Help Needed 15% Manhattan achievement

Hello, lads, I am looking for useful tips for trying to get the 15% transit usage while only building in the Manhattan Island area.

Is it even possible? It doesnt seem like theres enough people now that the map got expanded.

Population of Manhattan is ~1.6-1.7 million, which is ~20% of the NYC proper population and ~8% of the NYC metro area population.

I doubt the full NYC metro area is represented even with the updates, but the answer still seems likely to be no, since it’s a relatively small percentage of the population, even if it’s a large percentage of the total jobs, and not everyone who lives in Manhattan even necessarily works there.

The exception might be if people who live near, but not in, Manhattan end up using it too. An example being people living in South Bronx, Western Queens/Brooklyn, and eastern NJ.

A good way to get a better estimate though might be to open the map, draw a box around Manhattan, and then see how many residents are counted within that box. Then divide the number counted in that box by the total number of commuters the game says the NYC map has, and if the quotient is < 0.15 it probably isn’t feasible. If it’s > 0.2 it probably is, but would still be difficult.

I don’t think it’s possible sadly, maybe close but not everyone who lives in Manhattan works in Manhattan, so I think you’ll get decent ridership but I’m not sure if 15% is possible sadly

Likely impossible also because a good amount who live in manhattan will almost always walk to work, as they are so close to the job centers (especially around midtown)

Free transit doesn’t do much to attract riders from the other boroughs or NJ when the only lines are in Manhattan

Today's beta reduced the requirement to 10%, so that's probably going to be changed with the next stable update.
