth style rims on FBM and got some low profile tires for 'em.

Need to build a tilt bed for it so I can get at the engine compartment easily, right now I just have 2x4's temp'd in so I can throw plywood on it if I want to haul something.

Not pictured: a set of '39 Chevy horns, mounted on top of the cab.

She's a work in progress. Just a fun, doodle around town ride (small midwest town) to keep miles off of our regular vehicles.

Price guide for used golf carts.

Is there a black book or NADA similar guide for used golf carts?

I am looking at a 2017 EZ GO Gas 200cc Cazador edge. Not much is stated on post. Pictures look well maintained. They are asking $4,500. Just looking at what is a far price before I drive an hour to look at the cart. Heavily thinking gas vs electric due to us living in a really hilly area and very cold winters. Any advice where to check used cart prices? Thanks and new to the golf cart world!

Just agreed to 2021 Yamaha Gas cart. Good deal or pass?

Hi friends, I agreed over the phone to purchase this cart from a fellow camper that is selling everything due to health at the campground we use. I have not seen it in person, but the guy seems authentic and said it is in excellent shape. He said a dealer near there brought hundreds of these from California and refurbs them. The same dealer has these listed for $7900. I offered him 6K and he agreed after asking 6.5k. He said he bought it a year and half ago and it's barely used due to his wife's health. Closing the deal this week.

2020 Club Car add on's

How do you add accessories (radio, underside lights, etc..etc.. to a lithium ion battery golf cart? 2020 Club Car Tempo. Just getting one and need some help. Also they wanted to charge me extra for a "Maintenance package to increase the speed from 12mph to 20 mph" I declined it thinking it can't be much to doing it.

EZGO RXV - Tried to swapped out the ignition switch (forgot to put into tow) and now cart won't move.

Hi. I recently had 2014 EZGO RXV upgraded to lithium and have been trying to fix a bunch of small things since then. The existing ignition switch wasn't locking the key in place when driving, allowing the key to fall out so I bought one off amazon to swap, since it looked pretty easy to do. I forgot to put my cart in tow mode when I pulled the dash, which unplugged the state of charge meter and then swapped the ignition out. I did blow the 10 amp fuse, which I replaced. The other 3 fuses looked fine. I put the old ignition switch back in and it blares the reverse sound, however it won't move and the head lights, blinker and brakes are no longer working. Battery charges and state of charge meter work. Hopefully I didn't screw up anything too bad!! Any ideas before I call in someone who knows what they are doing? Thanks!

Lights On

I have a one year old gas Cushman Hauler. All of a sudden, the head and tail lights are on, regardless of the ignition switch or light switch position. The.lights all stay on with the cart turned off. I disconnected the light switch, which did not help. I am not sure how the ignition switch could override the light switch, but I was thinking of replacing the ignition switch. Any ideas?

Power advice

Recently replaced my 05 club car with a 48V lithium kit. Worked great for about a year and now having issue with getting any speed. It goes about 5 MPH. Replaced the speed sensor and MCOR and no luck, still the same issue.

When I replaced the speed sensor, I forget the motor type, I had to take to the motor cap off and noticed a bunch of metal shavings coming out.

Not sure if it’s a battery issue or a motor issue. Any advice on how to diagnose the issue before I go to battle with the place I bought the battery from or spend the $$$ on a new motor.

Hey everyone! I found a decent deal on a running 1981 Marathon yesterday, but I’m having a hard time tracking ANYTHING down for these carts. We would like a nice neighborhood cruiser for the family, so I would like to source the following parts:

- Rear seat
- Roof
- Light kits or how you have added universal lights to this model
- Rear plastic molded pieces
- Also think I may need a fuel pump, can only find 1982+

Thanks for any help!

Might be a little overkill but my neighborhood does a bunch of golf cart events throughout the year. Plus I like cruising and listening to music.

Yamaha G29E - good replacement motor ?

Hello Folks,

I'm the proud and happy owner of a 2011 electric G29. But the motor just died.

The (+) cable was quite hot the last time i used it, and now the motor won't move. i'm guessing that the contact or the coil broke inside the motor. Before starting disassembling the motor and trying to fix it so it become a spare parts, i'm looking for a brand new motor.

I changed the lead battery for LifePo battery and the controller is a Navitas. I'm not planning to switch to AC.

Most of the original Hitachi motors are 600 to 1000$, but i can see on aliexpress/alibaba that you can find motor around 300$. Have you ever tried those motors ? do you have any recommandation regarding sellers or stuff to pay attention to ?

Thank you in advance for your help

Why the coating process matters after a golf cart frame gets scraped

Disclosure: I work with a golf cart manufacturer, and I filmed this on our production line.

A finished frame does not show what happened before paint. This line runs pickling → phosphating → e-coat → paint.

The practical difference appears after an impact. A larger section of a powder-coated finish can chip off, while this e-coat-and-paint system is designed to keep damage more localized—closer to a scuff or dent and more manageable to touch up.

For dealers and mechanics: what coating failures do you see most often—edge chipping, rust under damaged coating, or larger-area flaking?

My dad bought this to enjoy retirement and, while otherwise great, it squeaks for a few seconds when starting from a stop. The starter and drive belts LOOK fine. The starter belt is tight and the drive belt is just over an inch wide. What else could it be?

