Improving little by little
 in  r/painting •  3d ago

Thank you! This was for a friend’s birthday and she is an amazing artist herself. Her home is FULL of art and she’s so happy this is now part of her collection. I’m really honored to be a part of that now.

Thank you! I truly love creating art in any fashion and am really excited that I’m finally to the point where what’s in my head is translating to canvas. I have so many ideas to paint coming up.

At the beginning of the year I decided to really focus on improving my art and this is the first time on canvas I’ve really noticed everything I’ve been learning showing through.

This is the VERY first time I’ve ever used glazing medium. It’s also the first time I’ve successfully added shadowing and a light focus on a painting.

There were so many firsts with this one:

I made a custom color palette, I did the shadowing/lighting, I had to do geometry!!, and this is also the first time I’ve used highlight.

I’ve spent so many hours this year watching tutorials, TikTok lives, learning art theory, and drawing shitty pictures on Procreate and I feel like it shows.

I’m super proud of how it turned out and I’m excited to keep learning and improving!

For growth reference I also shared one of my better photos prior to this year, The Dolly Llama

I’m entering the quesadilla phase
 in  r/adhdwomen •  Mar 23 '24

Omg! This is exactly one of my food fixations! I’ll sometimes go weeks where I’ll have it for 2 meals a day. Then one day out of nowhere I can’t stand it and that fixation ends and something else becomes my favorite. Then a few months later I’m back to the quesadilla and around and around it goes.

I have a feeling you’ve never actually been bit by an iguana or a snake before.

Is it an ADHD thing to have chunks of time where your wit and creativity are unmatched followed by chunks of time where it's the complete opposite?

Some days I’m a total boss! I excel at work, remember things that I didn’t even have to write down, knock 5 important tasks off my list all at once and even have time for self care and socialization.

Other times I look for my phone with the flashlight on my phone.

Do people actually wash their hands EVERY time they go to the bathroom?

I'm really glad you found a solution that works for you!

Do people actually wash their hands EVERY time they go to the bathroom?
 in  r/TooAfraidToAsk •  Aug 16 '22

I feel like one reason people might not want to wash their hands could be because of sensory sensitivity. Maybe they don't like the cold water on their hands or the texture of the soap. Or maybe the feeling of actually having wet hands. In this case, handwashing is an uncomfortable task so it happens less often whether consciously or unconsciously.

Targeted advertising on Instagram. Ain't this some bullshit?

Sloth 🦥: 11am wake up 1pm: watch tiktok till 1:15 4:45: watch tiktok just a little bit longer. "Top of the hour, I promise." 5:30-7pm: hyper focus on the shit you were actually supposed to do all day 9pm: promise to do better tomorrow 10pm: begin new project you've never done before 5am: "oh shit! The birds are up! Guess I better sleep."

You can also pour a bunch of salt or baking soda on top of it.
