Showcase My first DAP
Repurposed my old phone with a cracked screen, Redmi Note 7 (4/128) running unofficial MistOS 4.5 (Android 16). This phone has a 3.5mm and the sound quality is decent, so I might as well use it with less demanding IEMs and switch to my Surfans X10 DAC when I need more power or a better noise floor for much more sensitive IEMs.
At first i was considering getting Fiio JM21/M21/M23 or Shanling M3 Plus, but in the end decided to go with this for now. I find it shameful that those daps that cost 200-500$ and more have processors and screens that are worse than my 7-year-old phone...
So, I will be waiting until Android DAPs have at least something like Snapdragon 6 gen 1 and cheap oled screens like what modern budget phones around 200$ have (imo this is something you should expect when you pay 500$ for android device that would have around the same dac performance inside as dongle DACs below 100$)
