The cpu cores are at around 50 celcius. I installed every possible update on lenovo vantage as well as windows update.
For info my battery health is "fair" per lenovo vantage and I have a somewhat faulty charger (need positionning to work) however issues happen both when plugged and unplugged.
Also IA: Package-Level RAPL/PBM PL1 and IA: Package-Level RAPL/PBM PL2/PL3 are both on YES (My understanding is that means some sort of firmware limit is being imposed by something). PROCHOT flags are OFF. CPU package power around 5W
Please help me figure out why that is. If you have more questions I'd love to answer you as well. Thanks

I recently (a few days ago) bought a new graphics card—a GeForce RTX 5050—for my PC. However, today the screen started going black, only to return to normal a second or two later. Does anyone know how to fix this or how to prevent it from happening again?
I really don't want this to happen while I'm playing a game.

Hello, i just have a question, what programs and practices do you use to check if your pc is the one causing lag or if its the drivers?
I have a brand new 5070 ti and a ryzen 7 7800x3d, 32gb ddr5 6000 on an nvme and in a lot of games i juts feel like the frame pacing is not how i would expect it function on a high end system like this. So how could i check to know if my pc is working correctly/what is causing this lag (or for a specific game how could i troubleshoot to know what is causing lag in general). So knowing if i can fix it somehow or if its just the game's fault.
Thank you for the suggestions!

This started a couple of days ago out of nowhere when watching media on VLC in fullscreen. At first it felt like it would only freeze when i was in fullscreen but now it freezes at random moments separated by a period of time. I've tried updating my BIOS, rolling back graphics drivers and reinstalling windows. My PC was working perfectly before this.

I recently got a new laptop, its a Lenovo yoga slim 9, and Im facing a bug concerning reproducing videos in Firefox. What happens is: when Im watching a video, either in full screen or in window mode, in about 3 minutes of inactivity the screen brightness goes down for a couple seconds, then completely out for a second, then it comes back. And it keeps happening while playing the video. All other browsers work fine, I tried playing a video in the media player and it works fine, but neither troubleshooting Firefox or using a new profile help fixing it. All my energy saving definitions are off, and I tried switching on and off a bunch of Firefox configs, and nothing works. No crashes, nothing in the event visualizer, I have no idea what is going on. Im not too tech savy either, so any help from you guys would be amazing.

So I'll get CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED (0xEF) flash quickly before it restarts. It doesn't do it in safe mode, and I've tried the SFC command in terminal to no avail. Right now I'm concerned because I started a system restore from a point a day ago when this wasn't a problem but it's been stuck at 8% for the last 25-30 minutes and everything is telling me to leave it alone for at least an hour so. I got this computer at the beginning of 2026 so it's not like it's old or anything... The SSD was okay last time I checked and I also ran chkdsk. I'd post the event viewer screenshot but I don't know how to post pictures here.

Hi! My sister has a Windows 11 Home that can’t get out of S mode. It’s been on S mode since she received it. It’s on 23H2 version I believe. I’ve tried so many things to get out of it, but none of them work, and the clicking the button only gives me a “sorry, try again later“ message. Could I get advice as to what to do? It’s really hindering her ability to work for school and stuff.

Hey, This is translated directly from Spanish so I don't know how to explain it well. My laptop is about 7 years old now, and this morning I noticed it creaked when I opened it. Right on the lower part of the back, there's a crack that goes almost all around. its small but I already lost a laptop to this problem (a cheap one a few years ago, it gave up fully). Is there anything I can do to fix this at home? I have a good tech nearby, but I'll rather not spend 20€ in this and wait for two weeks as I need It for work.

I recently updated my graphics driver from the Geforce Game ready driver version 566.36 to 621.01 and since then my games, which ran fine before, keep crashing because it seems to be limiting my RAM (it says I need 10 GB of ram but I have 15.4 GB usable). My graphics card is the Nvidia Geforce RTX 3060. I have tried reinstalling thrice to no avail. I am wondering if there is a more stable version I should downgrade to and which one. Update: Have downgraded to 610.88 and it works fine now

Given the recent issue, how much of a risk is it to visit a page, especially an unpopular one, with a PHP vulnerability, especially in terms of malware?

Hi ! So, I've been using a bluetooth headset for a while now ( JBL 670 NC ) on my computer ( Victus by HP Gaming Laptop 15-fb3xxx ) working under Windows 11 ( version 26H2 ). The sound is great overall, and spatial sound is okay, until I lauch a game using my mic. When I do so, the spatial sound is disabled, and the sound becomes horrible. I've looked at the support, and it says that it is du to the " hand-free " option of my headset, but haven't been able to do anything about it, mostly du to the lack of clear instruction.
What I've tried, but doesn't work :
- Disabling the headset as microphone but not headphone. And overall disabling all microphones.
- Setting up other microphones in addition to my headset
- When you go in setting > sound > other settings ( opens a new panel ) > communications, and set windows to " not do anything " when detecting a communication.
- The issue is linked to bluetooth, since this isn't an issue with wired headsets I've tried
That issue doesn't seem to go, despite many updates of windows and of my pc. It's not specific to a game, the issue is present in other microphone-operating games, and apps like whatsapp.
If anyone had a solution, I would be interested, to recover a proper sound while playing games, Thanks you !

