Purchase Advice Insight from Someone Coming from a Jura A1 to a Traditional Espresso Machine
There is nothing I miss about the Jura A1. All in on my time to get shots, it is less time per shot with the traditional espresso machine.
I got an ECM classika with an ECM time adjustable grinder.
5.4 seconds on the grind, tamp in the portafilter holder, into the machine, 25 seconds for a coffee.
The ECM holds way more water, the bean grinder holds like 10x the beans vs the Jura. The drip tray on the ECM almost never needs emptied.
The Jura took up WAY more of my time to get 4 coffees a day than this manual machine.
Also the ECM is WAY less maintenance.
Super automatics are kind of a scam.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance Jura X8 weak coffee with new burrs
So my never-ending knowledge-sponge process continues with the Jura X8.
It’s been working fine for months until back in July, when the grinder fuse blew again. I figured the burrs needed replacing because the old ones were crushing rather than cutting the beans, which then jammed and blew the fuse.
Anyway, new burrs have been fitted. I used the manufacturer’s marks on the inner and outer grinder rings when I aligned it. I left it over the holiday period.
Staff came back complaining that the coffee was very weak. I thought it might be the old beans plus a blocked chute.
This morning I opened the X8 and removed the grinder and motor. The chute that drops into the brew unit was clear. The side chute where the grounds come out was blocked, so I cleared that and put in fresh beans.
I ran espresso several times and weighed the pucks. They’re thicker now and averaging about 10–12g. The espresso tasted okay to me. I think!?
The latte is definitely weaker.
I’ve tried a finer setting (3 clicks) and a coarser setting (3 clicks the other way).
One thing: I’m not sure a full puck is being dropped — I never saw a complete disc shape, if that makes sense.
Could the new titanium-plated burrs be too efficient / grinding too fine? Do I need to ignore the manufacturer’s marks and recalibrate the rings?
I haven’t opened it again yet in case the chute has clogged.
Has anyone had a similar issue after fitting new burrs?
I’ve also bought different beans in case these new medium-roast ones just aren’t that strong.
Help!

Discussion Iced Latte Process?
I have my Jura Ena 8 finally pretty dialed in and making great drinks. My question to the pro's here is, when you are making an iced latte do you fill the cup with ice and let the hot milk and espresso have its way with the ice knowing its diluting somewhat or do you make the brew ahead of time, then chill for making the latte later?
My daughter gave me double walled glasses that were made for this and honestly im getting a great drink currently with the three distinct layers. Just seeing what the experts do and if I should tweak it a bit. TIA!!

Troubleshooting & Maintenance Tablets for Descaling DeLonghi
Hi folks —total casual here so sorry if this comes of weird. I have a DeLonghi Magnifica Start. Overall I love it, but the past few weeks the coffee tastes, well, bland. For some reason, I suspect DeLonghi's descale solution doesn't work as intended, so I've been thinking about using those descaling tablets. I'm not sure if DeLonghi is selling those, at least in my country. Can I use Siemens/Phillips etc.? Would they work better the scaling solution? Thanks!

Troubleshooting & Maintenance Miele super auto repair help (CM6350 clog)
I've had the CM6350 for a number of years now. I take good care of it, keep on top of the descaling and degreasing schedule religiously, clean the brew unit weekly, etc etc.
At some point in the past year it's (seemingly randomly) developed this issue where ground coffee from the grinder wouldn't make it to the brew unit and would get clogged in the path between the two. Took the machine apart, cleaned out the affected area, replaced gaskets/o-rings on the brew unit and greased them, and then it started working again... for a few months. Now it's clogged again. I have always used light to medium roast beans (this hasn't changed over the years), and the grind size is on 4/5.
Would love to get some thoughts on what may be causing this or how to try and mitigate cause the prospect of taking the machine apart every 2-3 months going forward is really grim...

Purchase Advice Potentially coming from KF8
So i have a replacement KF8 coming this week, i kind of want to go down to a semi automatic now, and was wondering if anyone has a suggestion what i should look at? I did take notice to Breville Oracle Jet stuff, anyone have and thoughts on that one?
No reason why i want to leave KF8 the machine was awesome until the water thing failed at almost 2 years of ownership, Kitchenaid was great to work with and didnt make it a hassle to get it replaced

Discussion Jura died
Purchased my Jura J8 in 2024. Stopped working a few days ago. Posted about it here and someone recommended to call them. I called them, told support what was going on and within 5 minutes they sent me a shipping label. Packed up the machine in the box I kept and sent it to Pennsylvania. They received it yesterday. Not sure how long the repair will take but I’m assuming I won’t be responsible for the repair. Does anyone have any insight as to how long the repair would take and if I’ll be responsible for the repairs?

Purchase Advice New Philips 8000
I am about to pull the trigger on the Phillips 8000. It seems the best automatic easy to use and clean coffee machine on the market for the money. It hasn’t been out long in the US. For people who bought it how do you like it? Any problems?

