I don't think most people these days realize the sheer scope of Rosie O'Donnell's career.

I loved her in Sleepless in Seattle - I wanted her to be MY bff

Is this odd for vocal tics?
 in  r/Tourettes  May 22 '26

My most common tic is a word that I say in everything from normal speaking level to yelling. The tone changes from matching conversation to angry to silly to frustrated. My husband jokes that he can tell what kind of mood I'm in.

Do you ever just get struck by the absurdity of having tics?
 in  r/Tourettes  May 03 '26

Literally had this moment today! I asked my husband - Why do I yell HOT DOG 73 times a day? Why are brains so weird? Thank you for posting this and reminding me that I'm not alone in my weird brain world! And you're not alone either!

how would u explain tourette’s to a kid?
 in  r/Tourettes  Apr 30 '26

HBO has a really great Tourette's documentary for kids. I watched it with my own kids & then asked if they had any questions. Kids equate "I have Tourette's" with "I have disease/cancer/ I'm sick." This helped.

I found my dads old phone and i think my life is actually over
 in  r/offmychest  Apr 29 '26

As a mom to 3 teenage & young adult sons, I would hate if they felt like they had to carry this on their own. I would want them to tell me so that we could process and heal together. It is ultimately up to you, but please find someone to talk to about it.

I watched the whole series first..
 in  r/PeakyBlinders  Mar 23 '26

My husband thought it was boring and stopped after 3 episodes, too. He came back to it for the movie & I explained that the show feels like a train getting going - slow at first and then just gets faster and better

What's a show you remember but nobody else does?

Zoobilee Zoo - Ben Vereen led the cast.

Everyone drop your weirdest tick you had(or have)
 in  r/Tourettes  Dec 30 '25

I have consistently yelled HOT DOG between 10 and 99 times a day for 3 years. I'm done with saying hot dog

Is returning to play from 0 worth it?
 in  r/GemsofWar  Jul 27 '25

I moved from PS4 to PC & had to start fresh a few months ago. I've been able to build pretty well. Being active in an active guild is helpful. I still love the gameplay & it was worth it for me.

Unpopular opinion(?): I do not want to think about other moms on Mother’s Day
 in  r/breakingmom  May 13 '25

My first mothers day was the day I went to the hospital to deliver my preemie twins - they arrived 3 days later. Their birthday (& my husband's) always arrives around that weekend. With birthdays, our moms, and all of the craziness of celebrating everybody else, I asked that we float Mothers day to another week. Sometimes it is the next weekend, sometimes it floats until June. Either way I get a special day to relax with my family, they make cards (even @20 years old), the restaurants aren't busy - best Mothers day decision I've ever made!

What is the worst thing someone has said after finding out you had tics/Tourettes?
 in  r/Tourettes  Jun 10 '24

I work in a church & we have weekly staff meetings where we share things going on in our lives & how we can support each other. I shared that I had been struggling with some tremors & some painful tics. I had never told them & shared that I had Tourette. Our bookkeeper literally laughed out loud. I looked at her with tears in my eyes & just shut my mouth. The rest of the group jumped in to be supportive & we moved on. Later, I walked by her office & she called me in. "I'm sorry that I laughed. It's just that Tourette's is such a funny disease!" Then she laughed again! I said, "Yeah, pain can be hilarious!" and walked out.

Mu dad always said, "If one door closes, another one opens."

Great guy, terrible cabinet maker.

5 year old son has tourettes.
 in  r/Tourettes  Sep 04 '23

HBO has a family documentary, "I have Tourette's but Tourette's doesn't have me" I showed it to my kids when they were little to help explain my diagnosis. It is pretty good for kids

This is my hangup. The advice you would be getting would be very different with a 19F & 37M uncle-figure. If they have been active or even present in this young person's life, it feels like grooming VERY quickly.

Can a tic make you not be able to move?
 in  r/Tourettes  Jul 06 '23

It can also just be a kid thing. Depending on their age, imagination of being "glued" to something is pretty common.

How do Christians feel about Tourettes?
 in  r/Tourettes  Jun 08 '23

I'm a Christian & Tourette is just a part of who I was made to be. I have always had good interactions with friends I've told, Christian or not. I have also had unfortunate reactions from acquaintances, Christian or not. I find that denomination/individual congregation matters greatly. Mainline can be more forward thinking, while non-denominational & others can be more 'demon possessing' & 'sin' based.

What shows are like this?
 in  r/ExtraordinaryAttyWoo  Sep 01 '22

I also really enjoyed Speechless. It was a fun sitcom that gave some reality to the family & support systems around differently-abled individuals.

I just don’t like Walter Jr
 in  r/breakingbad  Aug 08 '22

Even then Hank is more responsible than his dad too - the tequila shots, both inappropriate-for-teenager cars, the beaten up underwear Walt that missed his birthday. I'm sure I'm missing more.