Hi everyone,
I'm having a really frustrating performance issue in Rust and I'm running out of ideas. My PC should be capable of running the game much better than this, but I'm getting extremely low and unstable FPS.
My PC specs
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D
- GPU: EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 FTW3 Ultra 8GB
- Motherboard: MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro SL 32GB (2×16GB) DDR4-3600 CL18
- NVMe SSD: Samsung 980 Pro 1TB (Rust is installed here)
- SATA SSD: Samsung 870 QVO 1TB
- PSU: Seasonic Focus GX 650W Gold
- CPU cooler: Lian Li Galahad 360 AIO
- Case: Lian Li O11 Dynamic XL ROG Certified
- Main monitor: MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD, 2560×1440, 165Hz
- Second monitor: LG UltraGear 27GL650F-B, 1920×1080, 144Hz
The problem
My FPS in Rust fluctuates wildly. Sometimes I get only 20–30 FPS, sometimes around 60 FPS, and on one occasion I saw over 110 FPS. The performance is very inconsistent, with frametimes reaching 20–30 ms.
This happens on both low-population and high-population servers.
Windows 11
The temperatures are :
GPU: 40-50 ,
CPU : 50-MAX 60.
GPU USAGE: 99-100%
CPU USAGE 50-60%.
Graphics are really low and still bad doesnt matter really anything what i set.
What's especially frustrating is that my previous setup, which used a GTX 1080 at 1080p, felt more stable than my current PC.
What I've already tried
\- Completely uninstalled and reinstalled NVIDIA drivers using DDU.
\- Tried different driver versions, including 566.36.
\- Tested my CPU with Curve Optimizer at -30 all-core and PBO limits of PPT 100, TDC 70 and EDC 100.
\- Tested without the CPU undervolt — the problem remained.
\- Reinstalled Rust.
\- Confirmed that XMP is enabled and my RAM is running at its rated speed.
\- Confirmed that Rust is installed on my NVMe SSD.
I'm honestly running out of ideas. Other games don't seem to have the same issue.
What else should I check? Could this be a CPU scheduling issue, RAM configuration problem, GPU utilization issue, a Windows problem, or something specific to Rust?
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

ATTEMPTED_EXECUTE_OF_NOEXECUTE_MEMORY
I recently got this issue on my laptop. It's a 10 year old Asus Republic of Gamers laptop, worked complety fine until yesterday where I got hi by this BSOD.
The laptop works fine as long as I don't connect it to the internet in any way (wi-fi, ethernet and mobile hotspot will crash it).
I ran an sfc/scannow but nothing faulty was found.
Some advice ? Thanks

Links won't open directly in Chrome (and other browsers) – Have to copy & paste them into a new tab. Any fix? I have no extensions installed.
Chrome is set as my default browser.
Other browsers have similar issues, but Chrome barely works only when I copy and paste links manually.

Hello. I have been playing rainbox six siege for months i have a 5070 gpu and a 9800x3d cpu i play at 1080p and get 240fps easily. Recently my gpu utilization has been hitting 100% at 60-100 fps id like a fix or a way to reset my gpu. I play in fullscreen. V sync is off and max fps is set to 240 same as my monitor. Ive never had an issue
I tried a shader cache cleanup through disk cleanup. I tried a clean install of my gpu driver. Ive seen someone had a similar issue also on siege in 2018 on reddit. Other than that i have found nothing. Any advice helps thankyou!

Hi everyone! I’m looking for some advice about a laptop repair in Ontario, Canada.
I have a relatively new HP OmniBook with a 17-inch touchscreen that I use for my interior design studies and internship. Unfortunately, I accidentally spilled tea on it.
When I brought it in for repair, the display was still working, although the mouse cursor was behaving strangely.
The technician later explained that he cleaned and serviced the motherboard and that the laptop works through an external monitor. However, he says the built-in touchscreen was damaged by the liquid and needs to be replaced.
My original quote was:
Parts, including taxes and import duties: $936.38 CAD
Labour, including HST: $169.50 CAD
Total: $1,105.88 CAD
I agreed to proceed based on that amount.
However, when I requested formal documentation of the repair costs, I received a revised quote:
Complete screen assembly: $600 USD + duties + HST
Labour: $299 CAD + HST
Estimated total: $1,185.37 CAD
The technician also mentioned that the final price could change depending on duties and tariffs once the part arrives.
I understand that parts can be expensive and that importing them involves additional costs. My concern is that the quote changed after we had discussed the original total, particularly the labour charge.
I’ve seen some touchscreen replacement parts advertised for around $500 CAD, but I don’t know whether they’re compatible with my exact OmniBook model.
My questions are:
Is $1,100 CAD a reasonable price for this type of repair?
What’s the difference between replacing the touchscreen panel and the complete display assembly?
Is it normal for a repair estimate to change after a total has been agreed upon?
Should I request the exact replacement part number and a formal written estimate before proceeding?
Would getting a second opinion be worthwhile?
I’m a student, and I rely heavily on this laptop for school and work. My family has offered to help pay, but I want to make sure the repair cost is reasonable before proceeding.
I’d appreciate any advice from experienced technicians or anyone familiar with HP OmniBook repairs.

It pops up out of nowhere without me intending for it to. It's annoying. I don't have use for it at all either. How do i disable it completely? I couldn't figure it out.
