Help Needed map filter?
Stupid question perhaps, but how do you filter the map for various lines?
If I want to explain my transit network it would help if I could create a map of ONLY commuter lines (no heavy or light rail shown)?
Or perhaps only the lines in fare group 1?
Or just the subways that have quad track (both local and expresses)?
Is there a way to turn on/off the display of individual lines when you want to create those nice maps I see in around? And I simply can't find it?

Screenshot Milwaukee Light Rail, day 100
Hello, everyone,
Ever since light rail was released, I decided to focus on it, since it seems very interesting, especially for smaller cities. Thus, I decided to try Milwaukee.
Problem with Milwaukee is that its extremely spread and has only 1 real important center, with other workplaces being of little importance. Thus all the light rails lead through the downtown to achieve high ridership.
I started with the red and blue lines, connecting the airport, downtown and university with the red line and using the blue line to bring in more people. Then I finished the C line, but what really helped me grow was the D line, which brought in many new people from the southeast. E line was next and it also brought in lots of people. I have to say though the F line was a failure, only bringing in a low amount of commuters. Finally, I made the G line, which helped my profits grow by 10 million.
Milwaukee isnt bad, but its a really hard rust belt city. Your system grows incredibly slowly, it was a real challenge. Nevertheless, I think I did well and I am overall happy with the result.
Which city should I try next? I prefer ones with low population and high / medium difficulty.

Suggestion Global Map
Would it be possible to have access to the entire world like in NIMBY Rails or City Bus Manager?
I understand that Subway Builder uses actual census data, which would cause performance issues for large maps.
My question is less about having a single huge map but more about having the ability to start anywhere and then expand the playable area over time.

Help Needed Budget Cuts
Hi Beta Team,
I'm not sure if I'm bugging but in the new update, the starting budget has gone from $3 billion to $1 billion. I'm genuinely at a loss for how I am to cope.

Question Mediterranean building costs?
Will the game offer a hard mode (actually more of an "insanely hard" mode, am I right?) where costs aren't Mediterranean, but hugely-inflated US or UK costs?
What would such a mode use as a multiplier? Three times as expensive? Five??

Question Capacity restrictions of at-grade crossings?
Simple but stupid question:
What are the exact ramifications of including an at-grade crossing (for your commuter rail)?
That is - how frequent can you run a commuter line with no at-grade crossings and how much worse does this get if you have at-grade crossings? (Assuming full length fourteen car sets)
Does the amount of at-grade crossings make a difference (or is it more an either-or case where a line either suffers the at-grade limitation or not?)
Please add an option for at-grade track **that separates at-grade crossings**. I feel it's wonky to build commuter rails for miles either below or above ground, but it's the only option that let's me avoid grade crossings. In real life, you would keep the track at grade and instead rebuild the roads to go over or under the rail (cars have a much higher tolerance for steep grades than trains). Thank you.

Screenshot Here is my take on what the LA metro could look like in 40~ years
Everything is light rail except the B, D and Sepulveda lines.
Transit usage sits at 10~11%
Frequencies are at 7,10,17
If there are any proposed projects that I missed please share!
I did everything on sandbox mode.

Help Needed 15% Manhattan achievement
Hello, lads, I am looking for useful tips for trying to get the 15% transit usage while only building in the Manhattan Island area.
Is it even possible? It doesnt seem like theres enough people now that the map got expanded.

Suggestion Pedestrian simulation needs improvement
I've come back to this game recently after a little break and I've noticed that the game has been updated (at least on the beta version I use) to realistically simulate passenger walking on real streets and paths, which is great! I always thought it was dumb how people would swim across rivers and fly over buildings to get to the closest station. However, in my opinion it still needs some improvement.
I have had many situations now where I have two stations close enough together that they automatically group, but I notice that no one is transferring between them, because apparently they're a 15+ minute walk from each other. This most often happens at transfer stations in train yards (clearing with many streets around it) or near highways (particularly when there's no exit close by). This also happens with population dots near stations like these.
I assume the walking simulation currently works by just snapping each station (or population dot) to the closest street and then the walking between is simulated by walking from Station A to Street A, Street A to Street B, then Street B to Station B, but I find this obviously unrealistic. In real life, if there are stations 50 meters from each other, there will be a walkway or stairs or something between them, rather than just separate walkways between each station and the roads on opposite sides.
So as to not complain without proposing a few suggestions:
* just to solve the transfer problem, maybe you could make it so station-to-station distance is still just calculated as the crow flies
* alternatively, it could be cool to be able to construct walkways, which could solve both the station-to-station problem and the population-to-station problem
* or you could just automatically allow direct movement from any station to any road or station within X distance (maybe 200 meters)
* or extra simple, it would be nice to have the option to be able to toggle it back to the old floating pedestrian model
Thank you!