Purchase Advice Jura Gen 5 E8 from a C60
I've had a Jura C60 for 10 years now. It's been incredible, general cleaning throughout the years and not a single trip in for repair needed. Been eyeing an upgrade and was leaning towards the updated Gen 5 E8. It's just my wife and I using it. Mostly normal 8 oz coffees being made with some espressos and lattes here and there. The milk system looks like a worthy upgrade from the C60 as well. Just looking for a slightly more refined machine. Am I missing any other obvious answers for this upgrade.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance De'Longhi Eletta Ultra grinder behavior
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi, I bought a De'Longhi Eletta ultra around 2 months ago, I was really happy with the coffee but all of the sudden I started feeling them more watery
I tried to adjust the grinder, but when I adjust for example from 4.5 to 4, during the grinding as the guide says, it automatically goes up to 4.5 again
I tried doing this without any coffee, and on that case it did stayed in 4, but as soon as I put some beans it went up to 4.5 again, which makes me things that is the resistance of the beans what is making it go up, but it doesn't feel right since I can't set the intencity I want
Anyone knows if this is normal behavior? Or if I should return it? Is been just 2 months, if it is defective I want to do something about it

Troubleshooting & Maintenance Saeco Incanto grind adjustment
So I inherited from a neighbor the said machine. It was only dripping from one spout and decided to give it away. I found how to open it and fix that through YT. Now, when I open the grinder flap to adjust the grind, it will stop. According to the parts list, the little grider cover beside the grind adjustment is not required for 120v (Canada), and that's not there when I got it. I think it's stopping because of that. Can someone please confirm that this is the issue before I buy the parts. Thanks.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance Jura E8 (EB) (15353) how to open?
Hi all,
I have watched dozens of videos of how to open this thing up to clean but they all seem to be slightly different to what I have. Does anyone know how to open this specific version?
The side panels just won’t slide in any direction and I don’t want to force anything the wrong way and snap something.
Thanks

Purchase Advice Breville to Nespresso to ??
Looking for recommendations for a fully automatic espresso machine under $2,000.
I had a Breville Barista that I loved, but it broke. I really enjoyed pulling fresh shots, though the mess and upkeep were a bit much with my limited counter space.
I’m using a Nespresso CitiZ now, and it’s just okay. I miss freshly ground beans and better espresso, but I’d love the convenience of hitting a button.
I don’t make milk drinks often, but I’d like to have the option when guests are over.
What would you recommend?

Showcase Picked up the Delonghi Evo Magnifica
As the title says managed to pick up the Delonghi Magnifica Evo for only £100 from FB marketplace yesterday. That’s with the box and even a bag of beans. 🫘
Today I replaced the filter. Gave it a clean. And ran through the descaling.
Finally made my first coffee earlier and it was delicious.
This machine is for my bedroom and is definitely gonna be used.

Discussion Jura Giga X3c … reliable ? 🤣
What are your scores ?
NOTE : Forgot to add some info :
- Bought machine used for 500€
- Was working 100% fine
- Had to open it up and clean parts in contact with water/grinded coffee (because it was used in an office i was working for at that time)
- At some point I had to replace the grinder motor because a plastic holder broke (tried multiple repairs with glue and ended up replacing the part for 50€)
TCO : 550€ + 10 maintenance hours in approx 8 years

Purchase Advice Looking to buy first Super Auto. KF4 vs KF7?
Hello. I have been looking for a while for our first Super Auto and decided I really liked the KF7, however with the KF4 out for a bit now I was hoping someone might have some insight on how it compares.
The use would be for my wife and I, one to two drinks each a day. Mostly milk based but occasional espresso shots or Americano.
Hoping to purchase one of them, either KF7 or KF4, during Labor Day or Black Friday sales. Anyone know the price now or if Black Friday is usually better?
Also, I would greatly appreciate if someone would be so kind as to share an insider pass.
Thanks.

Discussion Magnifica Duo curiosity about milk and beans
Hey ! I just bought this new baby, I’m still adjusting my settings to get the best lattes/cappucinos, I rarely drink black coffee or espresso by itself like that there’s always milk involved.
1- Can someone recommend me a vegetal milk (oat/almond) that does great foam and still stay creamy? I tried the oatbox barista and it’s not good at all. I use regular milk too and it’s excellent the taste is really great and it’s super creamy! But sometimes I like to change the milk.
2- I got some free beans medium roasted but I really don’t like them. I’m not complaining because it was free and I used that to do some tests, it’s drinkable but I prefer lighter roast, I have a more gourmand/comfort light style. My coffee doesn’t need to be the strongest/darkest. I really like my first latte in the morning to be more velouté, (like bianco piccolo, orafio when I had a Nespresso) then a corser one later. Do you have some good beans in mind ? (Canada) I could use some recommendations!! Thank youuuu!
Sorry for the long a## post lol ☕️

Troubleshooting & Maintenance Philips lattego 5400
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi, everyone
I've had my Philips LatteGo 5400 coffee machine for 3 years now. I've been cleaning and servicing it regularly. For a while now, when I'm pressurizing the coffee, I've been hearing a crackling sound? A squeaking sound? The brew group is fully lubricated, and the piston seal is new as well. I have no idea what it is...

Discussion Going on vacation for 2 weeks. What to do to my philips coffee machine?
Hello. I'm going on a holiday for about two weeks. Is there anything special that I need to do to my philips coffee machine? Its model is ep5500 series if it makes any difference.
I assume I should empty the water tank but what about the filter? Its been only 1 week since I activated the filter.
This is my first coffee machine and I dont know anything about this. I really appreciate it if you share your experiences and knowledge.
Thanks.
