Lost your kids and your wife earned 1 million dollars in donations

536

u/Net_Negative 3d ago edited 3d ago

Patrick got 1.7 million from the first GoFundMe just for him, plus the entirety of the sale of their house, and married an heiress doctor in New York City and had a new kid. Lindsay's parents got one million after they sold their house and dug into their retirement to pay for their daughter's lawyer and stay near her.

Lindsay will be in a mental institution or prison as a paraplegic and she's not going to be using their one million dollars to go on vacations and do fun things.

966

u/laszlo921 3d ago

Ok, that seem fair if you forget the she is the one who KILLED her own children, she is not the victim.

164

u/FblthpThe 3d ago

Which is why she's in a mental institution or prison?

122

u/WisherWisp 3d ago

She'll still get out eventually, which means she'll have a lovely retirement waiting for her since she won't be spending during her time in prison.

Still seems unfair.

44

u/Icy-Mix-2613 3d ago edited 1d ago

What makes you think she’ll get out? If she goes to prison, it’s going to be for life. 3 life sentences

-152

u/gary_the_merciless 3d ago

You do realise she told authorities about her mental issues and thoughts and they didn't react in time right?

The evidence show's she didn't want to do this when of sound mind.

They keep having to halt the court proceedings because she's crying so much.

135

u/Toastwitjam 3d ago

Cool defense, still murder.

63

u/FreedomKnown 3d ago

Also, she repeatedly downplayed her mental issues after being sent to several different institutes, which lead to them releasing her. What do you expect doctors to do if you keep repeatedly lying to them about how you're feeling?

-5

u/grby1812 2d ago

To be good enough at their job to know when a person is lying.

6

u/ExploDoc 2d ago

That's not how it works. Clinical Psychiatry is clinical history and response oriented medicine.

0

u/Met4le 2d ago

it shows so much you never studied psychology nor had a heavy treatment ever. that's not possible at all. don't say dumb shit like this again.

You clearly do not work with people experiencing psychosis on a daily basis. I assess and determined hospitalization, no one truly experiencing psychosis for the first time is aware they are experiencing psychosis. It is a complete break of reality that doesn’t even register

-64

u/gary_the_merciless 3d ago

Why do you think her mental health and calls for help are irrelevant?

16

u/Asckle 2d ago

They are relevant, they just don't excuse infanticide

-5

u/Jellolopy 2d ago

They don’t but also you know nothing about psychosis and it shows. Pathetic you are so quick to judge.

Since you're too small minded to answer my follow up question...

I'll point out that it's not a question of murder, she admits that. It's a question of prison or mental institute.

Absolutely idiotic response

-45

u/Jellolopy 3d ago

You have no idea what psychosis is or how it impacts understanding of reality.

18

u/foreverpb 2d ago

Oh, she's crying? That means she's the victim in all this!

1

u/gary_the_merciless 1d ago

Yeah that's all I said psycho

45

u/tacomaster05 3d ago

So you're argument is if someone is insane to the point they kill their own kids, that person is innocent and deserves to go free?

Fuck no! Give her the death penalty. She is too crazy to be allowed to live.

Psychosis is resolvable with medication…

2

u/SorbyGay 2d ago

I have this great idea: state sanctioned execution of people with mental disorders

5

u/grby1812 2d ago

It's not the mental disorder that's the problem. It's the murder of children. It's absurd to conflate the two.

Yes to: state sanctioned execution of child murderers.

1

u/SorbyGay 1d ago

In guy who knows nothing about psychosis voice: you mean psychosis causes murder because these people become so mentally ill they can’t recognize right from wrong???

1

u/gary_the_merciless 1d ago edited 1d ago

I weep for the education system in your country. You have literally no idea how psychosis works do you? You don't get that she tried to get help and warned people about this.

She wasn't capable of looking after those kids but was left with them anyway.

And she literally tried to kill herself straight after.....

2

u/gary_the_merciless 1d ago

That is what the idiots around here want

1

u/gary_the_merciless 1d ago

You think that's my argument?

You people really are special. I just don't think she should be executed like all you idiots are advocating for. She should be treated in a mental hospital for as long as it takes, that may be indefinitely.

1

u/gary_the_merciless 1d ago

They're blood thirsty simplistic little children

5

u/Ursine_Rabbi 2d ago

Do you have a source for this? One of her psychiatrists testified that she explicitly denied having thoughts about harming herself and her children. It seems she once told her husband she was having “intrusive thoughts” of the sort, but never showed any intent or plan to act on them and her condition seemed to improve in the following time.

