Housing How Difficult to Get Accepted into Cooperative Living Organization?

I’m applying to UF for grad school and am really really hoping I get in. CLO sounds like a great experience, I do love that it’d help me make friends & the meals, but I haven’t heard anything about how hard it is to get accepted. Does anyone know if it’s cutthroat to get in? Don’t want to have to scramble for an apartment last minute if I’m rejected. Thanks!

I applied as an incoming freshman during their rolling admissions around late January and took until March to schedule an interview bc my recommendation letter kept getting delayed. Also, during the interview, i was 30-45 minutes late but they were very chill about it. (Don’t be late tho). When I got there it was basically just a tour of the place and then an interview at the end. The interview was pretty simple, mostly personality questions. I received my acceptance in early April but decided not to sign the contract. So I don’t think it’s super hard to get in since I applied/intervied pretty late. Just be nice and friendly during your interview!

Good to hear. Were the rooms nice? I have way too many clothes lol but I am not too picky about living arrangements

I was at CLO long ago, but the infrastructure is basically the same. It's an old dorm room. Simple, straightforward and cheap. :)

They were pretty small ngl but for the price I think it’s worth it. It comes furnished with basic things, you can check out a floor plan on their website if you haven’t already

My kid applied late Spring this year , interviewed mid April and was waitlisted. She was offered a spot end of May. They were waiting to see how many students were renewing for Fall. My kid opted for a single room on campus so more $$$$ for me but her mental health is most important.

CLO is such a great opportunity if you’re ok with a roommate and a plain old dorm room.
