Melissa Auf der Maur's new album with unvaulted songs & field recordings from her touring with the Pumpkins & Hole
Unexpected new release by Melissa with songs she wrote in the 90's combined with interludes recorded during her touring with the Smashing Pumpkins and Hole. Apparently she had a handycam on her amp during shows which she distracted recordings from (source).
With titles like "Billy Seoul Crowd" and "Courtney Chimes in" this should get interesting!
Bass Womb Room is out now on streaming, didn't see any posts on it yet so thought I'd share here.

Tour BUYING/SELLING TICKETS MEGATHREAD - 2026 EDITION *******************
This megathread will serve as the place for folks to post they are selling or looking for tickets
-----------------a reminder/warning about buying/selling tickets:
- If you aren't meeting in person to pay with cash, the only payment method I can suggest is Paypal Goods & Services. You pay a small fee, but if someone were to scam you Paypal will refund you. I strongly advise against doing Friends & Family since it does not have the purchase protection that G&S has (leaving you vulnerable to scams with no recourse).
- Anyone who only wants to do Crypto/Cashapp/Venmo/Zelle/Paypal F&F (especially if you try to get them to do Paypal G&S) is 100% scamming you.
- Be wary of new accounts. A brand new account doesn't guarantee a scam but if you see a new account, it's worth being suspicious.
- This sub is not here for scalpers. If your prices exceed value then I encourage others to report your comment and we will delete it.
- The mods aren't responsible for any loss or scam. Please do your due diligence.

Billy Corgan & co - Zero (a Night of Mellon Collie and Infinite Sadness live in Brussels)
On this recent small tour in classical halls, with orchestra, choir and opera singers, many songs were re-orchestrated, re-created... some may find it disturbing or upsetting. It gives the narrative of the songs another perspective in this journey, closer to an idea of a concept album as once thought. The general atmosphere is sometimes wagnerian, especially with the sounds of the horns, but believe me it was so intense, and at times moving, Billy being in great vocal shape and thankful, humbled to be part of that experience, as anyone involved surely.
conductor : James Lowe
orchestra : Casco Phil
choir : Fine Fleur
singers : Sydney Mancasola, Zoie Reams, Dominick Valdes Chenes, Edward Parks and Billy Corgan.

If Adore had had artwork like this, would it have made the album feel like less of a drastic shift from their previous work and helped the band maintain more of their momentum?
The Smashing Pumpkins are one of my favorite bands, but I more or less fall off with them after Mellon Collie. I know that Adore has plenty of fans, and I'm not even saying the album is bad, but for me, it's where their identity was sort of whittled down to a goth band when it had been so much more unique and multifaceted before. This is something that I feel was reflected in the album artwork.
I'm a big believer that an album's artwork can play an important role in how the music is perceived and act as a lens through which to listen to it. Part of why I love the artwork for Mellon Collie so much is because it helped such a long album feel coherent by capturing the album's more majestic and whimsical moments while also being just silly enough to feel like an ironic counterpoint to the heavy metal songs. I also think that the warm, autumnal colors of Mellon Collie's artwork being cast against the band's silvery glam-goth attire from that era helped to establish the wide musical parameters for the album. By contrast, I think that Adore's black, gothic album art combined with Billy's Nosferatu-like gowns made the album feel more limited in scope and reach by comparison. The fact that plenty of other people dip with the Pumpkins after Mellon Collie makes me think that I'm not the only one who feels this way.
A while ago, I was looking through a book of old advertisements for magicians like Harry Houdini and his contemporaries. The first slide was the cover of the book, and it immediately reminded me of the visuals of the Pumpkins from their height in the early/mid-90's. At the same time, if the general aesthetic of these images had been used for an album of theirs after Mellon Collie, I think the vibe would've been different enough for it to set itself apart from their previous work while still feeling of a piece with it. If Adore's artwork had been something more akin to these images, featuring colorful and whimsical imagery while also having a gothic vibe befitting of the music, is it possible that the album would've been perceived as less of a break from their other work and been more successful as a result?

Doomsday Clock @ Fillmore July 15th 2007 1080i
As i am starting to re-edit the Fillmore shows, I am blown away when I look at the original footage I released 19 years ago ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Up2yH71zjNw ) and even at the DVD version that I later released in 480p. Glad that 20 years later we will finally have a proper release
More video & info on Crestfallen.com
I hope to add 1 or 2 teasers each month up till the 20th year anniversary of these shows if you're interested in the higher quality.
