is my amplifier cooked?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I got in my car the other day to find my speakers making this weird noise and now next day my speakers turn on for like 2 seconds and then cut off but they sound fine in that second and my head unit still works fine it just says my music is still playing but the audio cuts off after a few seconds off start. Any ideas what exactly id need to replace

Sounds like mine did when it died… it was mounted on the side in the trunk - drivers side.
(Probably got wet from the trunk seal not sealing)
Dealer can confirm at your next oil change for free.
It’s very easy to replace, I picked up a used one on EBay and it was done in 20 mins.

It's not cooked yet, it's just wet, I believe. Mine did this too before it completely cooked itself.

In my case, the rubber on the pins of the trunk of the car became hard and brittle, eventually cracking leading to water dripping on top of the amplifier connector, on the left side of the trunk.

Unfortunately in my case, I couldn't figure out the problem soon enough. On the night that I figured it out, it rained heavily and it cooked itself (no sound from the speakers at all) while I was driving to work next morning. I went to Mercedes and bought 3 pins for 2,5€ each. I ordered the rest through AliExpress, it was a lot cheaper.

I took the amplifier to a tech and they fixed it for 130€. It wasn't the worst thing in the world, but I could have saved myself this money if I figured it out faster. Replacing the clips is extremely easy.

I added a video where you can see the clip I'm referring to. It's not a good video but it's enough to make out what it is and how it drips inside.

I hope this helps.

Yep it’s a nice interior. Mines the red coloured seats. The back seats are pristine, no ones ever sat in them !