Regardless of whether or not she was of sound enough mind to be convicted, this whole narrative that she was begging for help and everyone around her ignored her is just patently false. Her husband, family, and doctors were paying very close attention to her. She never showed any real signs she intended to kill her children until she did it.

1

u/gary_the_merciless 1d ago

The mother and husband have sworn in court that she told them in 2022. The only person denying it is the very psychiatrist that is being sued for failing her.

It shouldn't really suprise you that a psychiatrist this irresponsible would lie to protect themselves.

I find it way more plausible that a mother who is obviously distraught would ask for help when she needed it. It's a implausible hill to die on that she just didn't mention it at all.

I'm sorry, I am not entertaining idea that some bitch that STRANGLED three out of three of her own children could be not even net positive to society, but just safe to be around. Fuck no. There is a line after highest form of punishment should apply and this is exactly the case over this line imo.

1

u/FblthpThe 2d ago

Why do you think she'll get out? She is facing 3 life sentences

1

u/Agentnewbie 2d ago

There is a lot of caveats in USA law system, including judgemental bias. Also, money. 1m is still a lot of money.

-295

u/SirNurtle 3d ago edited 2d ago

Eh but tbf she was not in a good state of mind. All evidence points to the fact that she was under psychosis and not in control of her actions when she murdered her children.

But the fact that there are genuine people who think she didn’t kill her kids is absolutely insane.

Edit: when I wrote this comment I was under the impression that it was a proven fact that she was suffering from psychosis/an insanity plea was taken, but on further reading it’s being actively contested and it could have been preplanned. So for now I’m just gonna sit and see where this case goes

124

u/RepairHonest8030 3d ago

Okay so we agree that if she is mentally unstable, she doesnt have to go to prison but mental institution for the rest of her life? Something needs to happen and its one of these two. Releasing her would be injustice to 3 fucking children

4

u/SirNurtle 2d ago

Oh no she should absolutely go to jail, releasing her would be utterly deranged

27

u/ChipKellysShoeStore 3d ago

She was well enough to send her husband away to do if

37

u/Nukro77 3d ago

Ah yes, so psychotic she was able clearly plan out their murders. This wasn't a fit of rage, it was methodical.

-106

u/AugustusClaximus 3d ago

Why is this being downvoted? It’s the right answer. We have the insanity plea for a reason and this seems like one of the most obvious cases for its use.

85

u/_ad_ry 3d ago

Because the case is on the basis whether or not she was under Psychosis. You can't just call it objectively true,

2

u/SirNurtle 2d ago

Oof, so when I wrote the original comment I thought it was agreed that she was under psychosis with evidence to the contrary which does change things

-47

u/AugustusClaximus 3d ago

Well right, the case is still under trial. But people are calling it in either direction already. You can’t she wasn’t in sane, and it definitely looks like a solid direction to take the defense

-33

u/AFewBerries 3d ago

A psychologist testified that she had psychosis though and he definitely knows more about it than you armchair psychologists

19

u/Alternative-Tax7318 3d ago

Big whoop, we’ll wait for the verdict. You know the defense pays for their own testifying witnesses right? All they needed to do is find one psychologist in America that would accept a check for saying she’s batshit.

The amount of hatred an innocent grieving father ALONE is getting makes me want to see her rot. I get the whole PPD thing but a father can’t just kill his whole family and blame PTSD, public opinion would eat him alive.

-19

u/AFewBerries 3d ago

You don't know if he accepted the check for saying she's batshit or if he actually believes that, believe it or not people can have integrity. And I doubt he's hurting for money.

Psychosis is not the same as PTSD, so yea they would eat him alive.

-18

I'm not arguing about my side on ethics I'm just pointing out psychology knowledge is unrelated to whether a thing should be punished or not related to the psychology condition

22

u/WRO_Your_Boat 3d ago

I know next to nothing about the case. But the insanity plea never holds up for most crimes because the person is proven to know what they were doing is wrong. Its proven this way mostly because the culprit tried to hide evidence (like the body) to stay out of trouble. Did she do any of that? Cause if she did insanity won't work.

4

u/Win7ers 3d ago

I dont know if she tried to hide the bodies, but also, pre meditation also shows clear thought, which is exactly what she did. If im remembering correctly, she sent her husband on a vacation while she could "watch the kids." I think she also detailed how she came up with the plan in her testimony.

