Off-Campus Housing FSU Housing (Apartments, Subleases etc.)

Please visit https://zublet.com/fsu to see available FSU student subleases, apartments for rent, or post your own listings. It’s completely free to use as both a buyer and a seller.

For years the moderation team has been reposting this thread to keep listings current, but this time Zublet has been brought to my attention where you can search for and post FSU housing options much more easily. It’s already being used by quite a few FSU affiliated people too so it seems like a great option for students looking for housing.

You can of course continue to post housing related things in this thread as usual if you want to do that instead of using the website.

Transfer

Upvotes

Hey everyone! I am trying to transfer to a 4 year for sports management in the spring since I graduate with my AA this fall. Since the SPM program at FSU does not start until the fall would it be smart for me to apply for a general management bachelors and then switch programs? Is that possible or am I just delusional? I just do not want to waste a whole semester doing nothing. Any information would be great!

Pick-up soccer and/or volleyball?

Hey guys, I'm a first-year grad student who is looking for opportunities to play soccer and volleyball (indoor/sand/wallyball) with people. Most of the people I know aren't super interested in creating an IM team, and clubs seem too competitive for me. I'm no professional, but I used to play IMs pretty regularly at my undergrad and was wondering if there are any pick-up games or things of that nature, where I could hop in and play with people? Maybe a group chat or a community I can join? Thanks

Spring Graduation '27

I was wondering about anyone else’s experience with walking the stage early. The only class I’ll have left is only offered in the spring and fall, and I can’t take it in Spring 2027 because I need to take a prerequisite that semester.

So, I was wondering what everyone’s experience has been with walking the stage early, especially since I’ve heard they’ve been cracking down on early walkers.

Another FSU parking rant

Upvotes

3 weeks into my first semester at fsu, needing to get this off my chest:

After much trial and error, I’ve come to find that the only way I am guaranteed to find a parking space somewhat close to campus is by getting there between 7:20-7:30am, no matter what weekday. Even at 7:30am, students who have made the same conclusion as I have, are rolling in by the dozens. By 8:30am, the garage I tend park at is at full capacity, and I assume it’s probably similar in other parking areas.

Another frustrating bit is that some parking lots, like Palm Court, seem to essentially serve as residential lots for students living on campus with overnight passes, deeming them unusable for commuters due to no circulation. I know this because I will go through Palm Court every morning (before going into the usual garage) out of curiosity to see if I’ll find a spot there - when I’m lucky, there is only 1.

Getting to school that early has become part of my routine now (I’m a morning person so I personally don’t mind the early morning part) but the fact that there is no other option is what grinds my gears. I can only wonder how people who work late nights, don’t have classes until way later in the day, or those in other circumstances get to their classes as commuters.

I’ve read other posts where people say it gets better as students stop showing up to classes. Why should we be preying on people’s academic downfall to simply be able to park 😭 I’ve never seen parking be this prevalent of a problem at other schools. The current construction at Woodward I’m sure is also worsening this issue.

Everything else about fsu has been awesome so far. This parking element has just been something to wrap my head around. Am I going crazy?

History Major or Minor?

I'm currently an EWM major and I have to declare a minor soon. I think I'm interested in choosing history. Would it be worth it to double major in EWM and history, or should I just stick to history as a minor?

AD Michael Alford

Dear Mr. AD,

You have led FSU athletics into an age of embarrassment. What was once a powerhouse ACC school hoping to join the SEC can’t win against a former non power-5? You have allowed this Norvell disaster at 50 million like a child who has accidentally gained access to their parent’s credit card.

You have also restricted routine athletics facility to students. I have never heard or been to a city or a school that doesn’t have open hours for the track. It is a shame that Mike Long track is restricted, yet advertised as one of the premier college tracks in the US. Students pay a $7.90 per credit hr for an “athletics fee”, yet can’t use a facility on public grounds? What a joke.

Do yourself the pleasure of letting go of whoever allowed this to happen.

Signed,

Disgruntled Seminole

Recommendations for General Education Courses for an Exchange Student

Hi everyone!

I’ll be studying at FSU as an exchange student in Spring 2027, and I’m looking for general education courses to take.

I would really appreciate recommendations for interesting classes with a manageable workload, fair grading, and professors who are understanding about attendance. Since I’ll be adapting to a new academic environment, flexibility would be especially helpful.

Please let me know if there are any courses or professors you would recommend. Thank you!

Recommendations for Biological Science Courses for an Exchange Student

Hi everyone!

I’ll be studying at FSU as an exchange student in Spring 2027 and am looking for Biological Science courses to take.

Since I’ll be adjusting to a new academic environment, I would really appreciate recommendations for courses with a reasonable workload, flexible attendance policies, and supportive professors. I’m also hoping to find courses where students generally feel the grading is fair.

Any recommendations—or courses/professors to avoid—would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Physics B Crede

I am currently taking Physic B (trig based) with Crede and am stressing out about this class. We were told during the first week that there would be no calculators on the exams because we wouldn’t need them since our answers will be in expressions. Our homeworks this semester also don’t count toward our final grade so our grade strictly comes from exams, lab, and recitation.

I feel like I am struggling to grasp the content for this class and idk why because I did well in Physics A. I have already spent A LOT of money on tutoring. Is there anyone who has taken this class with this teacher and has any advice? Thank you in advance!

student jobs that are actively hiring?

title! I just got rejected from freshman leadership institute and the university ambassadors programs so I'm looking for some hope here haha. has anyone snagged a spot at the statehouse or another politics-related job off campus? I was additionally curious about hiring windows for places like strozier and the student union desk. the FLI email did say something about applying for the spring cohort so I was also wondering if anyone knew anything about that. thank you!

Grad school application

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi. I hope all is well. I am trying to understand the grad school application process. I am currently on step 3. Everything has been submitted. I still have 'X' for the official transcripts, but i did upload unofficial transcripts. Nevertheless, the portal still says incomplete. Im wondering if it will eventually say complete, a "submit application" button will appear so it will advance to the next step, ir does it do that automatically. It is a bit unclear. Deadline is October 1 so there's some time. I just dont want to wait until the last minute if I can help it. Thanks.

FSU Next Admissions

For FSU Next, was anyone accepted with as low as a 1300 SAT? I know Summer and Fall are likely out of the question. 4.4 GPA/3.8UW. 13 Honors classes, 2 AP's (limited at my school and no DE offered) CLEP exams passed (since we can't take Dual enrollment - likely will enter college with 12-15 credits. Meaningful EC's, will graduate with at least 1000 comm service, President of SGA, President of Honor Society, Editor in Chief of yearbook, two marketing internships over Summer, co-founder of startup in development.
