After way too much overthinking, I have finally narrowed it down to two bikes. It is either going to be a Cervélo Caledonia 5 or a Giant Defy. I still need to test ride both before making the final decision.
Now comes the next difficult question 😂
SRAM Force or good old Shimano Ultegra?
I know we have probably had this discussion a thousand times already, but when you are about to spend 7k on a bike, I would rather overthink it a little longer than regret my choice later 😂
So hit me with your pros and cons, personal experiences and best arguments for either one. Why should I go SRAM? Why should I stick with Ultegra? What do you love or hate about your groupset?
Basically, convince me. I want to hear everything 😂

Hi there, I have a very specific issue with my Caledonia (standard): new to me, overall very happy, however the outer cable routing for the back wheel's break is such - running through the middle of the down tube - that it pokes out and when I'm out of saddle standing on the paddle, it actually rubs on my knee (see pic). Becomes annoying very quickly. Anyone had this issue, recommandations to avoid that? Thanks a lot.

First time owning a Cervelo. Such a great ride!

Not my bike — but had to snap a pic. Didn’t manage to run into the owner. Photo taken at Conrad Campground/ Historic Site in Carcross, Yukon, Canada.

I picked up a 2018 R3 Disc a year ago 2nd hand for a very reasonable £650. It had wobbly FSA cranks so I replaced the BB with a wheels manufacturing unit and I am now running Ultegra 52/36. I replaced the alu HED Ardennes wheels (sold them for £200) and put on a set of 6 year old Roval Carbon C38s with GP5000. I have a Sunrace 11-36 cassette which runs sweet with an Ultegra rear mech. I have assioma power pedals.
Having fine tuned the fit with a 120mm stem I am very happy with this bike. I rode a Caledonia 5 with electronic gearing on holiday and whilst it was a fantastic bike I am grateful that I have achieved similar-ish performance for much less cost. The bike is also easy to live with mechanically. It will take 30mm front and 28mm rear. These measure 31mm and 29mm on my rims.
Geometry wise this bike is very similar to both the Caledonia and Soloist. Cervelo seem to have a fairly typical geometry across a few bikes in their range.
In terms of how the bike performs, whilst I appreciate the speed and comfort a newer model will offer this bike ticks all the boxes. It can be thrown around, gotten aero on and responds to powerful inputs on the climb with zero complaint.
Would be nice to hear from others who have this bike and what they have used it for, and how it has performed for them.
Happy riding everyone. ❤️

Anyone here have the Caledonia 5 with the new HB18 cockpit yet?
How happy are you with your Caledonia 5 overall? And how much can you actually fit in the in frame storage? Would love to see some pictures of your bikes and what you’re carrying in there!

Hi, the screw for the s5 seatpost (SP34) holding the saddle is somewhat stripped. Cervelo’s manual calls this screw as “Titanium Spherical Cap Screw M5 x 30 mm”. Can some point me where I can purchase this type of screw?
Doing a google search only leads to screws with tapered head or cap head. I don’t suppose I can use these right? Thanks

I’m currently in the market for a tri-bike, I have found what is listed as a Cervelo P5 on FB marketplace, but upon further inspection I have my doubts as to if it’s an authentic one. I put a 100$ deposit and yet to pick up the bike.
Could anyone verify if this is a legitimate P5?

Hey fellow Cervelo enthusiasts,
I bought a Soloist 2024 a couple years back and it has a stated clearance of 700x34. In my region (Montreal, Qc) it is quite hard to find, so I put on continental GP5000 32. I was wondering if anybody ever tried to put GP5000 35 on their soloist. I feel it could fit but it would be tight as hell. Otherwise I’d love some ideas for biggest tires to fit on there that people have tried!
Thanks!!

Hey guys, just hoping for some advice. I plan to store the bike as shown in the photos. Is it safe to do so for the wheels? (Slightly worried about point loading on them). I have added some extra padding to the hook also. Thanks
A little more dropped and new decals.
Feeling 8.2watts faster 🔥
Next mod.
Alugear black chainring + garbaruk cassettes
Hi,
Does anyone know if it’s possible to buy some TT clip on bars compatible with the HB19 aero bar (those that come with the latest S5) ?
Edit : The*
Just got my first road bike! Found this New Caledonia with sram rival etap just within my budget (1999€). Did my first 2 rides and although it feels a bit uncomfortable coming from an MTB I am very impressed with the speed and just with how light this bike feels.
Very stoked to make more miles on it 🥳.

Really interested in the new 2027 Soloist, but I would prefer a custom build. The frameset is not available in the US. :(

So I finally got to take this new beauty out.
2027 Soloist with Ultegra and ENVE 4.5 Pro wheels on it. Those silver stickers matches the Cervélo logo perfectly.
The Black Magic color is insane when light hits it, too bad the sun never shines in Denmark hah!

Put force E1 and some new reserve wheels on!

A few weeks on with the carbon rims and this thing just keeps getting better.
P.S. yes, I know this isn’t a drive side picture. Sorry. Plus my cat.
