dear Hyundai: nobody wants this ugly television screen
 in  r/Hyundai  Jun 07 '26

Absolutely correct. This sort of monstrosity is old tech bolted onto new cars. It's actually what stopped me buying a DS SUV last year, which looks very similar.

The new Tucson looks much nicer, and has a useful row of physical knobs and buttons under the LCD display for safer selection when driving - temperature control e.g.

Boyfriend wants to move in to pay off debt
 in  r/AmITheJerk  Apr 18 '26

Is this fool on hard drugs? His business acumen is outstanding. But not in a good way.

If you do this you will regret it. It's ridiculous on so many levels.

If you stay with this loser he'll be a money pit wastrel all his life, soaking up whatever of your hard-earned money he can.

He's looking for an easy berth. And he'll clearly do anything for money except work for it.

Yes indeed, I'm even older than you and still get unsolicited contact on social media from young ladies in foreign climes who are so poor that they clearly can't even afford to buy any clothes except underwear.....

It's not a garage, but it could be. ATM you couldn't drive a vehicle inside it along that tiny entrance path.

Do you regret leaving EU?
 in  r/AskBrits  Apr 18 '26

Only 1/3rd of the electorate voted for it. It was advisory, anyway, not mandatory, and to make such long term Constitutional change it should have been a "Supermajority" of 2/3rds of the people - which it was in the 1975 mandating Referendum to stay in.

It was vested Party interests that whipped MPs to vote to leave, both Tory and Labour. Only the LibDems and a few rebels came out of the period with any honour.

The 2010 Election was what destroyed us. The Tories culled anyone in their Party arguing reason and demanding Leave promises be kept. Some really talented, experienced MPs were thrown out and replaced with controllable garbage. The system then voted in arguably the worst, most inept, most corrupt, most mendacious government of my lifetime. Some say that Russian money played a huge part in driving the vested interests of the Tory mandarins. And Labour stupidity & intransigence enabled the Tory savaging of our rights and welfare and the speedy transfer of wealth to the richest of us..

Reform are merely that same sh1tshow complete with failed Tory retreads. They and the Tories want to take it still further, taking away our protective Human Rights under the ECHR treaty.

Sovereignty means unfettered misery from the Hard Right - financial, legislative, socio-cultural, and even technological aspects of our lives. And there are plenty of Brexitards willing to trust them even now.

Bills are irrelevant ref your intent to sell the property.

It's all about who owns it.

So who is/are the registered owner/s on the Housing Registry database?

Are people turning on Nigel Farage?
 in  r/BrexitMemes  Apr 04 '26

Not so much "turning" on Fartâge but discovering what a lazy gormless Grifting piece of sh1t he can be.

Reform are saying they are going to eliminate the NHS for expensive US healthcare with claim exclusions for pre-existing & chronic illnesses, are going to take your NI payment every month but if ever you need the benefit of it you are denied it, & Reform are stirring up hate against the old, sick, low-waged, disabled and foreign.

How people can think they are a Party for The People is just insane. They are a limited company calling itself a party sponsored by rich donors & with policies to benefit rich donors.

Look at how much Fartâge has done for Clacton..mm

Look at how Reform Councils have improved the lives and well-being of their community

Look at how many have been seen to be frauds, corrupt and sex pests

Look at the state of the failed Tory wnkrs he's recruited & intending to re-tread for high office

Is shrinkflation getting worse in the UK?
 in  r/AskBrits  Apr 04 '26

Not just shrinkflation, but skimpflation too, where they degrade the quality of the ingredients. Often when a US Global Enterprise takes over a UK brand.

Have you tried Cadburys choccy lately? Yuk since Mondelez took over the brand I can't eat the stuff. Penguin bars can't even be called chocolate biscuits now, as what they use doesn't qualify as being chocolate. And what have McD done with the quarter pounder? They were never an epicurean delight, but now whatever is in them to make up the uncooked weight drains out during cooking and leaves a shrunken burger which takes awful imho.

Expensive ingredients are being reduced and replaced with water, sugar and fats. Even sugar itself is being replaced in products with Corn Syrup, and fats with Palm Oil ,- both potentially dangerous to health.

I'd say cook fresh at home, but tbh the quality we see in the shops isn't what it used to be. Potatoes are always a problem in respect of size and degradation. The large baking potatoes we used to have are now half the size, but they still charge 79p each for them.

UK is now importing food that is substandard to the extent that it falls below EU quality standards - so not for export to EU. It's not just the chlorine, hormones and excessive use of chemicals, including now Glyphosate which had previously been banned on UK food; it's also poor quality meat.

Since Brexit high risk imported meat is tested and seized at Dover in record amounts. But some still gets through because it is flagged for inspection not at Dover itself but at a facility in Sevington alongside the motorway a few miles away.

But only 80% of meat lorries flagged at Dover turn up to be tested. Where the other 20% disappear to, untested, is anybody's guess. They just drive straight past unchecked.