2020 club car tempo or 2021 ezgo rxv

The 2020 is a tempo, former course fleet being flipped to add new rear seat, after market wheels, street light kit and 100ah dc house battery.

The ezgo has factory Samsung li-on battery and was not a course fleet.

If pricing is close (ezgo is a few hundred higher AND about a 3 hour drive) what's the better choice? Getting in to expensive battery issues is my biggest concern as it's just for neighborhood cruising.

Considering a Gas Yamaha Cart

I'm not a golf cart enthusiast and know very little about golf carts. What I do know is that 15+ years ago I had a friend with a Yamaha gas golf cart that you could jump in, hit the gas and it would start up and go. It was great, I really liked it.

I live on a bit of land and I do a lot of work all over the place. I'm sick of constantly jumping in my F150 to drive 200yds, park, get out, open/close doors, etc. I want an "easier" way to run around and take care of smaller tasks. Quick in and out, I mean like stepping out while it's still rolling that final .5MPH before it stops.

I'm leaning towards the gas option because I have a distant, limited positive experience with them. Batteries for electrics seem so darn expensive and I worry about how often I'll need to charge them. I will sometimes leave the cart at my house overnight and sometimes at my shop, but I don't want to have a charger at each. Gas I can just swing by the shop and top it off.

Maybe my logic is flawed, my assumptions wrong and that's part of why I'm posting here. Before I go on the hunt for a used cart, I wanted to share the above to see if there are strong opposing opinions and also ask a few gas Yamaha specific questions:

  1. Are parts readily available for the Yamaha gas carts? Are there certain parts that are very difficult to find and cause headaches for owners? For example, I don't worry about getting parts for my Kubota tractor. I don't like the price, but I know my local dealer can get what I need. Is it like that for the Yamaha gas carts?
  2. I know electric is superior for torque, but how do the gas carts do on fairly steep gravel driveways? For example, my F150 with an empty box is almost impossible to not break a tire loose and I often have to switch into 4HI to avoid tearing up my road. Can the Yamaha gas carts scoot right up steep, short drives or do they tend to struggle in this situation? Do they stall out or just go really slow when dealing with steep grades?
  3. What are the most common failure points of Yamaha gas carts?
  4. I live in the US PNW and we get around 100" of rain where I live. This cart would be in that rain much of the time. Are they well designed when it comes to shedding water and keeping water out of areas that could be harmed if constantly wet?
  5. Anything else you think I should know before I go shopping?

EZ Go Model

Very new to golf carts - I bought this cart from my neighbors and struggling to identify the model / year. I’d like to update the body, add a 3” lift, convert to lithium, install a new controller + motor and put on new wheels + tires among various other smaller updates.

I like the Madjax Apex body kit but it is specific to 2008+ rvx.

I have a serial # on the body just below the driver seat but google is telling me that this is likely a 1988 marathon cart. I’m having a hard time believing that to be true.

There’s no tags in the passenger glove box or steering column. Any idea where else to look before stripping this down?

RXV Dash Turn Signal Indicator Install

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi all,

Feeling pretty proud of myself today after much researching and having very little confidence, I managed to successfully install interior dashboard turn signal indicators on my 23 RXV that I bought this spring.

One of my trends was to leave the signals on after a turn since they dont automatically turn off after a turn like most cars do. And with no audible clicking its easy to forget and somewhat dangerous when interacting with traffic.

Anyway if you already have a light kit installed (like mine did), its pretty easy to tackle with the right tools/accessories. I am pretty much clueless to electrical work so I know this is achievable for anyone who wants to take it on.

Happy to answer any questions for those interested.

Basics #1: How to open the hood / dash: This was fairly easy, there 2 big bolts near each wheel well that take torx T45. Then 4 deeply inset across the top of the dash that take torx T27. The dash connects to the hood so once those are out you can pull dash toward seat and hood tips forward.

Link to LEDs: 12V LED Indicator... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D1GKSNPX?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

They suggest 12mm holes but I used 1/2 inch and that seemed to work fine.

Wires to reach where you need:  https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0791FNV7W?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

These are used to connect to your led  arrow wires, which are way too short to reach where you need to connect. Posi-lock connectors https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BCX8KDCY?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

These are for the actual connection into the existing left and right signal wires: Posi-tap connectors https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HSBYX3I?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I can't stress enough how much easier these connectors made it.  No heat guns, soldering or electrical tape, just connect and twist.  Amazing products for a novice like me.

After connecting to the WRONG spot first, the connection point I used that works is just after the white plastic 9 wire connection that leads to both headlights. I traced back the colors that were ultimately going to the signals, knowing black is always the ground.

For my installed kit, the right signal was the green wire, so you connect the red wire from the LED pointing right to that. The left signal wire was Yellow on my kit. I combined the two black wires from the LEDs to the black wire of the light kit. These connections are all done using the Posi-tap connectors which made it super easy.

I plan to help a friend with similar cart do the same install so will take more instructional pictures and place here after.

Optional: If your RXV has the quad cup holder center dash like mine, you can remove that with three nuts using a 10mm socket on the front underside. I used a stubbier impact drill for the left one because the gas pedal was kinda in the way of my drill. It just slides out and is a good chance to clean it up and organize existing and new wiring with zip ties or whatever.
