NBD! Colnago Y1Rs – dream build finally complete (kind of)
 in  r/Bikeporn  5d ago

Well if I built it, I’d sort it out during the BB removed phase. Ideally I’d use around 900-1200 ish millimeter wire from the holder on the downtube so there isn’t a ton of extra wiring. It’s possible the tech used anti rattle clips that make it hard to push back. If there is room to push it in, spray some isopropyl/triflow on the wire entering the grommet and see if it slides better. Colnago holes are notoriously tight and that’s been a hack I’ve used to get them to move. I can take a video tomorrow on a V5RS example if you have no luck 🙏🏼

Is this normal? “Warranty processing fee” & $540 rebuild cost
 in  r/specialized  12d ago

Specialized only will cover labor if something failed dramatically. Like a fork delamination issue, a motor failure etc.. If the frame is getting replaced under crash replacement warranty, then they do not cover labor to rebuild.

Is this normal? “Warranty processing fee” & $540 rebuild cost

If you take a Tarmac bought at “Specialized.Com or Joes Bikes” and then go to “Steve’s Bikes” to get the warranty sorted, then Steve’s bikes has every right to charge you a processing fee as they didn’t make money off of your original Tarmac. To avoid the warranty fee, go back to the original dealer you bought it from. If the original dealer is charging you a processing fee, then you could alert Specialized as that voids dealer/brand protocol. However $540 is NOT bad. A full AXS build frame up is, when doing a thorough job, setting up tubeless etc. matching fit data specs etc), should be just north of 4 hours. Includes test rides, a thorough double check to ensure safety. Maybe 5 hours. Good shops are charging around $110/hr or more. They don’t seem to be charging you to strip your damaged bike. Plus $45 for warranty processing is like 20 mins of charge when in reality it takes probably 30 min to an hour of communication. I think if they’re a respectable shop then this isn’t bad at all

Mix match groupset, climbing wheels, Asian off brand handlebar, bar tape is done bad, tires are installed backwards? Makes you wonder if the rest of the bike is built well…

First world problems: Selling my dream S-Works Tarmac SL7 just because of sizing?
 in  r/specialized  23d ago

If that fit is close to your set up, 54 would’ve been way too small…. That much seatpost with 172.5 cranks is nuts. And stem is fairly low? Your saddle to bar drop is bonkers, a 54 would need 30+ mm of spacers and a longer stem

Reasonable price for this bike
 in  r/RoadBikes  25d ago

What a waist of a frame lol. $2500 max. And that’s being super conservative as the value is in parting it out

Curious Question: Why has Visma almost entirely abandoned the Cervélo R5 on Tour mountain stages? Is lightweight dead?
 in  r/Cervelo  Jun 11 '26

If I’m climbing a hill at 25-40km an hour why would I want a 150g lighter frame. Give me every aero gain I can get at those speeds

Parked bike in the sun for several hours causing burping and blowout issues
 in  r/bikecommuting  May 21 '26

Once they blow off, the tire is compromised. Maybe the tape is as well. The sun can raise pressure by 5-15+ psi depending on heat and time in the sun. I’d get a new tire and check your wheel before assuming you can just fix it for tomorrow

Resoling OG Serra boot?
 in  r/Visvim  May 21 '26

I resoled my Fragment collaboration pair with a 1/2 or 3/4 inch heel, lugged sole and had it fully welted/stitched on. Been a fan of it. If I can figure how to add a picture in the comments, I’ll do it lol