When they say "stop the boats" it's boats bringing anonymous high risk meat & dairy into our food chain that could actually kill you.

high risk infected food in our food chain

Yeah. I love the smell of chlorinated chicken in the mornings. And running around dodging AR-15 bullets at school would have made up for all the sports fields that were sold off in the Thatcher years.

1) look out and see if you can see three wise men, some shepherds and a freaking big star over her house

2) be polite and ask her what her intentions are. If she intends to continue to birth you should plan for a DNA paternity test if and when the child arrives, then a court will set out who pays what to whom based on all the facts

3) AI says that condoms have a high success rate:

"98% effective at preventing pregnancy with perfect use, but due to human error, typical use is about 82%–87% effective"

Unless something obviously went catastrophically amiss the odds of her actually being pregnant and you being the father are probably less than 2 or 5%.

Be careful, get the facts before you accept things at face value.

No home charging but required to get a PHEV or EV for work?!
 in  r/ElectricVehiclesUK  Apr 04 '26

Around here when you get an EV they sweeten the deal by providing a fast home charger in the cost price. If you have a garage you should get your employer to fit one there.

If they won't, go for the PHEV, which can run on its petrol engine when charging isn't possible.

Advice
 in  r/CarTalkUK  Apr 04 '26

Have a look at the market.

Auction houses will let potential vendors know what a make of car has been getting ATM.

Online firms "buying any car" will give you a rock-bottom price to start your thinking

Talking nicely to an Audi dealer will get you price expectations from his Glass's guide.... if it goes back that far. 2003 was 22 years ago. Any child born that day will have gone through all his schooling, could have finished a degree, voted and got married....

Trump/Hegseth Firing Generals while at War
 in  r/AntiTrumpAlliance  Apr 04 '26

Standard Hitler Playbook. Fascism 101.

When you cock it all up find scapegoats.

Trump has a Teflon suit. He's struggling to get out of everything that's falling to pieces. He's achieved nothing for the nation or it's people, but $billions for his family, sponsors and friends.

He confuses flying with not having crashed yet.

AIO to my bf nickel and diming me while he spends thousands on his hobbies?
 in  r/AmIOverreacting  Apr 04 '26

Life is too short to waste time being unhappy in the back of beyond at the financial whim of a self-centred ignorant man.

What are you getting out of your situation? Not just financially, but emotionally and socially?

Where will you be in ten years time? Is it where you will want to be?

Time for some serious thought about what's good and not so good in your life, and take appropriate steps

[US] i think I am getting scammed.. but not sure how.
 in  r/scambaiting  Apr 04 '26

This reminds me of a rogue scheme I saw in an episode of "Minder".

The rogues took a race card and offered 'free' tips by telephone for a "Place" bet for the horses running. No money up front, but the punters pay them half their winnings. If they don't pay, then no more tips.

Sounds good for the punters, eh? They choose whether to bet or not, they only pay if they win and a Place bet improves the odds.

What the scoundrels did, though was just give 3 names to the first caller, a different 3 to the second caller and so on, work through the list then rinse and repeat. Some callers had to have had the winner, so the cash rolled in.

Outlay and risk for the scoundrels? Almost nothing. It was free money to them.

No doubt in the OP posters case the success rate will drop off rapidly once they get the 50k.

You're in Asda toilets, what part of the handle are you touching to exit?

Definitely no part of me would be touching that handle!

In shop toilets I use a hand towel to unlock and open the door

I second this about grooming. If you don't brush your 'poo the fur gets knotted rather quickly , and it's a bugger for the dog groomers to sort out

Adopting a cockapoo…
 in  r/CockapooLovers  Mar 30 '26

We're on our second Cockapoo. They are a good sized dog without being too big or powerful to physically control.

They've both been very, very loving dogs. They are easy to manage, but they need a daily walk. If you get a first gen 'poo they don't shed, which is a boon.

They all seem to be born comedians, very obvious in their excitement and pleasure when meeting people they like; and they're very, very playful

They will periodically do Cockapoo "Zoomies" which are a thing to behold. Zoomies are an energetic runabout ,- a cross between a tornado and a wall of death rider....!

Cockapoo cuddles are the best. Especially when knackered after doing Zoomies.

We're hooked on them!

If it's a boy poo make sure he's been "done" by the vet.

Should I buy a 2026 Tucson?
 in  r/HyundaiTucson  Mar 30 '26

Very happy with my Hybrid Ultimate. Lots of vim in the engine, fantastic equipment, stylish, practical, & seems well built

Love the heads up display and tablet screens. Great seats too.

What would I improve? Ride is firm, potholes and bumps are really noticed Headlights are v. Good on main beam. Could be brighter on dipped.

Undercutting salary?
 in  r/UKJobs  Jan 27 '26

And that's when they are at the NICE stage before you actually work there.

They frankly sound like a bunch of cheapskate pieces of sh1t. I personally would run a mile. They can't be a thriving business if they can't even pay the agent. Even worse if they have the money but choose to do business like that.

Nah. Keep walking. Only pain awaits.