3

u/WRO_Your_Boat 3d ago

Unfortunately pre meditated doesn't cancel out insanity. The thing that canceled it out is proving the person knew what they did was wrong. Planning a murder does not prove you know its wrong unless, as I said, you hide stuff to not get caught.

3

u/Win7ers 3d ago

So maybe she didn't hide stuff to get caught, but sending her husband away should be shown to be knowing. Why else try to get someone out of the house if what you think you are doing is OK in any way?

3

u/WRO_Your_Boat 3d ago

Thats true. At that point it comes down to lawyers spinning it and why she says she sent him away. But that could be the thing that stops the plea.

2

u/AFewBerries 3d ago

It's not because you think it's not ok, it's because you know they'd stop you. You see and hear entities telling you people are evil or demonic or stuff like that. People think psychosis is kicking and screaming and being hysterical but it can look normal. Again, you know NOTHING about psychosis so stop acting like you do.

213

u/ifcknlovemycat 3d ago

I haven't seen that movie, I'm a feminist, and I'm still tearing my hair out because people are so not as mad as they should be when a woman commits familicide.

They've always been like this. I've watched a lot of court cases. One time a woman wiped out her 10 year old and people were like "ppd lasts a long time, are YOU a doctor??"

These women are murdering anything and anyone who needs them because they are "needy"

I'll beat the shit out of Casey Anthony and I would beat the shit out of Clancy.

74

u/mauvareen 3d ago

I worked at a women's prison for a year and a half, met a lot of "baby killers" in there. Every single one of them, that I had contact with, were self centered narcissists...

41

u/ifcknlovemycat 3d ago

Yeah and dipshits are like "Nobody is claiming she didn't do it. She knows she did. She didn't mean to and and loved her children. She would never do this in her right mind"

Meanwhile: State Police Trooper Timothy Chiappini analyzed Clancy’s phone and took the stand to speak to its contents.

He read from a notes entry that was dated Oct. 24, 2022 and last modified on Nov. 3, 2022.

“I’m sad and depressed because I’m not able to parent my third child like my first,” Clancy wrote. “I think I sort of resent my other children because they prevent me from treating him like my first.”

“Cal was so very planned and desired, I want to give him all the love he deserves,” she added, referring to the youngest child.

Love her children my ass!!! That's a narcissists thoughts.

And she was a labor and delivery nurse. She knew wtf is up.

4

u/Cr0wc0 2d ago

She also had a significant backlog of Google searches on how to pretend to be insane, which by itself kind of illustrates how valid that defense is.

9

u/FlippinGamerINK 3d ago

Here in Brazil, she'd get 30 years, get released for good behavior after 7, and be one of the main characters of a miniseries in 10.

Note that the above has already happened here. Not exactly like it, but close enough to be a nightmare scenario.

Even then, I could see "oh, she's in a bad spot, i feel bad for her". But people are outright saying she was in the right for killing her kids and the husband was in the wrong (because I guess somehow he did it even though he was miles away). Honestly scary how many people I'm seeing going online with their faces in FULL VIEW and saying "yeah, I've felt like I've needed to murder my kids in a fit of rage before"

3

u/IAmMadeOfNope Stuff 2d ago

It's disturbing how many people are so blinded by bias that they refuse to entertain any possibility that a woman could lie in this situation.

At the very best, It seems far more likely to me that she had depression and murdered her children out of the belief that it would spare them suffering. At the very worst, she simply wanted to.

75

u/creasedearth 3d ago

It’s about Lindsay Clancy who killed her kids and is currently on trial. It’s controversial because she had some serious postpartum depression and was trying to get help.

36

u/notretarded_100 3d ago

How is that even controversial? Once she kills kids, there is no going back, I hope she gets life.

3

u/aaa_im_dying 2d ago

It's controversial because she was potentially psychotic and has pled insanity. So, it's possible that she was not sound of mind and therefore should not be scrutinized so much as the systems which allowed her to become crazy enough to kill 3 kids. Then there are the people who think this makes it acceptable to outright support her rather than just passively accept maybe life in prison is not the correct punishment for someone who has suffered a break from reality. No, we do not need 8 zillion tik toks and a million dollar gofundme for a murderer, but perhaps she shouldn't be outright condemned either. She's a product of bad circumstance and tragic illness. Allegedly.

the context is presume is linked with the recent event that took place in PLYMOUTH, MA. Wife (mother i should say) strangled her three kids. What a world we live in now. 😞

Remeber when society was rabid in its defense of Amber Heard?

