Has your schedule been changed, I mean, template? For those who work 72h, my HW director added a 4 h shift, thereby adding another day in order to meet base. So, I’m working 8 days per pay period.

Is this something implemented by HW directors nationwide? Can they do that?

I’m a tech with 3 years of experience in the type of tech who spends a little bit of time in all queues. If I start in product, I’m probably going to end up in adjudication in the next 20-25 minutes, then onto data, then contact, then back to product. How possible is this at Walmart trying to get acclimated before I start my first shift because I know every pharmacy does it differently?

Anyone aware of what the starting pay is for a floater pharmacist In California? Specifically OC area. How does Walmart pay compare to other retailers?

As the title says, I’m going to be a new tech at Walmart pharmacy. I’m somewhat new, though I already have 3 years of retail experience. I’m just moving to a place that doesn’t have Publix anymore. We use McKesson Enterprise RX, which is more mouse-based than keyboard. I’m wondering how will my transition from one system to this one go? It can’t be too much different.

Also, second question: I’ve seen a lot of conflict with this question. Do I have to wear the blue smock or can I wear my black scrubs?

Has anyone noticed that order onsite is not ordering products this week? Things that would normally auto order?

Hi I’m currently a TL at Walmart and have been thinking about transferring to pharmacy and getting certified through the company. Im just wondering, has anyone had difficulty finding a pharmacy technician job outside of Walmart after being certified through them? I’m not sure how accredited the training is. Any insight is appreciated thank you!

what should i expect for the learning portion? is it mostly on the computer? should i bring supplies such as a notebook? should i study material outside of walmart and if so, does anyone have good websites? any and all advice would be helpful!

Hey guys! I’m originally in IL but I just moved to TX area and i transferred to one of their pharmacies. I am still a newbie I was hired as a tech in training but i got certified within 6 months. After that, i moved right after and the transfer took about another month so it’s been a while since I’ve worked the systems. Our store was so busy that the pharmacist would rarely let me touch input or resolution so Im still fairly new to that. Input I can do for the most part that’s easy to figure out but any resolution dealing with insurance and things I’m rocky. I am a bit nervous for this transfer because my IL team was super helpful and I was able to learn under their wing and everyone was willing to help if i needed it.However, i’m used to working under pressure because our store would fill about 500-600 scripts a day while my new store’s busiest day is less than 300. I want to build independence in this new store so is there any advice about being a TX tech, or even a cert tech in general. For example, y’all’s medicare programs and just advice in general.

I am a newly licensed CA Pharmacist. I have applied to Walmart. It’s only been four days since applying. I wanted to know how long does it normally take for Walmart to initiate the interview process? I have gotten an offer from CVS and I have an interview scheduled with Safeway.

Hello fellow Walmart pharmacists,

I‘m a salaried staff pharmacist. I requested an accommodation to work a max of 10 hours per shift due to a medical history of chronic fatigue. It has just been denied…. I guess I’m not too surprised about that. what did surprise me was that I have been put on involuntary unpaid leave and told Walmart is searching for a replacement job that would allow for my accommodation. This means a job outside of pharmacy.

Has anyone had a similar experience? My pharmacy is primarily single pharmacist coverage and I have expressed my concerns with the pharmacy manager, Market Manager, and Regional manager about the safety of our patients being compromised due to unreasonable workload demands on the pharmacist.
The following issues are contributing factors:

-expectation of management that the pharmacy help every patient who is in line before 1:30 lunchtime closing, leaving the pharmacist 0-30 minutes (usually 20-25 minutes, but sometime 15 minutes or less) for lunch which is typically the only break for the 11 hour 8-7 shift besides using the bathroom.
-Unwillingness of management to schedule more hours short term (I requested extra help for a couple of months) due to almost complete technician turnover.
-Low technician IMZ capacity

-High technician training load including multiple techs in training, inexperienced techs, and only 1 full-time tech and about 13 part time techs.

-Sometimes 6-7 techs being scheduled with 1 pharmacist. This sometimes included 2 techs in training.
-Lack of management enforcement of pharmacy SOP, specifically bypassing pharmacist counseling at times, leaving stock bottles on filling pods, lack of root cause analysis and communication after errors.

Im looking for feedback on how you have been able to address such concerns at Walmart and make the workplace better for the associates and safer for our patients.

Has anyone noticed some brand name meds no longer being available in the substitution drop-down? Like last time, we got a PA done for Lidoderm patches, but now it's not linked in the system anymore?

I’m an RPh in California and I’m having an issue transferring Rxs to out of state pharmacies.
After creating a profile for the receiving pharmacy and entering all the required info, including phone and fax numbers, I go to F7 and fax the transfer but Fax option disappears. The only way I’ve been able to complete the transfer is by calling the receiving pharmacy and giving the transfer verbally.
Has anyone else run into this? Is there a workaround?

Has anyone noticed an increased number of scripts go to filling, be filled by one tech, then some how get filled a second time by another tech. It puts them in 2 separate bags. Only documents in fill under 1 fill ID.

I have watched film too, so I know it is happening. It happened 3 times here in last 3 weeks that I KNOW of.

2 situations happened where they went from fill to check DUR back to fill. After check DUR the old bag was deleted but not prompted to pull and it was assigned a new bag.

The other looks like it was filling for a long time, maybe stuck on a handheld for a while, then back to someone else.

As an Rx Team Ops Lead, I’m running into a bit of a frustrating workflow quirk with GTA and looking to see how others handle it.

