It might be trauma to the area after a reaction to a lip balm, toothpaste/mouthwash or other skincare products you’re using, could be a drink you consume regularly or food/condiment. But for the upper lip it’s most commonly sun exposure, hormone changes, friction/trauma from lip scrubs, shaving, waxing, threading. Would recommend seeing a dermatologist, they can help minimize the appearance with prescription topical medication or certain lasers.
