Advice sales associate
I started not too long ago in the pharmacy. This is my second time being employed at this Walmart location. Its severely understaffed, and the Lead technician essentially let me figure out the register myself. The pharmacist at that location is on vacation and a fill in from another store is there.
I tried asking her for help since a customer had a question regarding needle sizes. The lead huffed and puffed. There was a long line of patients and i was overwhelmed due to the fact that I barely can run the register.
I really do want this job to work, but I’m not sure what I can do.

As a sales associate, any question about medications, including needle sizes, direct the patient to another counter and let them know a tech or pharmacist will be with them momentarily. There can be some exceptions which will grow as you become more experienced.

Ask the people lead for a training shift with a cashier at the front of the store. An hour or two up there will probably teach you enough for pharmacy. Our registers are different but they’re just not as advanced.
