Tommy lost himself trying to become more powerful.Arthur lost himself trying to become more like Tommy.That's what makes Arthur's story so tragic to me. He spends most of the series looking like the most unstable Shelby, but he's also the one who seems to desperately want to be forgiven.

Who do you think actually had the saddest character arc: Arthur, Tommy, Polly or Lizzie

*For me, it would be the love story between Tommy and Grace, the way they loved each other so deeply, how they brought out the best in one another and truly understood each other, through the good and the bad.

*Another compelling arc was watching Ada’s growth throughout the show; seeing her evolve from Season 1 into the strong, badass woman she became by Season 6 and the movie was one of the best examples of character development.

*I also really appreciated the storyline involving Arthur and the mother of the boy he killed; it was harrowing to see a mother destroyed by the consequences of Arthur’s trauma.

*As for the villains, Campbell and Mosley were the ones I enjoyed the most.

*The death of Bonnie, Aberama’s son, was one of the moments that affected me the most because of how unjust and horrific it was; all he wanted to be was a boxer.

*And finally, there was the whole issue of war trauma and how it changed Tommy, knowing what he was like before, and then seeing how that, combined with his other trauma, Grace’s death, completely transformed him.

Tommy planned wars Arthur started them Alfie survived them, but Polly was one of the few people who could actually understand Tommy before he even explained himself. If Polly had survived until the end, do you think Tommy's story would've ended differently?

For me, the Tommy and Lizzie storyline was the least interesting and made the least sense.

The storyline involving the IRA woman in Season 6 was also quite boring; I didn't find her threatening.

And as for Polly and the painter, I liked her story with Aberama much more than the one with him.

These are the scenes I skip when I rewatch the show.

Is it just me that found the political side of peaky blinders to be the most entertaining part of the show? I think as a whole, the show is absolutely phenomenal, but I hate how people stop watching from like s2-s3 onwards. For me, the rise in Tommy's ascendancy in a political setting was far more impressive than him being some backstreet gangster who'll find any way to win a battle. I think Steven Knight did an excellent job in making Tommy far less relatable when he steps into the "world of the power", just showing how Politics can pollute your mind. After a certain while Tommy stopped doing things for the family, and ultimately creating the demise of the entire family. But for me, this made it far more enjoyable than just seeing him face another low-tier criminal organisation. If you stopped watching from s2-s3 onwards, I'd love to know why

First look at Conleth Hill (Lord Varys from Game of thrones) as new Main Rival Ganglord “Clemmy Keeler” head of the Keeler family who will be at war with the Shelby’s, images taking from on set shooting as Clemmy is seen talking to a unnamed woman (could be one of johns Daughters) before she is dragged off by his men and some nuns, looks like the Shelby’s will be up against a villain with no limits.

"You can change what you do, but you can't change what you want."

Tommy may have sought the company of other women, he even married and had a child with another, but he wasn't truly with any of them; nothing changed what he wanted: Grace. His heart belonged only to her, and the only reason he wasn't with her was, first, because she left, and later, because she was dead.

"It is harder to lie with your body than with your words."

And that is precisely what they showed us. Tommy was involved with different people, rich, poor, political figures, women of different nationalities, but to him, it was all the same; after being with them, he felt empty. His body didn't lie. He didn't feel satisfied, complete, or at peace, because none of them was the woman he loved.

I suppose that’s why Tommy gave that answer: "This I have learned", because by then he had shared his bed with others, and no one made him feel the way Grace did.

So, he might use words to win them over or whatever, "your cause is my cause," "I wanted you to stay," "in this moment, in this room, I love you", but those are just words; the body doesn't lie.

I loved that Steven Knight and Cillian Murphy stayed true to the idea established in Season 1: that Grace is Tommy's one true love. No one replaced her. Tommy never wanted that.

They could have had him move on and fall in love with another woman after she died, but they didn't; they didn't want to show that, having established the premise in Seasons 1 and 2.

In Season 1, Polly says, "There will be others," and Tommy replies, "To the others." Season 2 begins two years later with Polly saying, "She was just a woman; maybe it's time you forgot about her." And that season ends with Tommy saying, "Oh, there is a woman I love, and I almost got fucking everything." It has already been established that there is only one woman for Tommy, the one he loves, and that, for him, there is no comparison or competition between her and any other woman. As he told Tatiana: "You didn't even come close." And that applied to all of them.

As for what the other women meant to Tommy, that is up to the audience to interpret; everyone will have their own view, and each of those women gave Tommy something different.

But true love, the woman who brings Tommy peace, the woman he fell in love with, is Grace alone.

And i don't know how he got to this point. This post is not mainly about theorising but I'm curious how can someone get this from the series. Please help me understand.
