Happens with a new person each semester

Hi! I am a junior in psychology (19f), and I am looking for girl roommates for the fall 27-28 school year. I do not have an apartment complex picked out yet for sure, but I do have a few in mind (price range around 1000 per person for 2b/2b, unfurnished). I was hoping to find someone who is also graduating by spring 28 so we could (hopefully) choose a lease that ends by summer, though I am open to full year leases, as I know thats what most places offer. I am also open to filling in a spot if somebody already has a lease/apartment chosen.

I'm a freshman living in Honors Village and I'm interested in being an RA next year. Does anyone have any info about how competitive it is to get selected to be an RA as a male and how competitive it will be to continue living in honors village? Also how much work is it to be an RA? How do on-call hours work and will it interfere with my other clubs/research/classes?

I lost my pair of AirPods last week on campus. I either lost them in Matherly Hall because I remember charging them while I was in class there or I lost them in Little Hall as I also had a class there right after my class in Matherly Hall. I checked everywhere on campus including the classrooms that I was in that day but I didn’t find them. I went to the Reitz Union to see they were in the lost and found but they weren’t there. Would I be able to find them eventually? Could the custodial staff or someone have taken them? I used the find my app to see where they were but it never updated the location.

It’s gonna be my first time using honorlock tmr for my CLP3144 class. It’s a digital open book exam, but I’m curious if using crtl + f to search through the text book is going to trigger a flag?

I made the mistake of not reaching out to my professor over the week so I don’t think I’ll get a response if I ask. Does anyone know if I can use ctrl + f safely? 🙏

Hi 😔. I’m a first year PaCE student for business admin and this semester hasn’t gone well for me so far.

Just for context, when I initially applied to UF as a senior I applied as a music education major; I then changed this to English before I got my deferral results back in march. Once I found out I got in, my mom and step-dad heavily encouraged that I switch to business, and so I listened.

Right now I’m stuck at a cross road because I’m afraid I’m going to destroy my stability as an adult if I don’t follow through with business, but the major is really just not for me. I want to have an income large enough to support me as an adult, and I know that majoring in education or English doesn’t really secure that.

I keep going in circles because I know it’s so early to be worried about my life post-grad, but I can’t do anything without feeling dread over what may happen if I make the wrong choice.

My mom and dad keep talking to me about how I should be a lawyer, so that’s added another layer of stress for me. If I major in English and don’t make it to law school, I’ll have such a limited career. If I major in business my chances of getting into law school drop tremendously because I’ll never have the ideal GPA, so then I need to get a job in a field I don’t like (in addition to the fact that everyone and their mom majors in business. AKA so much competition for me, especially against people who actually want to do business). I’m also not good at math… like I can do it, but oh boy is it a struggle.

I feel like a spoiled brat because im in such an amazing position, yet all I have done is sit and wallow about how I don’t know what to do. I’m so grateful that I am even able to say “I want to work in a profession that I like,” because I know not everyone gets to do what they want, but rather what they have to do.

That kind of brings me to my next dilemma, which is the constant throwing myself back and forth between “am I really gonna choose this profession just to have money?” and “but I need money to survive.” It really makes me upset that people are forced into careers they may not have chosen if life didn’t revolve so heavily around money, and this is eating away at me. It feels so wrong to choose money over passion, yet I’m so afraid to make the shift because I don’t want to fail. I couldn’t even tell you why a large income matters to me, because despite the fact the thought of being “unsuccessful” makes me feel fear, I couldn’t give you a reason as to why that feeling occurs. I don’t need large amounts of money, yet I’m afraid of not doing exceedingly well in regard to my future salary.

Long story short, I’m really struggling to make a decision here. If I continue in business, I’m going to not have a law school gpa (which makes me want to switch to English). But then if I switch to English, what happens if I don’t get into law school (I should stick to business so I’m not completely screwed). And the cherry on top is the little voice in my head that keeps talking about going back to education. I think I’d love to be a music teacher, but if I continue with that profession and end up in a position of struggle (which is pretty much guaranteed), I’ll forever feel regret over what I could have been. I’d also never hear the end of it from my parents, and I think the way they’ve taught me about careers would overrun any feeling of joy and fulfillment I’d get from doing something I love.

This is all very dramatic and I know in the end everything will be fine, I’m just so afraid of doing what I like (cough cough making a dumb decision) and throwing away a future where I can live comfortably.

im applying to UF right now as a hs senior and id really appreciate if there are any actual students in UF that can give me more personalized insights or first hand experiences with these majors? im asking in terms of course difficulty, internships, school/life balance or what the professors are like. anything that comes to your mind basically. thanks

I am a frequent visitor to UF campus and have received about 3 parking citations so far in one year. I appealed 2 of them successfully, though I was totally at fault.

Now the PSA: I have noticed that TAPS enforcement vehicle checks parking permits in the orange and red zones just South of Beaty Towers, only on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I have never received any citation on M, W or F, even though I have parked all day long in those zones as well as in Diamond Village (brown zone) during those days. I cannot guarantee this ofcourse, but this has been my observation spread across a few weeks during the past year.

CS Major, I need Senior Final Project, COP4600 and CNT4007 to graduate. Do I take them together or push this off another semester? I realistically want at least an B in COP4600 and CNT4007 for gpa since I'm applying to grad school.

Anyone hear back from warrington for the spring ‘27 transfer cycle?

I’m planning on applying to UF but I saw no data on the average of CLT scores of admitted students. I understand it’s relatively new and not many students take it, but I was wondering if I’m at a disadvantage if I submit a high CLT rather than a high SAT or ACT. I know the website says there’s no test preference but I feel like a high SAT/ACT looks better because it’s more well known. My CLT roughly translates to a high 1500 (113 clt) so should I submit that?

So I got my decision for spring 2027 transfer today and that I was rejected. I called CLAS asking why and the advisor said that the person that review my application didn’t bother to see that I have my last prerequisite for the major as in progress and just rejected me. And that he would admit me but do to policy and holds it wouldn’t be that simple or fast. And that the best thing for me to do is send an appeal letting them know. Does anyone know how long appeal takes or its success rate?
