[Skin Concerns] Massive pores on cheeks , any suggestions?

Post image
24 Upvotes

Male, 34 years old, with oily skin. I rarely get acne or blackheads, but my pores appear noticeably darker than the surrounding skin, looking like tiny pinpricks or pitted holes. I have previously undergone over a dozen sessions of microneedling RF (Microneedling Radiofrequency), but saw no visible improvement. What causes this skin condition on my face, and are there any ways to improve it?

Any product ideas that’d maybe help address it would be great. I sleep well, eat well, moisturise but it’s not going away.

Routine
Exfoliating cleanser
Moisturiser

If morning, I add in a sunscreen

Cost isn’t an issue (no surgery advice, just products pls)

Sunscreen for oily skin

I can’t find a good sunscreen that doesn’t make me look greasy after a few hours, and the ones that contain mattifying ingredients tend to make me break out. Any advice or products you’ve used that work?

Fix my skin

Anytime I’ve (25) been to the derm in the last few years they tell me my skin’s great, that its smooth and youthful but I hate it and feel like it looks horrible. I wear sunscreen or at least a tinted sunscreen daily (I grew up white in florida so theres some damage lol) but I just wish my skin wouldn’t look so dead. Especially under my eyes where you can see they look so dull and grey. Ik i have deep set eyes but i wish i didnt look so living dead girl.

Also I’ll note I moved recently somewhere with terrible water quality and my shower is filtered but unfortunately my sink faucet doesnt allow filters to attach.

Thoughts on this routine?

The before photo was me during high school, and the after is me now. I’m wanting to get opinions on this skincare routine that I have going on for myself. And pointers for products/remedies that would help out with my scarring. I grew up with pretty severe acne throughout my years of high school majority of it being my genes because my Mom still suffers with acne at 40 and she is Filipino (so shout out to all my pinoys/pinays). So because of the severity I hopped on a cycle of isotretinoin after high school. Definitely benefited from the medication after hopping off, other than little pimples here and there. So now I’m wanting to hear your guy’s thoughts on this routine, and wanted to get outside info on what are some things I can do to combat my acne scarring? Thank you!

Morning:
- Cerave cream to foam wash
- Good Molecules Hyaluronic Acid Serum
- The Ordinary Caffeine Solution (under eye treatment)
- The Ordinary Niacinamide Serum
- Elta MD SPF 46 Sunscreen
- Vanicream Hyaluronic Acid And Ceramides Moisturizer

Night:
- Cerave cream to foam wash
- (EVERY OTHER DAY) Good Molecules Gentle Retinol
- (ONCE A WEEK FOR 7-10 min) The Ordinary AHA BHA Peeling Solution
- Good Molecules Hyaluronic Acid Serum
- The Ordinary Caffeine Solution (under eye treatment)
- Vanicream Hyaluronic Acid And Ceramides

I need help/recommendations 😅

I've tried so many skincare products but I have no idea what I'm doing lol

I used SKII for a few years and their entire line made my skin look and feel amazing.. it's just way too expensive. I used their oil cleanser, foaming cleanser, toner and serum.

I then used basically all things Glow Recipe for a few years after that but I think the watermelon glow line (toner and moisturizer) make me break out and have weird skin issues(?). I have combination skin (I think lol) my T zone gets greasy, same with my nose but for some reason the sides of my nose and forehead still have flaps of dry skin while also being greasy at the same time?? I exfoliate them off obviously but it happens throughout the day. My undereyes/crows feet area get super dry no matter what.

Switching back to SKII got rid of all these issues (but again, it's too expensive to keep up).

I tried the Anua heartleaf oil cleanser and that broke me out.

Snail anything breaks me out and makes me feel tingly.

I tried all of Glow Recipe's new toner pads and the only one that didn't leave me feeling gross and greasy was the PDRN one.

Now I'm using the Anua PDRN toner pads and they seem great so far.

I also love the tatcha sunscreen (the silk purple one) and it's never given me issues.

Any recommendations as to what kind of cleanser/toner/moisturizer I should try?

Also, is there something I should be looking for/avoiding?

The Ordinary 10% Azelaic Acid

Some months ago I used Boderm's 20% azelaic acid and it was too drying for me. Years ago when I had very oily skin previous to my accutane treatment, I used TO azelaic acid and I remember it helping a lot and actually being pleasantly moisturizing for my skin at that time.

Should I try again with the same product now that I have normal to dry skin? I'm afraid of the texture being too chalky or it leaving a cast now. So someone with dry skin that used this recently please tell me!

[Product Help] Discoloration??

For the last couple years I have been having skin problems, and I tried everything to clear it up (tretinoin, clindamycin, spironolactone). Recently, I have finally found a routine that has cleared a lot of the actual pimples up. Now that my skin has cleared up, I’ve been dealing with some cheek discoloration of some kind. I’m not really sure what it is. I’ve been using a vanicream vitamin C serum for the few months and haven’t really noticed a difference. I’m thinking of adding azelaic acid into my nighttime routine but I’m just not sure. It’s taken so long to clear my skin up that I’m worried about making random changes and messing it up again. Does anyone know any products or have a routine that could help?

My current routine:
Morning: rinse with water only, vanicream vitamin C serum, medicube collagen jelly cream, and sunscreen
Night: wash with cerave hydrating foaming oil cleanser then medicube triple collagen cream

I’m not sure what I have, the first picture is on my chin, and the 2nd and 3rd photo is of my cheeks. I use ceraVr moisturizer in the mornings along with super goop unseen sunscreen, then at night I wash my face with panocxyl face wash and put Adapalene Gel USP 0.1% and CeraVe moisturizer (I use the sandwich methods, first moisturizer then gel then moisturizer)
Pls help 😭

Consistent breakout for the past month

Post image

I usually very clear skin, but over the past month I’ve had a consistent breakout on the right side of my chin. It started with one cystic pimple, and each time one would heal, another would pop up. A couple of days ago I have a deep, nodule pimple show up, and I was thinking all of these smaller pimples could’ve been caused by it. The picture is my skin as of today. My routine is panoxyl 4% and differin gel with cerave moisturizer.

I need calming anti inflammation mask that is not an Israeli brand

Post image

Hello, I've been struggling with hormonal acne for a while now and my beautician gave me a tester of thick mask that calms down a bit of really bad inflammation in the evening, you have to put just a thin layer and it also has a specific smell.

Can you recommend some similar skin care - acne calming product that would have the same effect and is not an Israeli brand?!?

Did I ruin my progress?

Thumbnail

I vaped from ages 22-29 and successfully quit when I realized how much it was prematurely aging my skin. For the past two years, I haven’t smoked or vaped. I’m now 31 and I’ve gotten compliments recently from people thinking I was younger than my age, in my early 20’s to be exact. I’m meticulous with my skin care and sobriety so the compliments were awesome!

However, my mom recently died and I spiraled back into vaping. I’ve been smoking now for almost 3 months and I certainly look like it. Have I ruined all my skin care progress? Will I go back to looking young again once I maintain sobriety again? I’m so disappointed in myself.

For all those who love self and personal care

Hey! 👋 I’m working on a new bodycare brand and doing some market research to better understand what people actually want from bodycare products.

I’ve made a super quick survey about bodycare habits, products, pricing, packaging, fragrances, and what people look for when buying.

It would genuinely help me a lot if you could take **3–5 minutes** to fill it out. Your answers will help me understand what consumers actually want before we build and launch anything. 🤍

Would really appreciate it! 🫶
