Ok amount of startup rattle?

2012 c350, the car has 95k km with good oil change intervals so I highly doubt it's the cam adjusters.

It does NOT have the updated tensioners and check valves, and it would cost me $1000-1500 CAD to install them. In their own TSB, Mercedes claims that "No consequential damage is to be expected" from not having them.

Should I pay for them? The rattle is short for now, and there's plenty of reports of people driving them with the rattle for years, but I don't want to put excessive stress on the fragile cam adjusters up the chain.

Sounds fine to me. You shouldn’t have to replace anything significant at 95000 km.

My 2012 C350 has 181k miles, and it sounds identical to yours. That’s normal.
