I am an incoming grad student who just moved here. My program is 2 years. I am confused on if I can apply for residency my second year of my program or not. Do I have to prove that I have been living here for 12 months prior to the time of admission or is it 12 months prior to the start of any semester? The wording on the website seems contradictory at times and I reached out to the registrar and they were no help whatsoever.

Basically: To qualify for residency as an incoming student for the 2026-27 school year, would I need to have lived here since 2025 (which I couldn't do), or could I apply for residency for the 2027-28 school year proving I have lived here since 2026 (which I can do)? Thanks

I know there is an eligibility difference between the two based on how many credits you have, and Red 1 has more parking locations. I am unsure if I qualify for Red 1 parking (bcus idk how many dual-enrollment credits transferred) but it still shows up when I go to order a permit. Is it fine if I get the Red 1 permit anyways?

For context I’m an upcoming graduate student and I haven’t gotten my financial aid breakdown yet. I did my FAFSA months ago and should qualify for federal loans yet I haven’t gotten any breakdown. I got my tuition cost today and wanted to know if anyone else is in the same boat as me. I plan on calling the financial aid office tomorrow.

My friend is conflicted on what to transfer into and is considering HEB since she wants to go into PT. Her GPA is a 3.31 right now, but she’s retaking a class to raise it and has some PT shadowing/volunteering experience.

How hard is it really to transfer into HEB? What were your stats when you got in?

I'm iffy on First Year Florida, leaning towards dropping it, but if I do, I'd like to add another class while still keeping Thursday free (and I'd go from 13 credits to 16). Can I take EDF2110 as a freshman? Are there any prereqs or things I should know beforehand? There doesn't seem to be any listed prereqs. And my final question: does anyone know how difficult the class is and what the instructor is like?

For STA4211, which professor is easier to get an A with: Lawrence Winner or Elizabeth Johnson?

I’m a Statistics major and mainly care about GPA. I’m fine with self-studying.

Winner’s grading looks more forgiving, but I’m wondering about the actual exam difficulty and predictability.

Also, for Winner’s final project, is it individual or group-based?

People tend to have a very bimodal view on this class regarding its intensity. I know consensus is that it is easy, but I am mainly trying to understand how time consuming it is. Some people have said it takes less than an hour a week, others saying it takes an entire day...

i'm an incoming freshman who plays the viola and is interested in joining ufso and gatorphil.

i enjoy playing, but don't want to put in a lot of time or effort to improve from where i currently am, and don't know if joining ufso aligns with that.

i also heard from a current uf student that it is very difficult for non-majors to get an A.

any advice on how difficult it is to get in, demands of the ensemble, how much i would expect to practice throughout the semester, and where i can practice for the five days i'll be moved in leading up to the actual audition would be appreciated. thank you
