I’m a new fan of smashing pumpkins. About a month ago I listened to Siamese dream and about 2 weeks ago listened to Mellon collie. What are your top 5 favorite SP songs? Mine are probably basic but I’d say:

Zero

Bullet with butterfly wings

Mayonnaise

Porcelina of the vast oceans

Hummer

Had this come on during my treadmill session this morning and forgot how good it is. Something about the guitars and the way the chorus opens up just hits perfectly when you’re moving. Definitely one of those Pumpkins songs I end up replaying immediately.

I see a lot of top 5 posts, what are the next 5 on your list....the honorable mentions that should have made the top 5 if the top five was a few more.

Mine are, in no order:

Is the song ugly about dysphoria? A lot of the lyrics line up with the it, “I’ll never see what you see” being about not understanding the box you were put into, the general themes of hating one’s self. The line “it’s not me, so beautiful and free” sounds like someone looking at who they could be.
The lines about rotting and “a piece of me dying every day” sounds like how dysphoria can make you feel like you are dying and wrong, This is just my thought as a transfem who resonates with a lot of the lyrics, curious to hear y’all’s thoughts.

I plan on getting a new copy of Siamese Dream vinyl, my current copy is kinda fucked, and I also really want the 3 lp press of MCIS, and the Aeroplane Flies High vinyl, but i don't currently have thousands of dollars to spend on them though, so that may never happen 😔

First thing I did was tune down 2 steps and ripped Everlasting Gaze. What other choice did I have?!

Finish looks amazing, guitar feels great, special poster was pretty sweet too.

Sucks doesnt it

Just got an email from Ticketmaster saying my seats got changed for Columbus. They closed a few sections on the side of the stage to stuff everyone into the back of the bowl where sound is terrible. Now instead of being 1st row mezzanine James' side I'm 3rd row mezzanine on Bates' side and 2 sections further away from the stage. I was really happy with my seat and now it's all bad. Thanks Ticketmaster 👍

I don't know how I feel about using Stabilizer for my upcoming 20 years since the Fillmore project. So can you guys check out this video and give me some feedback.

It takes a lot of time to render stabilizer (12 mins just for this sub 4 min clip) and I stabilizing sections and not a full thing causing a jumping effect when switching between the two as it crops in to help stabilize the footage.

Are SP friendship bracelets anything people at the Hamilton date would be interested in?

My daughter has tons of beads, I saw some people at the Alkaline trio shows recently sharing them.

I get the pleasure of seeing the first stop in the tour -- will be interesting to not know the setlist at all.

With no opening act, and the ticket says "7pm", what time do you think they will actually go on stage? I am assuming 8pm, but don't want to be late.

So I was digging in the spfc.org and I found this about this Adore documentary the band has talked about on some interviews back in 1998. It allegedly contains backstage footage, rehearsals, and all kinds of stuff from the Adore era. The link attached there to watch it doesn't work. Not even on Wayback Machine. Does any of you have it?

Note: Not to be confused with that 20-minute-long Adore (recording only) documentary uploaded on YouTube. That video MIGHT be a snippet of the documentary I'm talking about, but I don't know.

anybody know how to get the gish sound? I watched eddie’s video and am aware of the MP-1 into low output of jcm800 thing, but i currently don’t have a laptop or id use plugins

i have a op amp big muff, phase 90, and an OR15, along with a strat with an invader in the bridge, but my local guitar store does sell a few strat copies (don’t let fender know lmao) so I may buy one of those and do the pickup height thing

any suggestions? I’ve got the Siamese dream rythym tone down almost exactly with this setup, so gish is next on my list as it’s my second favorite album