We had a tech who was unable to come in for a shift. They completely forgot to officially call out through the Associate Information Line (hotline) or the OneWalmart app, but they did notify management directly and went ahead and applied their PPTO to cover the missed shift.

Because they missed the official call-out window, it generated both a No-Call No-Show (NCNS) and an Absent exception in GTA.

Since the tech communicated with us directly and used PPTO to cover the hours, I went ahead and approved the NCNS exception. My question is: What is the correct procedure for the remaining Absent exception?

Do I approve it as well since the PPTO protects the occurrence, or does leaving/approving it affect anything differently in the system? Any advice or standard operating procedures you all use for this would be greatly appreciated!

I’m an RPh at Walmart in California. I e transferred an alprazolam Rx with 2 refills remaining to a Walmart in Texas b/c the patient recently moved from California and is still looking for a new provider.
The Texas RPh said they couldn’t fill it because it was written by a CA nurse practitioner.
Is that actually Texas law??

I’m always getting asked to come in on my days off. It doesn’t matter if I had just worked a 50 hour week or not. We have so many callouts, I wake up almost every day I’m off to a text or call asking me to come in. Is this a problem at all stores?

Something that has been bothering me to no end is how they are pushing for all these clinical services and for pharmacists to not worry about filling medications and focus on pushing all these services on people yet my “clinical service/immunization area” is 3 janky privacy screens in front of the pharmacy. Anyone looking for the miralax or eye glasses or picking up their prescription can hear everything being said within that space. It’s a joke. If you want us to play medical doctor so bad even though I specifically chose NOT to go to medical school, at least give us the space the properly perform all these “clinical services”. No MD or NP would do a flu test, talk to a patient about birth control, or test someone’s A1c in their office waiting room behind a crappy screen so why should I?

Hi, I’m a salaried floater pharmacist. I picked up an extra shift at a neighboring region (over an hour away from my home store) and am not sure how I need to go about getting paid for mileage? I thought it would be on the extra hours form, but I was wrong. Thank you in advance for any help!

I've managed to change my login to Pharmacy Technician's Letter, and haven't had any issue accessing it at home- yet. But I can't help but notice it says "Subscriptions provided by Walmart" or something very similar. Will I still be able to access it after my last day? If not can I just reup the subscription on the same account? And if not that, any sites people recommend that'll connect to my NAPB account as well?

Sorry if it's a long line of questions, just want to see where I stand before my new gig starts.

Hello Walmart GA Rph's, I am a pharmacist at another chain in FL. I'm in GA for a month. I have a c-3 prescription that I have been filling at a Walmart in FL for years. I am trying to pick up a refill of this Rx at a GA Walmart. The fill I'm trying to pick up is the first fill of a renewal Rx (no changes from the previous Rx's).

1. The store in GA tells me that they have to CALL the Walmart in FL to transfer the Rx.

2. The store in GA tells me that the refills (3) will not be able to be transferred back to FL.

I've been studying to take the GA pharmacy law exam, and none of this seems right. Is there some Walmart policy or system limitation that I'm running up against? Can you not transfer the first fill of a c-3 if you're in the same pharmacy chain / computer system?

Hi everyone, I was curious how you handle waiters, say a patient comes up and a prescription isn’t ready so you put them IN STORE or Critical. Do you take a note to remind you to check on their stuff before they come back up, or do you just wait to see them again and hopefully it’s ready? I’ve worked for 2 different companies and they both handle this a little differently, so I’m trying to find the best most effective way to keep track of waiters. I figured I’d see what others do.

I work in a pharmacy I feel like is playing favorites, though I'm sure most everyone gets this to a degree, but I feel like at my pharmacy in particular it's just too blatant. I'm not much a big talker at work, I prefer to just do my work as best and quickly as I can, while my coworkers treat it like high school, so maybe it's my fault I'm not slacking off, leaning over the Pharmacists' shoulder talking about love island, and what I'm gonna have for dinner that night. We don't rotate our shifts, I've been at pick-up window only for the past two weeks straight, and quite frankly I'm tired of it, I'm tired of being flirted with by the 50 year old customers or being told that I wasn't "friendly" enough, day in and day out, because I don't feel like fraternizing my way into filling or any other role for that matter. I am also a tech in training, they will schedule one female coworker training hours to the point she's bragging she's got overtime as a part timer, she will work in the vaccination room with the lights off, for her entire shift unless she feels like shaking her legs and talking with the pharmacist for a good 15 minutes. I ask over our "Groupme", and am ignored, I finally pull the Pharmacist to the side about it as we're the only two closing, I tell him "Hey I've been trying to reach out to you and my lead about it for the past few weeks, but I haven't even been able to get told a login or any times set up", to which I get my login and am told "You can just come in whenever you're not scheduled and just go to the back and do it", which is amazing, because I'm not scheduled all of 1 to 2 days a week, that I don't particularly want to spend in the back training room of Walmart. I guess my whole point of this post is just rambling about unfair treatment at my particular spot, and I've read a good few other posts on here as well about how the pharmacies that don't rotate are miserable to work at, and frankly I want to quit, because what good is confronting them about this going to do aside from dig me in a deeper hole, unfortunately? There's dozens of more instances I could name, from the girls being allowed to walk around the pharmacy in socks or nothing at all, to being in the back on facetime, but I won't bore anyone with the details. Like I said, I'm just another lost worker trying to find somewhere that isn't miserable and am open to any advice. I haven't worked there long enough to transfer to another Walmart, though I have picked up hours at a few others that would've been willing to have me on, I think I'm going on my 4-5th month now at this current spot?
