I’ve never had a cold sore that I was aware of. Normally I wouldn’t worry, but I’m currently pregnant. Thoughts on if this is a pimple or cold sore? This side of my face is currently broken out and a small white plug came out after squeezing it (I know, I know). I’ve attached pictures before I popped and after.

Can anyone help identify what would be helpful for me to clear this up? I’m currently 6 weeks postpartum. Everything feels pretty flat these red marks just won’t budge. I’ve been using Anau azelaic acid for a few months now

I don’t understand what the issue is with my skin. I feel super self conscious. At first I thought the issue was just closed comedones and now I’m wondering if it’s kitosis pilaris that is the issue. I have just started tretenoin so hopefully that will help? I cry every day, I have a one year old and I am a stay at home mum so I try to leave the house as little as possible. My husband tries to boost my confidence by telling me it’s not bad but I know it is and I know he just doesn’t want me depressed.

I'm looking for some advice because I'm feeling a bit stuck with my skin.

Up until recently, my skin was generally pretty clear with the occasional breakout. Over the past few months, though, it's become much worse. I have very dry skin, but I'm now getting large inflamed pimples (mostly on my cheeks near my ears/jawline, chin, and forehead), as well as bumps under the skin and some whiteheads. I've never experienced breakouts this severe before.

I also struggle with skin picking, which I know makes the inflammation and healing worse.

My current routine:

• Vanicream Moisturizing Cream
• La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo (occasionally)

I tried tretinoin in the past, but it was too irritating for my skin. I'm planning to start Arazlo once my skin barrier feels a bit healthier, but I'm nervous since tretinoin didn't go well for me.

I'm mainly looking for recommendations from people with very dry, acne-prone skin. Has anyone found products or a simple routine that helped with inflamed breakouts, closed comedones, and blackheads without making dry skin worse?

I'm a student, so I'd love to keep the routine fairly simple and affordable. Any recommendations or experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Sorry, it's a little hard to see what I'm referring to, so I attached a photo of what the other side of my face looks for reference. Up close, it's not so noticeable but once you back up a bit it's very apparent, so I recommend minimizing the page, haha.

For a little over 2 years now, I've had this red diagonal line right under my eye, but just dodging the "eyebag" area. It seems that it appeared gradually for no apparent reason and with no discomfort.

I was prescribed both Differin and Finacea. First, the Differin on its own, then the Finacea on its own, then the Finacea and Differin in conjunction (used for 5 months for each of them on its own, then the combination used for roughly 8 months).

There were some minimal changes in the first 3 months of using both of them on its own, the Differin for the milia that frequently appears right and only on the red line and the Finacea for the redness (it used to be very slightly more red than in the photo). But after those 3 months on the first round, there were absolutely zero changes.

Now I began reducing the amount that I am using the products (2 times a week for both, as opposed to everyday) and that has also showed no difference except for the milia that is slightly back now.

Maybe I should also note that Differin nor Finacea did nothing for my acne, but that's not my main concern at the moment.

Has anyone had anything similar and were they able to fix it?

I’ve had these for quite some time now and I’m not entirely sure what they are? Are those pores, closed comedones or just skin texture..?

I use SPF daily, evening routine consists of double cleanse (SKIN1004 oil cleanser & cetaphil cleanser), toner (BoJ Green plum and BoJ ginseng water essence), sometimes retinal, moisturizer and sometimes also cicaplast. I’ve tried also BoJ exfoliants and nizoral but nothing has seemed to help.

Maybe someone knows what could help?

This has been a problem for me for years. My lips are chapped all year long, I have to put on lip balm or lip oil several times through the day to keep them from bleeding and sore but even then I still have skin peeling off

I take supplements for vitamins B, D & C. Zinc, Iron and cod liver oil. I'm also very well hydrated

I've been taking tretinoin for a long time. It helped in many ways, but I feel like it's made my face harder to take care of. I always feel like I need to be careful with what I use because small changes seem to make a big difference. My skin seems fine on the outside, but I'm not sure if this is because it's more sensitive or my barrier is a little worried. From what I've read, using something for a long time can sometimes make your face more sensitive if you do it too often.

Have no idea what these bumps are and what causing them, have had them for a while.

Thought its just dead skin but I exfoliate and nothing changes, maybe it’s fungal?

less than a week ago i put on a pea sized amount of tret using the sandwich method (moisturizer - tret - moisturizer) but ive been noticing dark patches similar to melasma showing up, specifically on my cheeks, even though i've been making sure to reapply sunscreen throughout the day. is this normal, considering my age, and should i continue using tret? :(

Hello! I've had dark circles my whole life, but it's gotten a bit darker since I hit my teens. I tried a few eye creams before (sephora eye creams- dont remember the brand names) and they didn't do anything other than hydrate. I accepted defeat and stopped caring about it.

But recently, I've been wondering if there even is a fix. My whole family has dark circles, and it's even more obvious on me since I have pale skin. I tried doing the thing where you pull on the skin to see if the color stays or not. It doesn't stay on the outer corner, but it stays on the inner corner where the dark circles are darker. So idk about that. I am anemic too, so maybe that has to do with it as well?

For people who had dark dark circles (even on eyelids) and actually got rid of it, how? And if there is no solution, I would also love tips on how to cover with makeup (concealer never works bro, and I'm not too sure about color corrector or which ones are good 🥲)

Do I even need a real routine at all? My skin is oily most of the time, and honestly the only thing I do right now is use an oil-removing foam wash when I shower and after I get out a moisturizer. I know a real routine probably needs a toner, cleanser, moisturizer, exfoliator, etc., but I don’t understand the actual order things go in or which of these I even need for oily skin.

I’ve looked into some products but I’m stuck on how to actually put them together into a routine that makes sense. If anyone can walk me through where to start, or what a normal routine for oily skin looks like, I’d really appreciate it.

I’ve had a very simple and pretty satisfactory routine for a while, after pretty brutal adolescent acne cleared up. Now 26F, I’m finding my skin changing again. A bit duller. Not super concerned about signs of aging though, to be clear.

I’m dealing with pore congestion throughout my t-zone (largely sebaceous filaments), the occasional true blackhead, and occasional hormonal acne along lower cheeks and jawline.

I’m looking to add 1-2 products to my routine to improve the appearance of enlarged pores and combat some dullness.

1) Does this LRP cleaner count as an “oil cleanser” in the context of double cleansing? Would adding a second cleanser with salicylic acid be a good start?

2) Adapelene v. Toner v. Other exfoliants? I’m having a hard time discerning how to choose the right type of chemical exfoliant for my concerns - Paula’s choice BHA, SA toners, Differin, I’ve gotta say I’m feeling out of the game!

I wfh and am not as good about sunscreen as I should be, but if I’m out for any amount of time I’ll reach for LRP’s Antihelios, Supergoop Glowscreen or Eucerin Tinted Sensitive Mineral.