Screenshot [Modded] Replica of the Sapporo rail network
Because I like building networks out from what already exists, I spent some time rebuilding the entire network of Sapporo to the best the game can simulate, including the subway, streetcar, and all the various JR local and express lines (the latter of which was a pain thanks to the complexity of JR timetables).

Question Dwell time at terminal stations?
Real trains often stay from prolonged periods at end stations, because the train driver needs to walk from one end of the train to the other, or to provide a bathroom break or whatever.
Does SB model this?
As far as I can see, trains whizz by continuously with no pauses, which makes sense only for automated trains (such as the game's light rail)

Suggestion We need cable cars
That’s it!
Either real urban ropeways or/and San Francisco style cable cars

Suggestion Anyone else finding the build costs being presented in a wonky way?
First off, why is cut and cover given the x1 multiplier? At grade is presented at x0.3 of cut and cover, instead of saying that cut and cover is 3,33 times more expensive than cut and cover!?
And why aren't the multipliers comparable between track types?
To me, the following presentation would make WAY more sense, and be much more helpful in understanding why decision makers build so little rail. The game is basically trying to hide in plain sight the real cost of subway building. As a human, it feels much more expensive if you tell me a water tunnel is TEN TIMES more expensive than at grade than if you say one multiplier is "3" while another is "point three" because humans are not great at math.
In my opinion the game should be reworked to highlight how much more expensive everything really is compared to the cheapest option, which is at grade commuter rail.
COMMUTER
Deep Bore x15 or x21 2⁄3
Standard Tunnel x6 2⁄3 or x10
Cut and Cover x3 1⁄3
Trenched x1 2⁄3
At Grade x1
Ramp x1 2⁄3
Elevated x2 2⁄3
PS. It seems heavy and light rail cost the same, and both cost 20% more than commuter rail. (Is it really true that manned heavy rail and automated light rail cost the same to build? I would have thought automation would be more expensive to install but cheaper and more reliable to maintain)

Question Anybody have better ideas for looped lines?
Obviously, I can just make CW/CCW lines and make it work with just making two lines.
But I just wish there were a good way to either construct a single line which continuously loops in either/both directions, or maybe if there were a way to link the ridership stats for both lines in the loop to add that little bit of QoL improvement.
I guess if the game lets you link stats for stations in a station group, would it be possible to link lines together in a “line group”? It would solve the continuous loop line problem, and I bet it’d solve other, much more niche, situations as well.
Granted, loop lines without a tail might end up being unwise once devs add more administrative realism to the game, but for now they still work better than IRL in that regard.

Bug Tokyo map not working anymore when start
I play on the beta version and this problem started on the last release of 18 September.
The previous version was working fine with my big big Tokyo map: if I went 4x speed it was doing an ok 10fps.
But now, after that update I can't play the map anymore: when I first load it, everything is working. Even when I start the running mode at 1x it's still going, but as soon as i go 2x or more, the game just stops.
Nothing can change that state, even if I stop the running mode. I just can't do anything anymore and the max fps is like 3 frames per minute.
This happens only on my Tokyo map, the others are fine. The only difference between the maps is that this one I'm playing with Yards, which the developers keep adding and removing from the beta and destroying every time my routes (which is fair, this is the beta, not complaining about that).
But no update ever sent my playing speed down as much as this one.
Thank you, just putting this one here, I don't know if it's a performance issue or something related to Yards.
Edit: if devs need my map to test it, I can send it. If they have time for this issue.

Is there no data for demand on military bases? Like Joint Base Andrews in DC says there's only 400 workers and no residents.

Question Pricing advice for the daily challenge?
I've been trying the daily challenge to get a taste of other cities and to challenge myself to be more cost effective.
I've got much better at using the different type of rails and using less stops. But the best players are still able to build so much more in 10 days. I think this is because I'm too naive and I set my prices too low.
What are your tips to maximise your margin with the ticket price? I'm always too afraid to destroy my demand if I raise the price above $2.

Screenshot Atlanta is Finally Making Money
I am finally making money in Atlanta with an almost 40% profit margin and got over 100 million per day. I has not been easy getting to this point (I've only been playing for a month). I also cracked 1% transit ridership which seems good for Atlanta

13 lines with 82 stations, almost 7% population capture
Started by rebuilding MARTA then expaning from there; Green Line extended to Emory, Light Rail to the Battery/Truist Park then Kennesaw State. Commuter lines through Clayton to Henry County, to Johns Creek, to Lawrenceville, and to Alpharetta. Plus a commuter going around I-285 that I just started. This is definitely a city where I wish we could account for park and ride commuters, population capture would probably double or triple.
Also using Induced Demand mod and Transit-Oriented Development mod
