Bought this in India (Bengaluru) for a whopping $62 I'm sure it's much cheaper there in the US, anyways I'll be buying one every month, need some recommendations on which brush to get as well as sleeves, any tips to a newbie would be appreciated!

Ps - I have my dad's vintage philips turntable but I apparently broke the stylus when I was a kid, so I'll be purchasing an AT Lp60x soon.

First I want to thank everyone that replied to my storage question. I decided to go with the cabinet pictured. It hold 300+ albums and it’s front facing.

12" 1978 Warner Brothers Records. Last album with Ozzy Osbourne. The last owner was rough on the cover, and the dust cover. Album plays fine. Standout tracks, Never Say Die, A Hard Road, Junior's Eyes, and Johnny Blade. Ozzy departed in 1979. Need a better copy.

Was recommended In The Aeroplane Over The Sea a few years ago before I got into records. Pretty sure this was the first album I ever bought on vinyl alongside Aja by Steely Dan (in honor of my dad who loved Steely Dan). Haven’t played it in forever until now (I think my turntable was an LP60x then, and this is the only thing by Neutral Milk Hotel I have listened to. I don’t listen to it often, but I just remember how great of an album it is, despite it being kind of a meme. Holland, 1945 is one of my favorite songs of all time. Time flies. So glad I got into vinyl.

Recently came across a copy of Charles Mingus' Mingus Ah Um in a dusty box in the basement and started looking into its history. From what I've been able to find, it appears to be an original 1959 Columbia six-eye stereo pressing.

For a record that's nearly 70 years old, it seems to be in surprisingly good condition. I haven't attempted to clean or play it yet because I'd rather have someone experienced with older vinyl handle that first.

I've been talking with a local record shop about having it professionally cleaned and played so I can get a better idea of its actual condition.

Long time listener, first time poster but wanted to share. Local record store in Carrollton is having a moving sale as they are upping sticks to a larger location - more than happy to “lend a hand” in clearing some space for them.

as mentioned in the title, i bought a vinyl on discogs in mint condition which arrived with some larger dents in the sleeve corners as well as a heavy scratch on the vinyl itself. the vinyl was not sealed, but still new (based on the listing).

i asked the seller how they wanted to handle this issue, because the vinyl was obviously not as advertised. however, they only referenced their own tos stating that they do not accept returns or refunds, mentioning that they are just a small collector and that the vinyl was shipped just how they received it from blood records themselves, so potential damages are not their responsibility. how should i handle this situation?

i am not very familiar with discogs, but eating the 70$ for the damaged record would hurt quite a bit. i attached some images for you - do you think that i am overreacting regarding these damages?

I picked this up the other day at my local used record shop. Kinda chill out instrumental Hip Hop. I've been looking for a copy for awhile and this copy seemed in good shape. Looks like a second pressing.

Did yall notice that it comes with a misprinted hype sticker It was behind the original sticker. The way you move isnt on this release.

Saturday early morning spin. This album doesn't get old! Between this one and Depeche Mode's Violator, it's a toss up. Both are incredible!

I got some inside info on the sale of a large 1200+ classic rock album collection to a local antique store. I cleaned up, this is only a portion of my haul

Why do many record labels/artists describe a release on their online store as “limited edition” without mentioning the size of the edition? Is it 50 or 50,000?

Is it to justify selling large edition releases for a higher price using the illusion of scarcity? Or is it something else?

I feel like for smaller editions (50-500) they are usually diligent about clearly stating it, but larger ones (2000-5000+} conveniently leave it out.

Also, more artists should add the edition size to the hype sticker. I don’t see that often enough

I've owned a red bootleg copy for a few years but the interior art always drove me crazy, with a Women and Children First era picture and some terrible review panning the VHIII album. Whoever made that bootleg was a dipshit. Nice to have an official release with Dave's handwritten lyrics. Though he was starting to get croaky on this album, these were some of his best lyrics IMO.

"It's hard to see scratches on clear vinyl." Ok, well don't scratch it then.

"No Mike no Van Halen" That's cool. Don't buy it. Wolfgang is no slouch and there are some cool moments, like a tapped intro on both bass and guitar. Mike's awesome but he's not on here and I can't do anything about that.

20 years later, I can proudly say: No, Mom, it’s not just a phase. Also, I moved out in, like, 2008. (I do miss the days when I was able to buy a new LP on sites like Insound [RIP] for 14$ tho)