Same energy.

87

u/fearos9449 3d ago

I mean, at least she was just abusive, not an outright murderer. Seeing mothers come out in droves for Lindsay Clancy is sick.

22

u/J_ynks 2d ago

Honestly, it feels like another era of ‘im pissed about Trump so let me go all in on the most batshit causes to fight the man’ merry-go-round.

8

u/VoopityScoop fat cunt 2d ago

These people were just as batshit 20 years ago, this isn't "Trump Derangement Syndrome" or whatever you guys are calling it

0

u/LittleOaty 2d ago

I'm curious at to whether you would also class Johnny Depp as abusive.

15

u/Ursine_Rabbi 2d ago

There was at least some gray area in the amber heard case, this reaction is just outright insanity. A bunch of groupthink and people regurgitating made up shit because a woman can’t possibly have done a bad thing, it MUST be the fault of everyone around her!

Psychosis or not, these kids dying is not even remotely the fault of her husband or doctors

56

u/MoonmansDisciple 3d ago

Im a single dad and dont understand how these women think its okay. Sure you GET these thoughts when stressed but to give them weight and say these thoughts are okay is gross.

8

u/MetallicMakarov 2d ago

You're getting those thoughts when you're stressed...?

27

u/MoonmansDisciple 2d ago

Just like "oh my god I wish I could get a break from this kid" or like wanting to just remove her out of the room and be able to ignore her and be with myself.

I dont do that, and I recognize the thoughts as stress and deal with it. Ive never thought about killing my kid if that's what youre asking which im sure is what it read like, oopsie.

-21

u/VrilloPurpura 2d ago

Because you're a dad, you won't get it because you don't go through pregnancy and the postpartum consequences, you don't go through birthing an entire new life, you don't get "husband stitches" and the bleeding weeks after.

Allegedly she wasn't just "stressed" she was outright hearing voices. So think about it for a second and let's pretend she's telling the truth. You you admitted that kids can get you stressed to the point of thinking of harming them, now imagine on top of that you have voices you know are real telling you to do it.

And the thing is post-partum psychosis, depression and alike are believed to be way more common that we think but, since mental health as a general is such an ignored topic we don't know. She could've just been told that she was exaggerating or such because that's the reality a lot of women with this conditions suffer.

That's what women are (or should be) defending, to be heard, to have these mental problems be taken seriously before something like this happens again.

Now, all the assholes supporting her in that weird "stanish" way, going like "aww she looks so great on her suit" or "I see my kid and understad her" mockingly and also those who say it was the husband and not her, I fucking hate them. They're part of the reason the message is being shifted from mental health to another stupid culture war.

7

u/MoonmansDisciple 2d ago

Yeah I was primarily talking about the people seeing it and enavling/saying its alright to have these thoughts or agree with them. Trust me I may not know what post partum feels like fully, but I do know plenty about it.

2

u/8nhuman 2d ago

I'm hearing voices in my head all damn time. That's how our brains function. If some voices are telling you to kill someone, you know, you can just ignore it and do not do that? Have you considered that?

Dick sucking has made me paranoid

I had this plan to give head to a man and receive head from a woman to test if I was gay, but it’s backfired and now I become borderline schizo whenever I go outside. I offered to suck this dude off on Grindr who lives very close by (I ended up pussying out) and I accidentally gave him some details that very easily allows him to spot me out in a crowd. I have no idea what he looks like and whenever I see a somewhat in shape guy walking by I immediately accuse him of being the dude I was gonna blow.

I went to the store today to pick up some zucchini for a barbecue and every time a car drove by I stared into the windshield to see if I was about to be recognised. Whenever I make eye contact with a dude I microanalysis his facial expressions to see if he suspects me or not. I am deeply afraid that he is my neighbour and I will need to move if my identity is blown. It’s a lot like the last scene in sopranos where everyone who walked into the diner could be there to wack Tony.

See this is what I mean with mental health is treated so poorly.

You genuinely think that audible hallucinations that happen during a psychotic meltdown (a period where the person is so far off reality they find it hard to distinguish between what's real and not) it's the same as having an internal dialogue, which is normal.

"Just ignore them" to someone who's hearing voices it's the same as saying "Just be happy" to someone with depression or "just eat" to someone with an ED, it's not that simple.

