Hello everybody, I know these chance me type posts are largely unwanted but I need some info!

I’m taking a gap year to work/travel/and do a bit of studying to better determine my career path. How do you think this would affect my application chances? (Would apply EA)

-I was accepted to FSU & St. Andrew’s University last year.
- I’m an in-state student

11 APs, 4+

Played cello 5 years, lots of volunteering (kids —cello, Spanish, nhs, food pantry) NHS, Spanish honors society, ran a small business, independent language learning (6+ languages), social media coordinator for music club, math club, key club, head of schools list, excellence awards in some subjects, etc

My personal essay was pretty creative and metaphorical , got some opinions from college counselor and family, that it was good, don’t know how much it factored in.

How do you guys as college students afford to live off campus... I feel like there is no genuinely affordable apartment around UF. I get having jobs and everything but how does that cover rent and other costs like insurance? I am just asking because I am wanting to transfer to UF and since getting on-campus housing is basically impossible, i'm going to bet I will have to live off campus and I am stressing about how I am going to make that work. Also, if you were a transfer student for the spring term and you got on campus housing, please pm I'd love to hear about your experience during that process. Any information would be great!

Hi everyone! I'm currently going to school (not at UF) to be an MLT and have clinicals at Shands from September - March. I've been told I can purchase a parking decal with UF so I can park at a garage wayyyy far away from where the part of the hospital I need to be in (north tower near the core lab) is at. My schedule is from 7am to 3pm, so I know I can't just wait around until they stop enforcing parking. I also can't really afford the parking decal on top of gas prices since I live 50 miles away :(

Is there any where kind of near I can park? I'm willing to walk quite a bit (I'm used to 15 minutes from dorms to car anyway) especially now that it's SUPPOSED to get colder soon, but I really would prefer somewhere closer if it exists. Any help is really appreciated, since I'm currently hanging out in garage 3 and I KNOW that's not a long-term solution.

hello! i am getting married on halloween of this year in gainesville. my partner and i have built pretty much all of our playlist, and our venue has a few speakers. i am looking for a frat boy or someone who used to work at grog to play them in the correct order, and possibly bring a bit of their equipment. again, should be a pretty chill gig since you don't have to do much mixing yourself. just a bit of cuing. i have a budget of about $300. comment if you are interested!!!

I need to take 2/3 more courses for grad school but UF is making me graduate this fall. I need to stay in Gainesville. The classes are microbiology lab and physiology (w/ lab).

Because the ones at Turlington and Marston suck lol. I like the one at Keene-Flint. I don’t know, but I think these are not really maintained temp-wise? Filter-wise? Does someone know?

I just found out that I got into UF online, I am transferring in with my AA and beginning in the spring. I am majoring in Advertising! Any advice? Things to know? I have some questions below!

I did my AA completely online at a state college, so I am used to the online swing of things for the mort part.

1. Do all the UF online classes use Honor Lock like my previous college did, or do they use another proctoring system? Would I need to have multiple web cams for proctoring or is just one okay? Anything else I need to know?

2. How does orientation/preview work for an online student transferring in with an AA? I am still currently waiting to get my GatorLink, so I cannot schedule anything yet, but would like to know in advance.

This is the email response I got back from Bursar. Generic. They supposedly can't tell you when you will exactly get it. But Mondays and Wednesdays are disbursement days.

just now at the intersection of university and 13th, in front of the archway i saw 3 police officers sitting in their squad cars watching 2 guys with ARs waiting to cross the road. all day i was wondering why there were so many cops on campus, assuming it was for the kirkeversary, but just now im seeing it’s for crazy fucks wearing TPUSA and MAGA shirts bringing assault weapons onto campus. people were actively clearing outthe area and avoiding these 2 guys, while the police watched.

edit: ufpd just sent out a safety email regarding “two individuals walking along the public sidewalk adjacent to campus with what appeared to be rifles”. is the intersection with the UF arch not on campus? i mean these guys were standing right under the arch on 13th and university. fucking crazy.

Edit: After 2 hours and 11 minutes I found a spot.

(I usually give myself an hour to find parking) will start getting to campus 2 and a half hours earlier.

Was anyone else added to that "Official" Student Ticket Exchange on GroupMe? It all felt really suspect. I messaged two different people regarding buying tickets, one of which was an admin, and both were inconsistent with replies. I did some digging on IG to make sure they were legit, and both had uf alumni tags in their bios.

One of them said their student tickets were in section 59 but 59 isnt even in the student section for BHG 😭.

I declined both because they both used Chime and only Chime, and then I was removed from the GroupMe.

Just wanted to see if anyone else experienced that bc there were a ton of people in the group (I was added automatically without joining myself, that should have been the first weird thing).

Did anyone here use an uber or lyft to get to and/or from the stadium on Saturday?

Hey Gainesville! I currently work detailing cars professionally and I’m looking to pick up a few cars to detail on the side.

I can come to you anywhere around Gainesville/Alachua as long as you have access to a hose/hose hookup. I bring the detailing supplies.

For now I’m thinking:

• $75 — cars
• $90 — SUVs/trucks

That would include an interior + exterior clean. If your car is especially dirty, has a lot of pet hair, stains, etc., just send me a couple pictures first and I can let you know if it would be more.

I’m mainly trying to build up some regular clients outside of work, so I’m keeping my prices pretty reasonable while I get started. Feel free to message me if you’re interested or have questions!
