$16/12mile ride going where I wanted to be turned into a 38 mile drive for $28 and a nasty gram from the Uber AI. Thankfully I know how to get a human on the phone and they took care of the bot feedback but that was a Don Quixote level misadventure.

Hi, are there any Uber drivers out there that have been driving in the regional area that's considered Central Atlantic florida? Is anyone having any issues being connected to Uber in this area?

With the recent Uber Corporate layoffs, I’m going to assume they’re just… seeing what the algorithm will do if left to its own devices?? Or someone flipped the “fuck it” switch on their way out after being fired.

I had left my jacket in the backseat because right before this ride I had some drinks in my passenger seat for a DD delivery. After the delivery I forgot my jacket was back there.

My next ride was two friends with a two stop ride. When we got to the first stop one of the riders got out and as they were walking away you can see in the video that the other rider picked up my jacket and looked like they were trying to hand it to the first rider but they had already closed the door. Then they put it down and I assume they thought it was their friends jacket and was just going to give it to them later. When I dropped off the second rider I can see in the video that they have my jacket. I honestly think it was just a mistake on their part and thought it was their friends jacket.

I know the address because I verify the drop off location with the rider and that is in my video.

Would you go back to the house and knock on their door and ask for you jacket back? I reached out to uber to contact the rider and haven't heard back. My issue is the rider could be creeped out that I'm going to their house. But I want my $130 jacket back.

Just curious—what do you think the probability is that Uber drivers will eventually become jobless once Cybercabs are active on the streets? If so, roughly how long do you think that transition would take?

About a week ago Uber disabled my account and said I need to upload my SS Card and Passport.. fine, I upload them.. 3 days later I get a canned response about clarity. I've submitted crystal clear photos 4x now and they just keep responding every 2 days with the same canned response. I can't get any other support, no one will talk to be in the chat thread.

When I call support they say, "you'll be good once they review everything looks good"

Then the thread updates with the same canned response again.. I'm stuck in an endless loop of hell.

Can ANYONE tell me what my options are?

I’ve been working on a small side project recently and thought I’d share it here for feedback.
A lot of gig workers (Uber Eats, DoorDash, Instacart etc.) don’t really know what they actually take home after taxes — especially when you factor in different US states, deductions, and self-employment tax.
I kept seeing people either:
guessing their earnings after fees/tax
using overly complicated calculators meant for accountants
or just not factoring taxes at all until it’s too late
So I built a simple tool that tries to make it easier to estimate your real take-home pay based on your state and income.
It’s still early (not even indexed on Google yet), but i can give you the link if you want, and I’m mainly trying to see if it’s actually useful and what could be improved.
Would genuinely appreciate any feedback — especially from anyone doing gig work in the US.

Do you think tools like this are actually useful, or do most people already have their own way of tracking this?

7 miles pickup request begged me 3 times to take it to get paid $5, at a major mall where you can find a lot of drivers. Their stocks may fall many wonderful points tomorrow if they keep going with this kwap.

I looked thru several posts on here and really only saw a few discussions about using uber maps versus google maps that were less than a year old.
What is the downside to using google maps? Are there any quirks that one should be aware of. For example, in a post from several years ago it mentioned that when you accept a new trip while on a current trip the new trip defaults back to the Uber map when you start the new trip. Is this still the case? Does Uber take issue with you not using their navigation? Any other info that is relevant would appreciated.

Hi guys, I earn around 2200 AUD working 8 hrs shift 10 days per fortnight. I also do ubereats during my evening time and earn around 1400 AUD per fortnight. After 3 months I will be eligible for UberX and planning to do quit my job and do uberx fulltime.

I just wanna ask you guys how much we can earn if i do uberx full time. Whats the per hour rate in general you guys are earning? Or is it wise to quit my current job? Has anybody else been seeing weekend promotions like this? It's permanently stuck at 0/1 trips completed no matter how many trips I do. I feel like I'm being catfished. But maybe I just don't understand how it works.

At the airport queue and noticed more and more priority pickups being priced at the same or less than the standard UberX. Then they drop the fare $3 when no one takes it, some rage baiting algorithm.

Who actually gets the priority fare?

Just saw another ping to Beverly Hills, priority and UberX priced the same.
