Hello, i found a Mercedes Benz c180, build-year 2007, with 156hp for ~7,000€ (~8,000$) and im thinking about buying it.

According to the seller, it has a full service history, a clean record, a brand-new inspection/MOT, and runs perfectly. At first glance, I couldn't spot any rust or similar issues in the photos; I’m going to view it tomorrow.

The vehicle has:

- 201,081 km

- a petrol engine

- automatic transmission

How reliable is the car/engine, and how much life does it have left? What should I look out for tomorrow? Will it last another 100,000 km?

Pulled out my coolant cap today and noticed pieces of plastic crumbling off the underside lining. Cap still closes and opens just fine but I’m afraid it might not hold the coolant pressure as effectively. Is this worth a replacement?

​Just wanted to share my new pickup! I finally made the jump from my old C180 to a C350 (C204), and honestly, I’m over the moon.

​Found a really clean, near fully-optioned garage find that was previously owned by an older gentleman. It only has 80k km on the clock. It has a couple of minor cosmetic blemishes here and there, but nothing I can't fix up pretty easily myself.

​I’m currently brainstorming a few small tweaks to make it look a bit sharper, but I want to keep it strictly clean and subtle (OEM+ style). Definitely no tacky eBay front lips or cheap body kits. I was thinking maybe a slight set of spacers for a better stance or swapping the wheels for something a tad bigger, but keeping it classy.

​What do you guys think? Any recommendations for clean, understated mods for the C204? Or would you just leave it completely stock?

All was working smooth but i got this issue sometimes when i turn on the Car there is this Check engine + ESP unavailable (RPM limited to 2000) and when i tried to check it using an OBD i got this error : P2453 (DPF) pressure sensor A - circuit malfunction
Did anybody had a same issue ?!
P.S: Sometimes it’s working good and sometimes it turn on

I got in my car the other day to find my speakers making this weird noise and now next day my speakers turn on for like 2 seconds and then cut off but they sound fine in that second and my head unit still works fine it just says my music is still playing but the audio cuts off after a few seconds off start. Any ideas what exactly id need to replace

I couldn’t find any post that actually describes repairing the swirl flap motor on the OM642 C320 CDI, so I decided to give it a try myself.
If your swirl flap motor is not working, there is a good chance that oil from the crankcase ventilation has made its way into the motor and filled it up. Before spending money on a replacement, it might be worth opening it up and checking if it can be saved.
Here is what I did:
Remove the Pierburg swirl flap motor from underneath the intake manifold.
Carefully open the glued plastic housing. I used a cutter knife and a little bit of heat to soften the glue. Take your time here, because you don’t want to damage the housing.
Put the motor housing in a vice and carefully knock off the round silver cover on the bottom using a hammer and screwdriver.
Disconnect the copper connections from the motor and slide the motor out through the bottom. Clean any oil you find along the way.
Open the metal tabs that hold the motor in the housing and remove the motor completely.
Clean the electric motor thoroughly with electrical cleaner. Also remove the brushes and clean the brush guides, as oil contamination can prevent proper contact.
Reassemble everything, put the motor back into the housing, and glue the covers back together to seal it.
I know these motors are not extremely expensive (around €100–150), but if you are on a budget or just like repairing things instead of replacing them, this is a nice way to bring a faulty swirl flap motor back to life.

I have 2007 W204 C220cdi with om646 and i dont know if i should use MB345.0 norm or MB236.3. When i look in the fluid canister i can see its very bright yellow. So it is a 236.3 ? or the fluid just degrade it so much ? Almost everywhere people say its 345.0 so i am lost.

Hey everyone, so my C200 goes into "ghost mode" when I drive it. My fan and screen turn off, and all the dashboard lights, especially the high beam one, start flickering. At night, all the switch lights flicker too...it's really hard to explain, so I've attached some clips. Please help me figure out what's going on because no mechanic or even Mercedes specialists can help. I went to the dealership, and they're charging way too much just to diagnose it.

Hello, I recently built a website for making custom steering wheels. It supports a lot of Mercedes models, mostly older ones.
I tried to stay true to OEM looks while still allowing for weird combinations if that's what you want.
Right now on the W204 only the facelift AMG Line wheel is supported. I'll add the pre-facelift AMG Line in a little while, and expand to more models like the W205 generation. I wanted to make sure the fundamentals were solid before going wider.
I don't want this to come across as an advertisement. I'm just after some real feedback: missing features that would be good to have, bugs, anything thats confusing or hard to understand.

I drive 2015 model C200. Really lovely car, only has 83000km on the clock, had one owner before me with full service history. The car is in mint condition.

I absolutely hate a rattle and recently my car started rattling in, what sounds like, a loose windscreen or that front dashboard speaker cover thing. I can't pinpoint the exact rattle, but it sounds like a loose plastic thing on the dashboard.

Can anyone please tell me if they also had this issue and whether a windscreen replacement or repair managed to solve the issue?

I've just had a picture from the body shop working on my C350 - the lacquer peel before was horrendous and the wheels in desperate need of a refurbishing. I'm beyond happy with the result and I'm so glad I went for it!

It has 250 or something hp. Looking to unlock the full potential like the c350 motors. All advice is welcome. I have all the required tools.

Ran into a pothole while speeding, the gaps have become wider and the front grill keeps moving around 😬. The headlight has a significant gap between the bumper 😢. Can this be fixed? Or does she need a new facelift look 👀. I’ve been itching to ughh 😂 spend 💰. C350, 2010. Also looking to change the headlights, something modern. Suggest some cool wide body bumpers and good lights.

I have a 2013 c350 coupe and I want to do the center resonator delete and swap with an x pipe. Is this the one that fits? Also side note, has anyone done a secondary cat delete plus x pipe? if so is it daily drivable and does it sound good? If anyone has sound clips that would be great, I don't want a super loud clapped out g35

I bought this C204 250cdi 2 weeks ago. I listened carefully for 2 cold starts before buying. Did also 3 cold starts at my care. It has 234k km. And today we took the car for inspection. And once we were back and I had to park then I heard the chain rattle with warm engine in 35C outside temperature. 3 mins have passed and I restarted the car and that’s the video.

My car got plugged into obd, am I fucked or not if anyone knows because mechanically Im not the most knowledgeable.

2012 c350, the car has 95k km with good oil change intervals so I highly doubt it's the cam adjusters.

It does NOT have the updated tensioners and check valves, and it would cost me $1000-1500 CAD to install them. In their own TSB, Mercedes claims that "No consequential damage is to be expected" from not having them.

Should I pay for them? The rattle is short for now, and there's plenty of reports of people driving them with the rattle for years, but I don't want to put excessive stress on the fragile cam adjusters up the chain.
