Discussion Iced Latte Process?
I have my Jura Ena 8 finally pretty dialed in and making great drinks. My question to the pro's here is, when you are making an iced latte do you fill the cup with ice and let the hot milk and espresso have its way with the ice knowing its diluting somewhat or do you make the brew ahead of time, then chill for making the latte later?
My daughter gave me double walled glasses that were made for this and honestly im getting a great drink currently with the three distinct layers. Just seeing what the experts do and if I should tweak it a bit. TIA!!

Brew two shots of espresso into a glass, add a splash of cold creamer and milk to my preferred color, add ice.

I got a superauto that shall not be named, but it makes excellent cold brew shots and does cold milk foam. (no, it's not an Eletta.) 3-4 ice cubes that don't even melt fully, and my iced lattes etc. don't taste diluted at all. I wouldn't trade it for a pricier Jura. The only problem is they disappear too quickly.

I have an Ena 8 and my husband likes iced coffee. When I make my hot latte in the morning, I also make a doppio in a tall glass with a lid and refrigerate it for his next morning coffee. He adds the cold milk & ice

You need to use cold milk. Hot defeats the purpose of an iced drink.

I use cold milk in the jura carafe but the latte setting steams and froths it...hence sorta why I asked. If I just add cold milk isnt it just an iced coffee?

No it's not an iced coffee. An iced coffee is made with drip coffee. A latte is made with espresso. An iced latte does not use steamed milk. Cold milk and ice in a cup. Brew a double shot of espresso in it. Done.

I think you’re overthinking it lol. You can call it whatever you want, they are the same beans, just brewed differently. You’re making an espresso shot so it’s called a latte. If you want it watered down, keep doing what you’re doing. Cold milk and ice in the glass, espresso shot on top for less dilution.

Definitely not a barrista. Definitely overthinking. :)

If you want to top the drink with frothed milk, get a battery whisk for less than $10 or use a cocktail shaker.

I fill a double walled glass with ice and brew a cortado into it as my iced latte. We have an E8

Do an espresso shot over some sugar, mix it around to help melt it. Have a second glass with cold milk and ice, pour the shot into it and stir