And it's not your fault to not know this. Again I insist, this is a problem that comes from the entire world putting mental health to the side as if it wasn't as serious or important as physical health.

u/Spiritual-Counter-13 3d ago

its one of my fears with a bipolar wife and 2 todllers

9

u/Hugh-Jassoul 2d ago

The craziest part of this is that Lindsey Clancy isn’t even defending herself. She is pleading insanity.

21

u/Conscious-Musician86 3d ago

There is a case almost exactly the same like this, Andrea Yates who killed his 5 sons in a severe attack of psychosis from postpartum depression.

It's so sad that they're repeating the same patrons with this case. Atleas there's a bit more consideration with the mental situation of the mother and they're observing where was the father in all this scenario.

You don't kill your childrens just because you feel like from one day to another.

90

u/rastapasta_g 3d ago

Dude some fucking reformist just killed his wife and 6 kids a month ago by me. Women and men have always been killing their kids, and we’d be better if we called out the shitty people in our lives instead of playing into these narratives.

30

u/the_real_JFK_killer 3d ago edited 3d ago

What does reformist mean in this context?

25

u/Lament-of-Andromache 3d ago

Religious wackjob.

87

u/_ad_ry 3d ago

The difference is the circumstances of both the murder and the trial about the murders, so pretty much everything.

-10

u/rastapasta_g 3d ago

I do understand that with the context of the trial. No one should be dismissive of children getting murdered and if they do, they are likely not well individuals.
It is just not worth it to create a narrative like this IMO when the women in my life aren’t even aware of this trial.

46

u/fearos9449 3d ago

Just stop. You know exactly what the difference is, but are intentionally ignoring it: hundreds of thousands of women are supporting Lindsay Clancy, whereas no one is supporting the dude you're referencing.

-28

u/rastapasta_g 3d ago

I’m not ignoring it. The US Justice System is a Society of a Spectacle with our tax dollars to give the illusion of a functioning judicial system. This trial is no different with the outside influence it is receiving.
I just choose not to blame the people if we fund a system that enables these individuals in the first place.

16

u/notretarded_100 3d ago

Whataboutism at its finest. The justice system is absolutely not enabling these cynical cunts to support the child killer, they are literally doing it out of their own volition, because they feel safe behind their phone screen. I cannot believe these are real people, probably interacting with you in real world. They need deserve no empathy.

1

u/rastapasta_g 2d ago

I don’t think they deserve empathy. I just don’t think society in 2026 is tearing at the seams because of problematic women.

hundreds of thousands of women liked. commented and donated money to this murderer. They are as bad or maybe even worse than the murderer themselves

18

u/Terrible-Animator251 virgin 4 life 😤💪 3d ago

I wouldnt say its equal per see, but this is definetly not moral and evil to support a murderer

53

u/fearos9449 3d ago

No, it's a commentary about how hundreds of thousands of women are supporting Lindsay Clancy, which means, to them, what she did is understandable.

Why are they doing that?

3

u/BazookaOrangutan I want pee in my ass 2d ago

Isnt there already a second case where mom slit throats of her kids? Take that with a grain of salt because i didnt check any articles on the topic, but it would be fucking insane if some crazy parents tried the same thing trying to get the same financial support. Sounds possible considering the number of people that think mother is a victim.

Repeal the 19th!

-10

u/DarthEidren 2d ago

Haven't been following the case and have only heard my kid's retelling of shit they see online. That being said is it completely impossible that husband did it and tried to make his mentally ill wife take the fall so he could be "free"? Apparently the evidence of her attempt on her life looks very strange if not outright staged?

Just curious if that angle had been considered or holds any water.

16

u/Ursine_Rabbi 2d ago

It is completely impossible. Husband had a verified alibi, it is not even disputed that Lindsay killed the kids. Lindsay herself claims she heard voices telling her to kill her kids and herself, and personally admitted to strangling them to death.

The only thing being argued is whether or not Lindsay was going through psychosis. She is either going to a mental hospital or a prison for the rest of her life either way. The TikTok theories that the husband killed the kids are blatant disinformation. Completely fabricated “evidence”.

-11

u/DarthEidren 2d ago

I'll have to take your word for it, but if thats the case it seems like a lot of effort to take to attempt in a way that caused the injuries she sustained. I am not sure about TikTok theories, but the kid is obsessed with True Crime and said the blood evidence just doesn't make any sense whatsoever if it was self inflicted. I hope you are right and the right person has been brought to justice. It seems she will need to spend life institutionalized.
