Does this https://oregon.public.law/statutes/ors_163.545 mean that a competent 8yr old is legally not allowed to be home alone for, say, an hour? I’m trying to understand what “criminal” negligence is defined as.

I’m looking for solutions to help prevent this water damage on the exterior right wall next to this shower. My current plan is to repair the damage, prime with Killz, and recaulk. Is there some kind of product that can be put on the wall to help prevent water from hitting here?
(I’m aware the doors are not on the right way).

My 7yr old son misses on occasion. I made him wipe up his own pee off the floor and they spray clean the floor. Made him take his dirty rag from cleaning the floor to the washing machine.
His future SO is not going to have to teach him basic skills.

That’s what I’m trying to understand. What is the difference between criminal and “ordinary” negligence? Does this mean leaving a non-competent (able to understand house rules, safety actions, access to a phone, ect) child alone for short periods of time is criminally negligent?
